As a new customer, I called Bosco requesting service for our furnace which was not giving any heat. The dispatcher was courteous, the respond time was prompt and the technician was polite. Now for the bad part. Your technician informed us that the repair needed would cost well over $1,000.00 and if we decided to go ahead, this could only be done on January 2nd, as the wholesalers were closed for the holidays and he could not get the necessary parts to fix the problem. In addition, he informed us that this was only a band-aid repair and the chances are that we would have to replace the furnace, within a year. He indicated that it was unsafe to operate the furnace and that we would be wasting money on the repairs and suggested installing a new furnace. Still having faith in Bosco, I agreed to get a quote from them on a new furnace.
Not feeling too happy with the way this process was progressing, I decided to call in another company to check out the furnace. To cut a long story short, the technician from the other company did the same diagnostics procedures as Bosco but went one step further. Using a handheld manometer, it was established that the vent outside was blocked. By merely taping the ice off the outside vent, the furnace worked. After writing to them they contacted me to apologize for the bad call and assured me that this was not the way Bosco works. They gave me a full refund and have assured me that if I deal with them again, they would prove to me that I would be more than happy with their service. I am willing to give them a second chance based on their follow up and response to my problem.
