Replace flagstone porch and repair crumbling mortar between flagstone in another area

We recently employed Red Robin Masonry to rip out an old flagstone porch, replace it with new flagstone, and to repair crumbling mortar in another area of flagstone. We are very pleased with the results. Dave came to our house, assessed the work, and promptly emailed us a description of the work to be completed at a fair price. The project was only delayed by a few days due to uncooperative weather. Dave kept us informed as to when to expect the crew. Every member of this crew was courteous and friendly. Despite extremely hot weather conditions, they successfully removed the old flagstone (including an additional layer that had been hidden below) and installed our lovely new flagstone. After completion, we had some concerns that several of the depressions between the flagstones seemed too deep and might collect water. I emailed Dave on Friday and sure enough a fellow appeared Monday to grind and add more mortar. This alleviated our concerns although he made a point to tell me that Red Robin would keep coming back if we weren't completely satisfied. He said that the company never wants to leave a customer unhappy. We've had numerous contractors at this house but few have demonstrated this kind of work ethic and customer service. We would highly recommend Red Robin Masonry for your next project.

Tuck pointing and parging

Dave arrived promptly and was very thorough with his inspection. I could tell he really knew what he was talking about. He sent a quote off a few days later and we decided to go with them. His crew were terrific. Unlike some other companies we've had in, they were a pleasure to have around the house, always looking out for the kids, and very polite. They even pointed out some additional work that needed doing. I am very pleased with the result and would certainly recommend them to anyone requiring this type of work.

Repairing parging to a 100-year old house.

Red Robin Masonry was quick, efficient and reasonably-priced. They provided a straightforward and realistic estimate. The job was completed quickly, even though there was more patching to be done than appeared at first. They also made every effort to accommodate my work schedule in getting the job completed.

Tuckpointing the old house, replacing bricks

I am glad I selected this company. They quoted the most reasonable price, communicated well, but above all, they did an excellent job matching mortar colours on my house. There were several areas with different colours.
I was paranoid about looks of my house because I could hardly find a house in the neighbourhood where new mortar would blend with old reasonably well. You can see every patch on most houses. So I have stressed this many times, and Dave from Red Robin Masonry was patient enough, and attentive to my concerns. Guys came on time, worked fast and did a great job. Joe is a master in his trade. Thanks, highly recommend.

repointing of masonry, reset chimney

Dave and his crew did an excellent job of repointing the brickwork to our old family home in downtown Toronto. Professional consultation by Dave, including a workplan covering all aspects of the work and the cost, was provided. His crew came to do the job while I was away. The chimney that was reset looks almost brand new - looks super. They also made sure that the neighbors were not inconvenienced with the scaffolds, etc. A few finishing touches were provided when I returned. The crew member who came to add the finishing touches was professional, personable and provided great service.

Chimney Rebuild, Brick Replacement

Red Robin was a pleasure to work with. Mike came out promptly to give us a quote and was very good about going over all the potential masonry work on our house and letting us know if it was "must do", "nice to do", or "unnecessary". We ended up doing a chimney rebuild and replacing about 30 bricks. His quote was detailed and the price was fair.

They were also very good about communication, and Dave was great to work with to set everything up. The work was quick, clean, professional, and very high quality.

Highly recommended.

Got 5 different quotes to partially rebuild and aged chimney, Red robin came in at the best price for pretty much the same amount of work that all the other companies would've done. On time and great communication. Would highly recommend.

Parging and tuck pointing

I contacted Red Robin Masonry in addition to two other contractors. When they arrived at the house, they pointed out issues I hadn't noticed, and they did this in a way without making me feel pressured. They also suggested economical and logical ways of doing things particularly in areas of the foundation which were not readily seen from the front of the house. The workmen arrived on time, and were very pleasant to do with, they even added in some extra tuck pointing that they noticed could be done, since he had left over material. Great company, and I hope they continue to do well.

Repair brick and parging

One of the corners of our house had displaced brick and cracked parging (as well as ugly do-it-yourself repairs from past owners) due to settlement. We had already repaired the settlement but needed to fix the ugly brick/parging. Red Robin was outstanding from start to finish. They responded quickly to our call. Came promptly to give a reasonable quote. They scheduled the work right away and communicated professionally when rain caused them to reschedule by a few days. The job was completed to our total satisfaction by two outstanding workers. The brick they picked matches really well. The corner looks perfect! It rained right after they left, which left one spot on the parging a bit rain streaked. That is being touched up this week. Red Robin is a fantastic business. I wish all contractors were this professional, reliable and great!
