Called in desperation just before Christmas due to noisy fridge. The good news is, service was availabe tht afternoon, and the guy did something, charging me over $250 for a fan motor and about 10 mins labour.

The bad news... the part he put in looked like a kluge...had to break tabs, snap shaft, and bend other things to get it to fit. Noise recurred about 48 hours later. Called them back, the guy listended said, 'different motor this time, will cost another $300 to fix'. Wasn't convinced and declined. So now I'm $250+ out, and still have a noisy refrigerator. Oh yea, found the part he changed online: $35.

Following that, went through the 'refrigerator file', and found that I had called then once before, at which time the ice cream auger motor was declared dead. It started to work by itself shortly after, lost a $75 deposit. Has worked fine ever since.

Definitely looking for an alternative service provider now.

our dryer died and my husband called the appliance service people. they came to our house and discovered that the issue was that the fuse had popped they had my daughter flip the fuse and then promptly charged us $141. Originally we were quoted $65 for the service call and if it was simply fix they would charge us for the part if not they would give us a written quote. Since they did nothing and they only issue was a switch being turned back on i expect the charge to be $65 . I called the owner Bob ( very rude man who hung up on me several times) he told me that it was $65 plus $10 every 10 minutes. I explained that this was not relayed to us on the phone and that we would be disputing the charge. He threaten to send me to collections and was not even prepared to discuss this issue or listen to what i had to say. Do not use these people

The guy Bob is so rude. He hung up on me. I have already paid them and now for months they still have not fixed my issue. If any services people cannot guarantee within how long they fix and if they cannot fix then when they can return the whole amount, it is useless getting these guys to your home and sit and watch while they learn from your items.
I can write pages and pages of conversation with these guys but bottom line is they are not the kind of people you want to deal with.

We called the Appliance Service People to replace a soap dispenser and seal in our Bosch dishwasher. The techician came yesterday and when he left, I ran the dishwasher and it started to leak(which it had not done previously). I called 'Bob' - at 'The Appliance Service People' and because it was 5:20 p.m., he advised that no one could come out until the next day. I told him this was not satisfactory as the dishwasher was leaking now. I became frustrated with his rudeness and told him I would not authorize Visa to pay his invoice. At this point, he said 'fine' and hung up on me! The original repairman did come back the same night - twice - and could not repair the leak. He even kept reversing the seal - he didn't even know which way it should be installed! He said he would come back in the morning - but we did not want this person - or anyone else from this company touching our dishwasher again. We have called another company.
We have spoken with 'Bob' on a couple of previous occasions and he has always been rude! I can't believe Bosch uses this company to repair their appliances.

Our almost 10-year-old and much beloved Bosch dishwasher stopped working in mid-wash one evening, filled with soapy water and dishes. We were able to get The Appliance Service People in the next day, and Chris B and his colleague dealt with the problem in a timely fashion. Chris trained with Bosch in Germany, and was very knowledgeable about how their appliances are assembled and serviced. He explained the source of the problem, gave me a couple of options in terms of how it could be repaired, did the repair in a timely fashion, and gave me some excellent tips on how to continue to extend the life of this fine appliance. I was very grateful for his expertise, professionalism and pleasant manner.

The service man from Appliance Repair People completely mis-diagnosed my dishwasher as broken, and needing to be replaced. He refused to even turn a screw, insisting he could tell just by listening, but charged a $35 fee anyways, on top of a fee to repair my dryer (which was an easy fix, as one of his Appliance People associates had previously diagnosed the problem, but never came back with the part to fix it). His quote to replace the dishwasher motor, which he claimed was the problem, was about twice the amount of subsequent quotes that I received (ie: well over $500!), and the individual was rude and arrogant. Either way, we took his word, and began to scope out removing, and replacing the dishwasher. A friend suggested getting someone else to look at it before going ahead with the removal. A second opinion from another service man revealed a simple blocked filter, the machine was fixed in 10 minutes, and now runs like new. The man even showed me how to access the filter should the problem occer again. This unit could have wound up in landfill for no reason whatsoever! When I twice called the dispatcher, "Bob", he basically stonewalled me, saying that the individual was "one of his best men". He did not follow up on the complaint, and did not refund the fee for the bogus assessment. I would never call The Appliance Service People again. How could you trust someone who wouldn't even bother to verify his (WRONG!) assessment?

My Bosch dishwasher filled up with water yesterday and after several months of it just not working properly so I called the The Appliance Service People at Bayview and Eglinton. They gave me a full dishwasher education and great service that restored my washer back to brand new. I would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to someone else.
