Townshend Chimney

We hired Townshend Chimney to repair our chimney and do some point work. We appreciate that the work was completed promptly, quietly and professionally. Also, the site was left very clean.

We had a lock top damper install a number of years ago. Recently the cable that controls the lock top broke. Walter Townsends son and another helper arrived, they were professional, courteous, and the repairs were done quickly. Thanks so much.

I contacted several companies for quotes on my chimney repair. Several quoted a complete rebuild of the chimney. Townshend was straightforward that the height of my chimney could be reduced and it didn't require a full rebuild. A couple of others said something similar, but Townshend offered the best price and I liked that they specialized in chimney repair. Jen was a pleasure to deal with and answered all my questions. They took pictures and advised me that I needed a few shingles repaired as they had blown away. I appreciated that. They cleaned up completely and did a good job matching brick, although it's impossible to match perfectly.

All in all, I had an excellent experience with Townshend Chimney.

We had worked with Townshend Chimney many years ago and had a good experience, so we called them again when we had a problem with our chimney crumbling and the fireplace was smoking a bit. We had 3 different companies come give an estimate and we felt that Townshend’s was the most up-to-date and functional for what we needed done. It was also significantly more cost effective, other companies were quoting prices over $2000. We are very satisfied with the work they completed. They came up with innovative solutions to problems that arose and the work looks good, our fireplace works better than it did before. There were no extraneous problems, they arrived on time, were clean, and very polite.

Townshend Chimney was hired to fix the bottom bricks on my garage, which were crumbling. The company was referred to me by a neighbour who had worked with them a few years previously. I’m pleased with the work they did on the garage. While they were here I also asked them to take a look at my chimney, which turns out did not need to be cleaned but they repaired a few bricks at the top of it. Overall I am satisfied with the work Townshend Chimney completed.

They most recently cleaned the chimney, and in 2009 had built the original chimney. I am satisfied with the work they have done. They were very professional, and I was impressed with the precautions they took to find to the dust to ensure a thorough job.

Townshend Chimney were hired to fix some missing grout in my chimney. The job was completed quickly and their price seemed very competitive. They were very clean and overall reasonable.

I hired Townshend to re-build my chimney that was cracked with the mortar falling out. The whole thing had to be torn down and rebuilt. I was under a bit of pressure to get it done quickly so I chose them after only one other quote but their price seemed right. There was some additional work that was needed after the job but they came by and fixed it in appropriate timing.
