Action Movers

Josh and Bobby showed up on time at 9:00 am on October 2nd ready and willing to work. Work they did !! They worked very well together and all of our belongings arrived intact at our new residence. Kudos to them both!!
I would highly recommend Action Movers and their staff to anyone looking for a reputable moving company.

Second time I've used this company to move. Always very efficient, friendly and careful with belongings. Sean and Josh were fantastic, moved fast, and carefully wrapped everything. Price for the service provided is very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone and if I have to move again they'll be my first choice.

Terrible experience!! They dumped our clothing into wardrobe boxes, packed things without paper, and not surprisingly we had breakage. They even packed our compost - full - and put it into storage. They were overpriced and demanded payment in cash!!

I would highly recommend Action Movers. They were super professional, fast, efficient and friendly. They took good care in moving our belongings. I would definitely use them again for a future move.

I want to thank you for sending Ilya and Vlad to load the UHaul truck for me. They were superb! They worked hard and fast but carefully and were very personable. I did the 10 hour drive through the mountains with no concern for load shifting at corners. They only lost a point for being 4 hours later that the time we agreed on but it caused me no undue stress and I did hear from dispatch that they were on a job that took a lot longer than they were scheduled for. Great company policies and I would definitely call again for my next move - yes there will be another…...

I have used this company to move 5 times and every time I have been extremely happy. The guys show up on time, work incredibly hard and enjoy their job and make you feel comfortable with the move. I have referred a number of friends and they have all been happy with their moves as well. Hopefully won't have to move any time soon again, but if I do I will for sure use them again.

I've used Action before in April of 2012, we got 3 men, and a 5 ton truck. These guys were really good, and really quick. Price was good, so we decided to get them again.
Make sure you get everything you will be charged for. I was told $139/hr for 3 men and a 5 ton truck. At the end of the 6 hrs it took them... oh and they were late (ONE OF THE MEN HARDLY DID ANYTHING STOOD AROUND IN THE TRUCK, BROUGHT IN A BOX OR TWO guys were also sitting around and smoking) my final cost was $1210!!! No one told me about a fuel surcharge, which was 10%, i just read a review and they were charged 3% for 3 men and a 5 ton truck, and a bunch of other charges.. this should all be stated when you phone them! Of course we didnt have 1210 bux, they did phone Mark and he dropped the price by 10/hr, still cost over $1000. Had I known about all the extra costs, and if i had been given a quote (i should have asked) I probably wouldnt have gotten this company. For our next move, we will be finding someone else. These guys also moved my mom from surrey to mission and they damaged her computer, but she never said anything to them, she should have phoned. Not happy this time around.

I've used Action Movers twice. The first time (circa 2011) I was very impressed. The movers were attentive, friendly, and time conscious. Thus, when I had to move again a week ago, I knew who to call.

Unfortunately, last week's move did not go very well. The problems began before moving day. They have a box service which I really appreciated using before but I found out that they didn't have a Vancouver location anymore by visiting where the location used to be. This is despite the fact that googlemaps and their website both state that the Vancouver location still exists.

My girlfriend and I were moving in together, so there were two pickups and one drop-off location on moving day. We were supposed to start at 9 AM and we started at 10:20 AM because one of the two movers slept in because he hadn't taken a day off in 11 days straight. The movers were friendly enough, but they were pretty slow. They got my girlfriend's address wrong, adding another half hour or so to the total time, even though I repeatedly told them where she lived. A side table fell off the truck and broke beyond repair. Finally, we were charged an hour driving fee ($99) because they were coming from Burnaby. Thus, be forewarned - if you live in Vancouver, you'll be charged an hour extra for them to just drive to you.

Anyway, I do want to emphasize that the first time that I used Action movers it was basically a perfect move. However, with the problems with the second move they have been inconsistent.

I engaged Action Movers to relocate me from Vancouver to North Vancouver. The move involved two pickup locations and one dropoff location. The two movers that Action sent were friendly and polite. They worked hard to move me quickly and found ways to involve me in the process when I asked to participate. The movers called in advance to confirm my booking and then were 45 minutes late to my pick-up location because it was their third move of the day, but called in advance to let me know, which was very much appreciated.
Unfortunately, a next-to-new dresser was damaged in the move and because it was partially constructed out of particle board, their insurance did not cover it. After reporting it to their office they apologized and offered to reimburse me 50% of the cost of purchasing the dresser new. Although this doesn’t cover the full cost of the dresser, I appreciate their efforts to helping resolve this as they extended themselves beyond their usual Terms and Conditions.
Even with the damage Action Movers was a pleasure to deal with. They accepted constructive feedback positively and were very responsive to my report of damage.
As a general note, however, I recommend everyone to request and carefully review the liability limitations of any moving company prior to engaging them, as they may or may not be appropriate for your type of move.
Action Movers was a good value for my 1 BR residential move. For $95/hr + 3% fuel surcharge I got two moving men and a 5-ton truck! Renting a 5-ton truck for a day would cost you $175 before taxes, fees, and fuel alone.

Action Movers are the best Moving company ever...very personal and very efficient and competent. Useful suggestions ahead of time-,great packing,,no breakages-all members and especially Richard excellent. Reasonable prices. John Allan
