Entire home window replacement
I chose Durabuilt because they were affiliated with a wholesale company and their price looked good after comparing a few quotes. I had 13 windows in my whole house replaced over two different years. The first year I had mostly awning windows installed. I didn't like the very bulky frame around the glass and they greatly reduced the amount of light coming through compared to my old windows. The crew was quite rude too, but they did a decent and speedy job of installation. I asked one guy if he could clean the outside of my upper bathroom window while he was up there on the ladder and he replied "it's not my job". The second year, I had my bay windows replaced. The crew did a good job on the inside, but not the outside. The head subcontractor screwed up and realized that he ordered the wrong size of window for one side of my three front bay windows. He came back by himself to install the window so I was inconvenienced another full day. This guy did the worst job of cutting the casing that I ever saw in my life. There were huge visible gaps in the corners of the casing. After I insisted that he redo the casing, he tried over and over and kept saying that it was hard because the wall was angled. All three walls of the bay window were still flat walls! Furthermore, I had to get all of the outside caulking redone from this second crew because it was all goopy looking and a horrible attempt to fill huge gaps they left around the outside of the windows. They made so many extra trips to my house and I had to take more time off work because of their incompetence and poor quality sloppy installation and messy caulking. Durabuilt windows are OK, but they don't paint any of your casings and caulk perfectly like we saw from another window company that our friends used...they just do a quick sloppy job to make it good from far away and so they can move on to the next job. Up close you could see the poor workmanship from the Durabuilt window installers. Don't ever use a window company that hires subcontractors. I'm generally happy with their windows, but I wish the installation was better and cleaner. Some of the Durabuilt subcontractors took no pride in their work and they thought they were so good because they were fast. They were a joke and I let them know this when they called back for me to complete a survey about my experience with them.
