Affordable Insulation & Renovation, Inc Oakville

This company was referred to us through a window installer. We found our home drafty and the temperature was plus/minus two degrees from the main floor to our second floor. The window installer suggested we give these guys a call as it would probably be the best bang for our buck (a couple grand to do insulation as opposed to a couple grand for one window). Sure enough, he was right.
This company was extremely pleasant to work with - it's a father-son, family owned & operated business and they do a great job. Very professional and friendly. Explained the process to us from start to finish and spent the day to blow the insulation properly so that it won't shrink over time. I would highly recommend working with these guys...very honest and professional. We also noticed a huge improvement in our comfort level in our home and no longer have the varying temperatures on our top floor.

Jason, the salesman explained the process and answered our questions in a friendly, straight forward manner. The quote detailed the services to be provided and outlined the cost for the different options we discussed. Telephone calls and emails were answered within reasonable time.

Sid and Carlisle, the installers were personable and professional. Sid again explained what they were going to do. They worked diligently
throughout the day, were careful not to cause damage, did a thorough cleanup and asked that I inspect their work and surrounding area before they left.

Jason, his father and apprentice Carlisle were the most conscientious and professional team we have had the pleasure to work with...their work was impeccable and absolutely exceeded our expectations. They even put a pillow in the window so as not to damage the casing with the insulation hose. Within an hour of the insulation installation we could feel the difference in the temperature of the house. Integrity, respect, quality are values this family owned business exemplifies and we are grateful to have had them work on our home.

Received a quote from Jason who was very knowledgeable almost three years ago and we decided to go with the company in 2017 as we were impressed. Jason came and ensured nothing had changed and updated the quote. He did not oversell but was realistic. Sid the installer (Jason's father) came on time, was very careful with the house inside and out and showed me the finished product in the attic. As well he did a walk around of the ceiling beneath the attic to ensure no issues. Very thorough. His assistant (Adam?) did a good cleanup of the area. I would definitely recommend the company all around.

Syd came by to assess our attic insulation. He was the only person to take the time to go up in the attic before he gave us a price. The work he did was excellent, we noticed warmer rooms right away. We went with Syd because he seemed knowledgable, honest and fair. We are very happy with our decision to choose Syd and affordable insulation for our home.

Sid and his team did a great job with out attic and at keeping me informed throughout the day on what they were doing and anything unusual they saw in our attic. They took there time and spent all day getting the work done instead of rushing to another job.
I couldn't get up to the attic myself with my toddler around but Sid was nice enough to take photos with his phone and show me the before and after.
We immediately noticed a difference in temperature in our home and have noticed the snow doesn't melt off our roof as quickly which I imagine is a good sign!

We had Jason come out to give us a quote to top up our insulation in preparation for the cold months ahead. Similar to another review I read, we too were told he could not do the job due to mold. Although the mold was contained in a very small area (approximately 3'x3' area in the back of the attic), Jason said they are not insured to go into the attic to do the job if there are any signs of mold. Even though he determined they could not do the job, he took the time to explain to me some possible causes of the mold and answered questions I had about insulation.
I was quite surprised to hear about the mold, because we had 2 other insulation companies give us quotes and nobody noticed (or didn't care that it existed and just wanted to blow insulation in anyway?!?!).
We are now dealing with mold removal services and looking into options for improving ventilation in the attic so we will hopefully never have this issue in the future, and are so grateful that Jason brought this to our attention.
Unfortunately they cannot come back to insulate even after the mold is removed, but for anyone looking for insulation, I highly recommend having them come to look at your attic and give you an honest opinion and quote. Thank you Jason!!!

I just had Jason come over to quote the insulation of my attic in my 1960's home. Unfortunately, due to mold, he is not able to do the work.

But here is the best part; Jason still took the time to educate me. Jason gave me a report on what he saw up there; bathroom venting should be remedied, new baffles were required, no vapour barrier.

Jason told me where the mold was and its severity. He advised that mold remediation would be required and what he thought it may cost. He suggested an air quality test to ensure that the remediation work was done properly.

We talked about the difference between blown vs spray foam insulation, their the value for money. Jason clearly knows his business and his honesty is brilliant.
