There was a mixup from the shingle supplier and the wrong colour was sent (no fault of Steve), and he handled it very well and had the correct colour delivered straight away.

Little details like taking time to nail in the eavestrough nails that were sticking out, putting sealant on the roof vent nails, and attention to detail on the finishing flashing (sharkstooth) did not go unnoticed by a customer like me. Lots of my neighbours commented when the job was done about how nice the finished product looked and how efficiently and respectfully the work got done.

Homestars has done a poor job controlling the reviews placed here as clearly some of them are for the company in Etobicoke.

We had a new roof done last week. Mike and his crew were so professional and informative about what we needed. Other roofing companies told me I needed extra services but Mike was honest and told me it wasn't necessary. I appreciate that he didn't want to rip me off. I got the recommendation from a friend who got their roof done by Mike almost 12 years ago and they never had any problems. Great company!

we hired first choice roofing to change the roof on our home. major leaking began. i called mike the owner on a tuesday. he said he would be in our area on the Thursday of that week. he never showed up, never called me back. nothing!
they charge a cheap price because their workmanship is terrible, their warranty doesn't exit and they will never return if you have any problems.
i would never deal with this company again. mike is not a man of his word and should not be in business.

I just googled First Choice Roofing because of the recent bad reviews. Apparently, there is a company with the same name out of Etobicoke. I am wondering if there has been some confusion in the posting in Homestars. Our experience with the owner, Steve was excellent. Steve and his team were very professional, came when we expected them on time, were very polite, respected our property and cleaned up at the end of the day. The roof was completed in a day and a half as it is a large roof. We had estimates from 3 different roofing companies, Steve by far gave us the best price without sacrificing quality workmanship and service. If Steve is still the owner of First Choice Roofing in Newmarket, we would definitely recommend him. (If ownership has changed, the company profile on Homestars should also be changed.) We saw issues with the new eavestroughs First Choice Roofing had installed on our home during the 1st rainfall after their installation was complete & so I contacted Mike the owner. He hung up on us when we called him and explained the issue we were having. I tried again & again to reach him but he either didn't pick up the phone &/or it went directly to voicemail. He never returned any of my calls nor came by to discuss the problems & come up with a solution to rectify them. I had already paid him in full so there was no cash incentive for him to contact me &/or return. To this day we haven't been able to reach him nor has he made any attempt to contact us. I was initially going to recommend his company to 2 family members and thankfully I did not, saving them the hassle of dealing with a company with no integrity. If Mike wishes to rectify that & come forward & take responsibility, I would appreciate him contacting me.

We used First Choice before on our first home and were happy with their work and the price and decided to use them on our 2nd home. Our 2nd home has 3 skylights. First Choice replaced all 3 skylights along with the roof. After First Choice finished the job our roof started to leak in the kitchen near one of the skylights. We called them back and they resealed around the skylight. The next rain came and the ceiling in the kitchen is leaking and the drywall is ruined. First Choice said they would repair the ceiling but never returned. They eventually came back and made some repairs to the roof but in a month it started to leak again. There is no use in fixing the drywall if the roof still leaks. I soon tired of trying to get them to return so I've been trying to troubleshoot the problem myself. Our skylights were old and so was the roof, but at least they didn't leak. I don't think First Choice knows how to install skylights. I would think twice hiring them if skylights are involved.

Mike and his crew were great to work with. Reviewed several other local roofing companies, but First Choice was the best priced, with same guarantees. Entire project was done in 2 days as scheduled. Everything from start to finish was on time and as agreed. Would highly recommend this company. Don't pay outrages amounts for your new roof, check out this company. Even had pest control in 6 months later as we thought we had squirrels and they comment on how well the roof was done. No squirrels!

installed new roof in my and neighbors' townhouses. Looks good. no issues so far. In general satisfied. price seems to be reasonable. Installed in 2 days without any disruptions. cleaned after themselves.

We had a new roof installed on our two-story house. The owner of First Choice called the night before to confirm his arrival time of 7:00 am the next day. Upon arrival, his team began the pre-installation work immediately and they completed the entire job, including clean-up, in less than 8 hours. After the crew was finished, the owner walked me through the work that was completed as per our agreed to estimate which was a nice touch. I was very impressed with Steve and the entire team at First Choice and have already recommended his services to our neighbours.
