Classic Fireplace and BBQ Store

This is the 2nd fireplace from Classic but buy from the Beach location. Installers from Scarborough, Rick, Nathaniel and Stephen were wonderful. Professional,quick, and easy to have in your home. They rolled out floor covering right from the front door to the back of the house where the work was being done. Long story but I had made a horrible mistake when Ihad very expensive concrete tiles installed and Classic came out to see if the problem could be solved witout ripping off a few thousand dollars worth of tiles. They fixed the problem in no time flat. Sometimes people working in your home can feel quite intrusive. These men went about their work so quietly I was hardly aware they were there. I highly recommend Classic Fireplaces. Obviously since it is the second fireplace I have bought from them. Thank you Rick, Stephen and Nathaniel. You saved me a lot of money and the fireplace looks gorgeous.

The team at Classic is superb. From choosing the fireplace to the installation, my customer experience was awesome. Great installation and a great price in early 2016.

I just had a service/maintenance call for both fireplaces in January 2017 and the service was great. Steve was meticulous and certainly takes pride in his work. Quality through out. Thank you.

Our rec room has a gas fireplace installed ten years previously by the previous owners. The thermostatic remote had stopped working so we called in Classic Fireplace for a general cleaning and inspection and to diagnose the remote. All went well with the cleaning and inspection, but not surprisingly the technician declared the pairing between the remote and the fireplace had died and recommended getting a new one installed. The price would have been $229 plus a service call, putting it at $400 or so. Since that seemed like a lot, and because we don't use the fireplace frequently, I've been procrastinating on a replacement. This fall however, while researching replacements, I happened to find a Youtube video that indicated that occasionally pairings were lost and that there was a simple way (via a secret recessed button) to reset the pairing on my kind of remote. It only took me some new batteries and a few minutes to get my remote working again.

Now, I don't think the technician was deliberately trying to upsell me on a new remote, and if the price hadn't been so high I would gladly have bought a replacement. But on the other hand, this pairing reset seems to be a pretty simple thing (although not obvious to a layman who hadn't read the manual), and I would have been saved a lot of trouble if he had just gone ahead and done the reset.

**** update: The owner contacted me today regarding my concerns. He agreed to a price reduction because service call was probably not necessary. He listened to my concerns and did say that some telephone troubleshooting might have prevented this. He was helpful and I think genuinely wants his customers to be happy. He promised to look into the previous issue. I have some renovations coming up next year requiring gas line installations. I will consider Josh and Classic Fireplace. I purchased a gas fireplace from this company approximately 3 years ago. Last year the bricks started falling off. I called and found that the company had changed warranty would not be honoured. They came and took a look and gave me a $500 estimate. My dad fixed in 15 minutes. The cost of special glue needed was $10 at Home Depot. It was a brick panel.
This time around, I couldn't get the fireplace to turn on. I had the pilot light and remote seemed to be functioning ok. I explained the issue in detail. They suggested a service was needed. The guy came one hour late(from booked time). No call to say running late. He came and the problem was just dead batteries in component under fireplace. He replaced with my own batteries, vacuumed underneath and charged $140. Total visit time:10 minutes. Wow they make more that Dr's and lawyers. That's wild. I'm planning kitchen renovation next year and switching to gas range. Was also considering a gas BBQ. Will definitely be shopping around with these prices and this kind of service.

Just had Jim over to clean and check our gas fireplace. Great work. He was delightful and did a great job. A pleasure to have in our home too!

I purchased two Napolean grills and a Napolean fireplace. The delivery was set up perfectly as a surprise for my father. They arrived right on time and were very friendly. I can't comment on the fireplace as I have not set it up yet, but they had it ready for me very quickly and even stayed a bit lit on a friday to give me time to pick it up. Would recommend to everyone!

Met with Cliff from Beaches location to discuss fireplace installation. Decided to go with Valor Classic Arch. Cliff came to house and took measurements and provided advice.

Dwayne and his son came to install and did a fabulous, quick and clean job!

After a site survey, recommendations and a competitive quote by Josh from Castle Fireplace Scarborough we contracted to have the existing wood burning fireplace and metal chimney removed and a new gas fireplace and venting installed which was completed efficiently and cleanly in few hours.
There was a delay with the custom size backing plate installation due to and error in measuring which Josh rectified by a site visit and now the installation is complete and we are pleased and satisfied with our purchase, installation and service from Classic Fireplace and will recommend their services.

I have wanted a gas BBQ for awhile and the Cliff at Classic Fireplace made it so easy to purchase and have installed. The delivery/ installation team of John and Cameron were the best! They were quick, efficient,thorough and informative. They are such positive guys who obviously care about doing it right. They were extremely careful and considerate. I went to the Whitby store to see the products. In a couple of days a lady came to explain the different possibilities, make measurements. I made the order and in a week the fireplace has been installed. The made a good job. The fireplace works great.
