On Wednesday, the order for the washing machine was placed over the telephone. I confirmed the amount, total that would be billed.
I was told Delivery would occur on Saturday, and that on the next day, somebody would contact me to confirm the delivery. I told that them if Saturday was going to be the delivery date, it would have to be outside the hours of 12-3pm, as the elevator was booked by another unit. I was told that would be no problem. I also requested to have the invoice sent to me, and was advised that he would have it in the mail that afternoon, so it should be there on Friday before the washing machine. (I was skeptical, and I advised him of that). He offered to email it to me. It never showed up.
On Thursday, I did get a call that advised me that the delivery would be on Saturday. Great.
On Friday afternoon, I got a call advising me that the delivery would be between 1 and 3pm and that I would get a call from the delivery vehicle 1 hour before their arrival. I told them that between 12 and 3 the elevator was booked by another person. She advised me that since 1 and 3 is withing 12 and 3, that is ok. I again told her that the elevator was booked by a different person, which is where she started to yell and become very beligerent, advising me that this is when it will be delivered and hung up on me.
I then called to speak to a manager, who I advised of the situation about the delivery, and he told me that he would call me back shortly.
I never heard back from the manager.
On the next Saturday, they delivered the washing machine (attempted to) but as they did not call me, I did not have the time to be there for the delivery.
I called them a few hours after I arrived home and advised of what happened. I spoke to 2 individuals, one of whom was very condescending and accusatory to my situation. The other individual was attempting to resolve things, but was not able to get the delivery attempted later that same day.
They did offer me an extended warranty, but if the customer service is this difficult to deal with not having even received the item, I do not expect it to go any different with the extended warranty.
I will be calling them during the weekday to speak to the owner to advise of what has happened, and see about how to proceed.
Delivery was scheduled for Tuesday morning (between 6:30am and 7;00am) with the stipulation that I will have to leave by 7:00am in order to get to work.
That morning, nobody showed up by that time. At 7:02am, I contacted Joanne Volpe at customer service (on one of our discussions, she advised me to call her if there was a problem on that delivery, as she is in at that time). I did not get any answer, but I left her a voicemail stating that it was already after 7:00am and no delivery has shown up.
I called Appliance Canada throughout the day and eventually got in touch with John Ooulahen (the company owner) who apologized for the repeatedly missed deliveries. He asked me about whether he could arrange to have the delivery done when I was not home and have security let me in. I told him that I was told that * I * had to be home in order to sign for the delivery and the credit card. He said he could arrange to waive the required credit card signing and proceed from there. I told him that I would get back to him with when I could be there to arrange the delivery.
Since that, I have both called and left voicemails as well as emailed John Oulahen throughout the day and have not gotten any responses at all. I have gotten responses from Joanne Volpe, but the responses are of no benefit and simply extending the frustration.
I will wait to see what happens and if the owner does get in touch with me, as requested in the voicemail as well as in the emails where I requested to have him contact me directly.
At this point, this has been such a difficult experience in getting the washing machine and the horrible treatment by certain individulas of the company.
This is the kind of company that seems to value lower prices and put no value on customer service and I will not only not recommend them to any person to purchase any items but I will also ensure that I tell everyone that I know now to even consider them.
