appliance purchase

The staff were very knowledgeable and spent enough time with us to allow us to make the correct choice. We are very happy with the service we received. We did not feel rushed and it felt like they truly wanted to help.

Vent-A-Hood

Purchased range hood from Richmond Hill Location and picked up the following week. Our Sales Rep was not in, so another rep assist us with the package. He helped bring it in to our car. Picked up box himself without asking for help, quite a big item. Dropped it on the ground. Asked if it needed to be inspected but rudely commented, "its still in the box, its fine" proceeded without saying sorry or would you like to check it. Placed it in my car and went back in without anything. 2nd time around with poor closing sales experience. Bought sub-zero refrigerator and experienced similar poor service after business was closed.

Extended Warranty

We purchased five high-end stainless steel appliances from Tasco for our kitchen renovation. We also purchased an extended warranty program on all five appliances. We have just attempted to place our first service call with TASCO for a repair to our dishwasher. It took the company two days to return our call to set an appointment for service. We were then offered an appointment tommorow - technician to arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or the following day - technician to arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m My husband or I will have to take an entire day off work to have our dishwasher serviced? R U serious? Completely unreasonable. If we want to continue washing our dishes by hand until mid next week, they can offer us an appointment time with a four-hour window instead of eight hours. Our last set of appliances were purchased at a competitor and extended warranty was fabulous. When required, appointments were scheduled with a private sub-contractor who returned our calls promptly to set exact appointment times. Extra warranty under TASCO's conditions not worth the money for us. Wish we had know this in advance - would not have purchased our appliances from them. Do your research before committing.

Although you may find that the turn around time is unacceptable this is actually standard practice, it can take 24-48 hours for an authorized service center to contact you to arrange. In terms of the 8 hour window, this is how some service centers work unfortunately Tasco has no control over that. If you do need assistance at expediting parts to complete service, please do give our customer service department a call at 416 642 5600.

Learn from my mistake: avoid salesperson VINNY S. TASCO advertises customer-centered service and a satisfying customer experience. At least with this salesperson, this was not the case: irresponsible, lack of ownership for his clients and interested only in his commision. I had to escalate my problem to head office, management level, to get my issue resolved to my satisfaction.

ELECTROLUX Range and Frisge (French door)

Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator with IQ-Touch™ Controls - all the plastics on the front door and the freezer door started chipping from day one. Ice maker did not produce ice from day one.
30" Electric Built-In Range with IQ-Touch™ Controls - the top controllers are not practically placed and functionality is being compromised over time, due to the poor design. As a new customer you hardly pay attention to those details.
I still do not have the issues resolved.
I have had mainly negative experience with the aftersales relationship with Tasco. They sold me the extended warranty for all my appliances, however they seem to NOT document properly all the associated service calls and it appears as we had never reported the issue. I got to know by name many of their technicians, as they are servicing my appliances too often and issues are not resolved. ELECTROLUX is not backing up their products at this point at all, but trying to get someone else fix the issue. Tasco is sending me to ELECTROLUX for some of the issues. I am in limbo between the two companies. Comerco is the new service provider since 2012 for Tasco, but they have no information on my file from before this, so all service calls are missing from my file. I have no idea who can help since everyone is trying to blame the other company.

new home appliances

we went looking for upgraded appliances for our new home.tried some other dealers,but did not like the service or lack of attention.we went to tasco in mississauga,to check them out ,and found the saleslady lee very pleasant, she was attentive and professional,but not pushy, they have a great selection. we bought our appliances there and are now waiting for delivery.

Kitchen Appliances

We purchased appliances for our new renovated kitchen. We got a KitchenAid range, hood, fridge and Asko dishwasher. Prices are a little high but Salesperson Anna was helpful and delivery of the product itself was quick and they were careful when moving the appliances in. I'm now looking at buying a washer/dryer but price is an issue this time.

Fridge - New Condo

Moved in to a brand new condo in Etobicoke in February (California Condos). All appliances were supplied by Tasco and ownership transferred to me. From day one the fairly inexpensive Frigidaire fridge was making abnormal noise while operating. Like having a huge boiling pot of water boiling all the time in the kitchen. Called Debbie at appliance service at Tasco. She sent a repair person within 1-2 weeks. The repair person did not even want to listen top the problem and said straight out that he can't do anything. I called Debbie back and experienced the worst customer service call I had in my entire life. She was very rude, threatening to hang up and telling me to fix it myself if i'm so sure that there is a -problem.

After complaining to the builder they send their consultant Sebastian and he acknowledged that there is really abnormal noise coming from the fridge. We even made sound recordings. They send out the same repair guy twice, but again without any attempt to diagnose, he replaced some parts but the noise is still there. I asked him to replace the fridge since after 3 repair calls it could not be fixed. He said he will see and call me. I waited several weeks but no call. Finally when I called I was told that Sebastian is no longer with the company. So I asked to speak with his supervisor and was told to speak with Barb. After explaining everything from scratch she said she will see if she can get the fridge replaced and call me back. At this point this is going on for 6 months and all the time I live in a small condo with a very loud fridge. After a couple weeks with no call back I called her again and she said they will not replace the fridge since it is cooling they consider it operational irrelevant of the abnormal noise plus I have it already such a long time, even I complained about it from the first day I moved in my condo.

So I will have to purchase a new fridge since I cant stand the noise, but not before I submit a complaint to Better Business bureau and Tarion new home warranty. It is not about the money, but about principals and this company poor customer service.

PS: they will reply to this bad reviews with "sorry please call 416 642 5600.." etc.. but still won't do anything. I called that number many times before with no resolution. That was the reason I left this review ... to want other people of this bad company.

Appliances

I bought my kitchen appliances from Tasco in 2006 and left the store feeling good about what I bought. The fridge was the perfect size, the over the range microwave was beautiful, the slide in stove was ultra modern (at the time) and the dishwasher was the quietest on the market!!! The salesman assured me everything we picked out was top of the line. The salesman also convinced us to get the extended warranty through Tasco (which we did not want to get because they seem like a money grab), however he told us about this WONDERFUL program you have where if after 5 years you have not used your extended warranty, you get it as a credit towards a future purchase at Tasco Appliances. This seemed like a great program and we knew in 5 years we would need/want a new washer and dryer, so we bought the extended warranty through Tasco for all 4 appliances.
With regards to our actual purchase we had a few minor hiccups regarding the delivery process. First of all, when the appliances arrived, the slide-in stove didn't quite fit the standard opening as promised so we were forever left cleaning crumbs under the slight gap between our stove and counter top. The fridge and microwave were awesome.....no complaints there. The dishwasher was not actually delivered on our scheduled date......apparently it was stuck in Korea. Our salesperson explained that the boat with our dishwasher on it was not clearing customs in Korea, and that they could not guarantee we would ever get it........!???? He said we could come in and choose another one. The closest dishwasher to the one we ordered ended up being $300 more, and he wouldn't even give it to us for the same price as the one we originally ordered. So, we ended up in our new house without a dishwasher and spending $300 more than we financially planned for.
Fast forward 4 and a half years: We called to inquire about our 'credit' with Tasco because we were in the market for a washer and dryer. We called the store and they told us that we had to wait until the 5 year mark from the original purchase date, and that we still had another 6 more months before we could use the credit.....so we bought our washer and dryer somewhere else.
In 2011 an email was sent stating that there were even MORE restrictions on our 'credit' with Tasco....apparently we have to wait 5 years to use it.......then once the 5 years is up we have a limited amount of time to use it before it expires!????? (all of which was NOT explained at the time of purchase). AND to top it all off, we cannot use the entire credit at once......we have to use each appliance warranty 'credit' separately. (also NOT explained to us at the time of purchase). I called today to use my 'credit' for a new dishwasher and was told that it expired 4 months ago.........4 months ago.......as in the time when I did not need a new dishwasher.........I have tried to use this so called 'credit' multiple times and each time I get told I have to wait or 'oh sorry it has expired'. This sounds like a money grab to me......a promise that they had no intention of fulfilling.....so basically it sounds like very poor business practice.

Undelivered Promises on Large Order

My sister and I ordered and paid for *in full* 5 commercial grade (or as close as possible to) appliances, recommended by a Tasco sales chap, for our home end of June. It was promised that everything except a fridge would be delivered by July 19th! We had to fight to obtain a loaner fridge. July 19th the rest of the delivery did not take place, leaving us without a washing machine etc, which was really needed because we didn't have one. When we went to escalate this found out the sales guy that made the promises actually quit that week! After a lot time spent escalating and attempting to get a commitment, the replacement new sales chap told us the washing machine was *in stock* and would be delivered Aug 10th.

Aug 10th no delivery again. Once this happened we tried escalating to store manager again, we left voicemails etc and nobody called us back. We tried to call and escalate through the head office and the handlers just put us back to the dufferin store. Left vmail, no call backs from manager again. No loaner machine or other workable arrangement was offered. We tried to get the name of the store managers boss but nobody would provide this. You can tell by the way they handle calls that what they are VERY well practiced at is aversion of complaints/escalations. That should tell a story in itself.

Bottom line is their behavour really demonstrates, from store to head office, that customer service seems to be a low priority, even for larger orders where full payment was made almost 2 months ago. They make promises (in writing/email too!) they can't keep wrt delivery dates. There's no escalation. They don't work to make amends or alternative arrangements when they don't meet obligations promised. If this is the aggravation one has to go through on the purchasing/delivery end, I hate to speculate what the service on the appliances is actually like.

I've never experienced this level of unprofessionalism as long as I can remember. Very frustrating and time consuming.

The only positive thing I can say is that the Tasco Distribution People tried to do what they could to help and did call back. They were very apologetic and professional as could be.
