S & J Kay Teem Drywall

We hired Anthony on the understanding that there was only one critical factor, and that was time. I had a small window of opportunity when my family would be out of the house and before our floors were laid. He said he could start on Wed and be done on Sun. Wed came around and he said he overbooked, Thur same except he said he would senf two crews out to make up for lost time. Friday two guys showed up and one left after a couple of hours. When we came home on Sunday the drywall had even been completely hung yet. I got more of the same for the rest of the week which was a lot of song and dance. He came out to work himself until midnight on two nights, but that just shows his lack of organization, not motivation. Plus, having drywallers working in the house when the kids were sleeping was ridiculous. The floors were to be installed on Friday morning and on Wednesday night when I suggested we renegotiate our contract he refused to speak to me about but except to say "If I want my money from you get my money from you." In the end they finished at 6:00 pm on Thurs night with what amounted to a thick coat and a skim coat. He's charismatic, but not professional. Definitely the most stressfull contractor I've hired to date. The work itself looks fine for now, but if you don't want chest pains and migraines, don't bother.

I had to call Anthony in to repair a good section of my kitchen wall as a plumber had cut through it to fix a cracked drain. I showed Anthony what had to be patched up and mentioned that I wanted the insulation replaced as it got wet from the broken drain.
He said that wasn't a problem and immediately went to work. Well as soon as he pulled out the insulation, he noticed the drywall behind was very wet. He told me that it would be unwise for him to continue until the drywall behind dried out. He said we should let it air out for the weekend and even put a fan to it to ensure it was completely dry. He said he wouldn't change me for a return visit and his original quote will not change.
On his return visit, he patched up the kitchen wall in no time. He had quite a bit of drywall compound left and he went around my house fixing nicked walls and chipped corners. Best of all, he sealed my dryer vent connection to the outside. Also, he was very mindful of his mess and made sure he cleaned each one up.
The next day he came back to do some sanding and was going to repaint the wall for us. I told him to forget about painting as my wife wants to redo the kitchen colour scheme but hasn't decided on a new colour yet. I told him we'll do the painting ourselves.
Anyway when it came to settle the account, Anthony stuck to his original quote and didn't even charge for the extra work he did around my house. I didn't think that was fair, so I actually gave him a little more than what he asked for. He was really appreciative of that.
Usually I'm apprehensive whenever I have to call someone to do work in my home as you hear so many horror stories of people getting ripped off. It's great when you can happen upon a good, honest professional who takes pride in his work. Needless to say, I kept Anthony's card for future reference and would highly recommend him.
