New Windows

I contacted Jemal of Consumers Choice through the recommendation of a family member who is my go to person for doing careful and thorough research. One of the main reasons for choosing the company is because they have been in business for over 40 years and that gave us confidence. Another reason is the wonderful, courteous, kind, patient and very professional Jemal who did an outstanding job. He came highly recommended and lived up to the billing because I changed my mind serval times regarding the colour and style of the windows. Thank you Jemal for your patience, your professionalism and your attention to detail. Jemal had to attend to my house a second time and walk me through the process serval times through email correspondence. The windows were replaced over the course of three days and the installers were great. Terry, the installer and his partner impressed me with their work ethic, efficiency and cleanup. The job was done as planned and to my complete satisfaction. These guys are hard workers and take pride in their work and it shows. My windows look great! Thank you so much my house looks new again!

New windows & patio door

We met with David Hunter (sales) back in late January to get a quote for our house. He's efficient, knowledgeable, super-friendly and gave us good advice. The windows are ready for installation in mid-May and two installers came for 3 consecutive days and finished everything on time leaving no mess behind. They are professional, courteous and helpful. We are very happy with the overall experience and would recommend to our friends.

Window Installation

Iam extremely satisfied with the work done. Right from the start their salesperson David Hunter did a great job in making us comfortable. He explained in detail how the rebate system works. He gave us the best possible service. Product delivered is excellent. The workers who did the job did a excellent job. They worked hard without rest and completed the job. And a good job done. They were very helpful, courteous and pleasant and stuck to the job. They cleaned the place and helped me put things in place.

Windows replacement

Good experience from initial consultation with Jemal Cedeno/sale to final installation and job completion. One of the only companies that committed to replacing an old sagging bay window with a new one and promising to reuse the recently installed wooden California shutters.

Majority of the installers wouldn't put in writing that they commit to this or simply wouldn't agree to the job. Consumer's choice put everything in writing and they picked their most experienced installation team for the job. They came and measured on two different occasions to ensure the shutters went back in as they should. Installation of all windows/bay window/re re of shutters took just under a week.

BEWARE ! DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY !! FALSE ADVERTISING !!

We had all our windows replaced, double hung and casement and two sets of patio doors installed with a LIFETIME WARRANTY.The installation was done well and they looked good at the time. As the years passed every window has failed in some way ! Parts of the double hung window frames have fallen apart, windows no longer open because of failed slider mechanisms, patio door window seals have failed creating moisture in between and barely slide open because rollers fell apart and the casement windows when cranked open, the rod falls out of the bottom of the window. We have called many times over the years about the lifetime warranty and have been given every excuse that there is no coverage, told that there is a charge for them to look at the problem and now told that the manufacture is out of business. They put you off hoping you just go away! What is the point of having a lifetime warranty when virtually nothing is covered. They promise you everything to get your business but will not honour any product installed.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!

Buyer Beware - Window Replacement for our House

The Sales Rep, Joe, was knowledgeable and great to work with, but way overpromised on delivery date. They seem to have little control over the manufacturer (a 3r party) and are unable to prioritize orders or provide me with an accurate ETA. I am concerned over the quality of the windows due to the same lack of control. Due date was originally April 21st (written in the contract) later changed to April 25th, May 11th, May 25th. At this point I have little confidence on this ‘final’ completion date.
Their Customer Service team is friendly, always pick up the phone and are respectful, but their lack of control in the manufacturing process is discouraging and frustrating. Days would go by without hearing back from the manufacturer on status. They would blame delays on the Green ON rebates, but they should have known how many orders were in the pipeline when I signed up.

Good Afternoon Private User. As no name was given I am unable to look up specific information about your install. Yes. The GreenOn Rebate has proven to be very challenging to the entire window industry in regards of providing customers with ETA of their windows. At Consumer's Choice we are continuing to adapt and improve our processes as quick as possible to meet the demand of clients and the GreenOn Rebate program. I would like to discuss your personal experience with us in more detail. Feel free to call me directly, Paul V 416-335-8353 Thank you for your time.

Consumer's Choice - Do not use this company

In the summer of 2016, I called Consumers’ Choice because the wood fascia boards along the eaves of my house were deteriorating. There were visible signs of rot at some corners, and overall it was looking shabby. That is the problem I wanted fixed. Their salesman/estimator recommended covering the wood fascia boards with aluminum flashing, and installing aluminum soffits as well. He said this would give it a clean, fresh, modern look. I agreed to this.
During several storms in winter/spring 2018, large sections of the fascia and some parts of the soffits were ripped off by the high winds (see photos below).
When I contacted Consumer’s Choice, they eventually sent someone to examine the damage, and refused to take any responsibility for the problem because the wood under the flashing was deteriorating. Well, that was the problem they were hired to fix. After many phone calls and emails, I finally gave up and posted an initial unfavourable review on Homestars. Within a few days I got a call asking me to take down the review, and in return they would make things right. I agreed to this. But in the end, all they agreed to do was reinstall the flashing if I got some other contractor to replace the wood first.
So I called another contractor for a second opinion, explained what had happened, and asked them to come, look at the damage, and recommend what should be done. When the new contractor arrived, the very first thing he said as he got out of his truck was “Well, no wonder the flashing came off, it was installed incorrectly. They did not use enough screws, and they did not put screws in the necessary locations.”
So I hired the new contractor to replace all the damaged sections, and add more screws as necessary. The job is now done properly, no thanks to Consumer’s Choice. They refused to take any responsibility for their poor workmanship and incorrect installation.
They also claimed that I had said I did not want to replace the wood initially, which was not true, and insisted that the problem was the deteriorating wood (the problem they were hired to fix) rather than their poor workmanship.
Their website says “Your satisfaction will always be our primary goal”; this is complete rubbish, just like their workmanship and sense of responsibility. Do NOT use this company.

Top floor windows replacement

Had a great experience overall. From the initial sales meeting with Rob, great guy and always available for questions, right down to the install with Scott, an amazing guy who provided top notch service!!! Both Rob and Scott made the experience great and for that reason alone, I will recommend and use this company again. As for the windows, they look great. We’re very happy with our decision as we’ve already noticed a huge difference upstairs (both heat and sound). I will provide an update after 1 year use of the windows. A tip, if you’re planning on getting windows or doors, ask for Rob and Scott.

Bad warranty and RIP off service charges

I replaced my whole home with windows and patio doors
I had an issue approx 2 years ago with 1 window
The seal was gone
I had to fight tooth and nail to get it replaced
The issue was they wanted there service charge payment before any work was completed
I never pay before work is complete, the most standard rule when dealing with contractors
This went on for 3 months
I had to take them to the better business bureau
Got it done and I paid the service charge

Now I have an issue with my patio door the screen fell out
I was able to get 3 of the 4 wheels back on its track
I call CONSUMERS CHOUCE and they are telling me they are charging 150 dollars to fix it.
A 3 minute job and that was the gentleman's own words over the phone that said it would only take 3 minutes to fix.

I guess they dont like to service their work

I will NEVER use this company again and I will post this on every website that people are looking for reputable contractors and they will have to learn the hard way

I am truly disappointed that customer satisfaction is not on their list
