windows

Received a flyer in the mail and called consumers choice for a free estimate. Sales rep very helpful. We compaired their price to home depot and for about the same price we received superior windows with more options and a better lifetime guarantee. The windows were installed last week and we are very pleased. The installers were very polite and tidy, they even vaccumed after the job. We recommended consumers choice to my parents for their window and door project

Window Installation

POST 1 We had a terrible experience with Consumer's Choice. Having retained their services through the Home Show, things started off very well, but fell to pieces quickly and after 5 months continues to remain unresolved. There were numerous delays on their part as well as from the manufacturer's perspective due to custom sizing of some windows, but we as customers were not kept informed. Consumer's Choice even changed our order without consulting us which resulted in further unnecessary delays. On two occasions we had specific dates set for installation and twice they were cancelled last minute. Upon installation, glass shards from the old windows and cigarette butts were found all over the exterior and interior of our home (glass only inside). While one installer was polite and respectful, the other used vulgar language extensively and even insulted our heritage. The installation itself was not without error as measurements had been taken incorrectly. Granted that a reasonable solution was implemented, one window remained crooked and once again we were stood up on our set repair date. The employees across various departments have been rude and utterly incompetent. Some were polite, but none was willing to accept responsibility for the poor service and we remain disgruntled. Our experience has already cost them four or five potential referrals from our neighbors and friends. I hope you have a better experience if you decide you still wish to engage Consumer's Choice. "
POST 2 Well, it's been a few months since our original review was posted and I guess it truly can't hurt to complain. Since July, we've had some difficulties, but eventually we got the attention we were looking for. While nothing was done for those windows already installed in terms of price concessions, they have offered us a significant discount on future window installations. Normally, I would refrain from entertaining the idea by mere principle, but everyone deserves a chance at redemption so we've decided to let them prove themselves. I'll let you know how it goes.
POST 3 We had Consumer's Choice come back and finish the remaining windows in our house. The work went very smoothly and the installers were professional, polite, clean and efficient. Unfortunately, some minor damage was done to small cabinet in our bathroom, but the company was quick to agree to a fair credit against our invoice. As I mentioned last time, everyone deserves a second chance and I'm glad it was a positive experience. Based on our overall experience, I'd like to rescind my rating of 2 star and bump it to... oh say 6 (an average of our poor 2 star experience and recent 10 star experience).

New windows, New door, Patio door

I had all windows replaced plus a new front door and a new patio door. My home is a condo townhouse so I had some restrictions regarding colours. The salesperson really laid out all the options and worked well around my schedule in setting up the installation. The installers were great. The worked quickly but thoroughly and finished in 1 1/2 days. He went that extra mile to install one window that was not accessible from outside and he had to manoeuvre the outside work from the inside. The did an amazing job.
