Consumer's Choice - Do not use this company

In the summer of 2016, I called Consumers’ Choice because the wood fascia boards along the eaves of my house were deteriorating. There were visible signs of rot at some corners, and overall it was looking shabby. That is the problem I wanted fixed. Their salesman/estimator recommended covering the wood fascia boards with aluminum flashing, and installing aluminum soffits as well. He said this would give it a clean, fresh, modern look. I agreed to this.
During several storms in winter/spring 2018, large sections of the fascia and some parts of the soffits were ripped off by the high winds (see photos below).
When I contacted Consumer’s Choice, they eventually sent someone to examine the damage, and refused to take any responsibility for the problem because the wood under the flashing was deteriorating. Well, that was the problem they were hired to fix. After many phone calls and emails, I finally gave up and posted an initial unfavourable review on Homestars. Within a few days I got a call asking me to take down the review, and in return they would make things right. I agreed to this. But in the end, all they agreed to do was reinstall the flashing if I got some other contractor to replace the wood first.
So I called another contractor for a second opinion, explained what had happened, and asked them to come, look at the damage, and recommend what should be done. When the new contractor arrived, the very first thing he said as he got out of his truck was “Well, no wonder the flashing came off, it was installed incorrectly. They did not use enough screws, and they did not put screws in the necessary locations.”
So I hired the new contractor to replace all the damaged sections, and add more screws as necessary. The job is now done properly, no thanks to Consumer’s Choice. They refused to take any responsibility for their poor workmanship and incorrect installation.
They also claimed that I had said I did not want to replace the wood initially, which was not true, and insisted that the problem was the deteriorating wood (the problem they were hired to fix) rather than their poor workmanship.
Their website says “Your satisfaction will always be our primary goal”; this is complete rubbish, just like their workmanship and sense of responsibility. Do NOT use this company.

Consumer's Choice have now agreed to investigate and fix this

In summer of 2016, I hired Consumer’s Choice to replace all the soffits and fascia on our home at a cost of $15,000. During the ice storm in mid-April, and the wind storm on May 4th, large sections of the fascia and some parts of the soffits were ripped off by the high winds (see photos below). This happened because the screws they used to attach the material were tiny – about half an inch long – and clearly inadequate for the job. The screws had worked loose in several places, allowing the wind to catch the exposed edges of the sections and rip them off. When I contacted Consumer’s Choice, they refused to take any responsibility for their poor workmanship, and advised that because the work was more than a year old, they would do absolutely nothing. I initially published this review on Homestars with a rating of 0. Consumer's Choice contacted me as a result of this review and have offered to "make things right". I have changed the review to a 5 for now, and will update again when the work is completed.
