Maret's Quality Home Cleaning

We found Maret through Homestars, and figured that since enough people had such good things to say, it was probably a safe bet. We had our house cleaned the day before we moved in, as the previous owners had left it in less than spectacular condition.

Maret came out for an estimate a couple of weeks before, and was very prompt, which was appreciated. She gave us a very detailed account of what was to be done, as well as the amount of time for each task. We were able to remove certain things that we didn't need done, which was helpful.

Be sure to book a major cleaning in advance so that you get the day that you want, as they have a wait list otherwise.

On the day of the clean, their team was at the house right when they said they would be, and brought all their own equipment, which was also very helpful.

Overall, the quality of their work was very good, and the house was cleaned very well. However, there were a few areas, specifically in the kitchen, that weren't done quite as well as we would expect for the price paid. For example, there were some difficult to see areas in the cupboards that were not cleaned well and had food and other bits of things left behind, which we easily spotted when putting our things away. This would have been caught if they were checking their work a bit better. We also noted that the kitchen light fixture was not cleaned, despite the assurance that every small nook and cranny would be addressed.

We contacted Maret to point out some of the major deficiencies, and appreciated that she was very open to our comments and even refunded us for some of the items missed.

The clincher to this is that I'm not sure what the house would have looked like if we'd found a cheaper service to use. It likely would have been worse, with more areas missed. We were generally very satisfied with Maret's work. I would recommend to people using this or any service to set aside time at the end of the work day to do a careful walk through of the house while the cleaners are still there, to make sure that you're satisfied with their work, and to pick up if they missed anything, and can thus have it dealt with on the spot.

We hired Maret to clean our home last fall and have been extremely satisfied with the service. I was apprehensive to hire another cleaner since my experience has been that the first couple of cleans are great and then they slowly taper off do doing very little for some reason. Sandra has been cleaning our house and she is an absolute star. I don't have to worry that something hasn't been done and have to re-clean afterwards. Maret's company charges a little more but knowing that the cleaning will be done properly is worth every penny!

Awesome Job! The crew showed up early (always a good sign). My house had a significant amount of dust due to cutting of wood, drywall dust, etc. They got all the nooks and spaces clean. I firmly believe you get what you pay for. They were attentive, detail oriented, and prepared. Did in immaculate job! I would recommend them to anyone and I would certainly use them again!

I have had this company clean my house for over a year now. My house is spotless when they are finished and there is good communication with Maret, the owner, if I need to change the date or time for cleaning. All of her personnel are friendly, work hard, are trustworthy and care about the job they do. I highly recommend this company.

We had never used a cleaning service prior to calling Maret's. However, we got too busy to continue trying to maintain it ourselves and decided to make the call. Our expectation was that even if we got a mediocre job done, at least we'd be 70% there and we could do the rest ourselves, which would save us a chunk of time.

Our original quote from Maret was high but we quickly understood why - she was extremely detailed and gave us costs by line item so that we could basically select from a menu of options. We chose about $500 worth of services and they came in to do the job within the week.

Her team was friendly and the supervisor, Jacqueline, was great. When we got home from work, the house looked great! They did a wonderful job on a 150 year old house that's been in a state of renovation for the last three years. We are very pleased that we called!

The experience we had we Maret and her cleaning company was exceptional for several reasons. Maret spent 30 minutes with us to provide a thorough, detailed review of all tasks and time that it would take to carry out the tasks. We needed the entire house cleaned to put our house up for sale and timing was crucial. Maret worked with our timeline and made it happen. Maret arrived on time that morning with a team of 5 people and room by room she reviewed the tasks with them. She also has an onsite supervisor who will check to see that her very high expectations were met when she left the crew for the day. The team was thorough, professional and paid attention to details. The house was spotless and everything was left in perfect order. What was important to me was that the floors were handwashed. Mops usually do not pick up every dustball! We have now hired Maret to clean our new house! We definately would recommend her to our friends and family.
