Rocker recliner

Furniture is junk. Bought 2 chairs from the scarborough location. took the day off to have the delivery 1 chair came ripped. took another day off 6 weeks later for the repair. 3 months outside the manufacturer's warranty the screws on the rocker pulled apart making the chair useless. Called the extended warranty company, told them the problem and offered to send photos or Skype so that the repairman could get a proper idea as to what the problem was. I did not want to take another day off work for the repairman to tell me he sis not have the parts to make the fix. The would not allow this so you can guess what happened, he came took one look at the chair and said we needs more parts. I have now been waiting 3 months for the new parts and no one from the store or the extended warranty company will call me back. No customer service PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH LA Z BOY.
The 2nd chair we bought the same day is now twisting and has become unstable as the screws have stripped out of their holes.

poor servic

Leg scratched loading chair into vehicle. Manager saw damage and ordered a new leg. FOUR phone calls from warranty dept, they will not replace it unless I bring in the old leg first, or send photo which I cannot do, no camera on phone. The mananger saw the damage and she was the one to order part, but I am suppose to bring in the leg before they believe it was scratched. Would never buy from there again, and will advise others not to as well.

pull out couch

Cheaply made. Throw pillows fell apart within weeks. Regretted buying the blow-up matress but I'm stuck with it they have no sympathy (I had asked to trade for a regular matress or buy a new one for a reduced price). They have no customer service skills. Will never shop there again and will recommend against it to friends.

Reclina-Rocker Chairs

Ordered 2 Reclina-Rocker's and from day 1 they creak and squeek steady. Had them fixed multiple times. Do yourself a favour and save your money for a better product. Lazy boy isn't the company they used to be.
Might as well be made in china.

Custom Sofa Upholstery

We ordered a custom Collins Premier Sofa and matching chair from the langley location. We wanted Grey. The sales girl was helpful and found a great colour for us to work with. She printed out the picture and it came out green, but assured us, it was grey. The printer was acting up and that is why it looked green but it was absolutely grey. After getting our furniture, for the tune of 4000.00, it is green, not grey. Their solution was to redo it since it wasn't right. I thought, wow.. I'm glad I bought from Lazyboy.. But.. yes there is always a but.. in the fine print it says.. custom furniture is subject to a 30% restocking fee. If she would have said 'this has a green tinge, is it going to work for you', Then I would have made the decision that worked for me, and took the responibilty for it, however it was 'this is grey.. the printer is bad. There is no way I am going to give them another 600.00 to get a 'couch you absolutely love' I should have loved it from the get go.. not get something I don't like and have to live with.. I should have shopped at a big box store and saved money and frustration

Worst Sofa Purchase Ever

I was in the market searching for a new couch for my new apartment. I checked out La Z Boy because of my parent’s old La Z Boy sofa that I loved since I was younger.

I was greeted by a nice and cheerful sales lady.
I sat on a few models before sitting on the Collins which felt like a really comfy cloud with lots of depth in the show room. I made an impulse purchase on the Collins sofa and extended warranty after the sales lady sold me on the quality of La Z Boy sofas.

I received the sofa after waiting 8 weeks for delivery. The moment I received the sofa I was extremely disappointed. It was just not as comfortable as the model in the store.
The cushions seemed to break down really fast and these really large separations between the cushions started to develop making this couch become extremely uncomfortable.

After a year of trying to make due by shifting the cushions together I had enough and went to La Z Boy to complain. I had spent $1500+ on a couch that I cannot bring myself to sit on because of the lack of support.

After the technician inspected my couch, he concluded that the cushions are not defective they’re supposed to break down and become unsupportive after a year. La Z Boy 1 Year warranty on Cushions Complain Early People

However he concluded the arms are defective because the baffle has let go allowing the cushions to shift and move around more than intended, thus causing increased wear on the edges of the cushions that wear separating.

I have spent $1500+ 1.5 years ago on a couch that I am now planning on replacing.
This piece of furniture is so uncomfortable I find myself sitting on the floor in front of the couch using the flat front as a back rest.

Q: What are extended warranties for furniture?
A: ??????????

Also bad reviews get squelched here, don’t expect to see many negative reviews or even this review. As well I’m sure La Z Boy writes some of their own reviews

sectional

In a nutshell - we received our sectional just prior to Christmas 2013 - it was poorly done. Backs of each piece were uneven (different heights)- - backs didn't line up with the bottom (backs were wider or narrower than the 'seat'). They redid the backs, and it is better, but still noticeable. They actually told me "Showroom standards are not our manufacturing standards" (is that not false advertising??) I would only purchase showroom models. Give customer service points for trying I guess - but they wore me down. Note: i have surveyed friends/family - and they all agree - I was starting to think I was being too picky!! In fact, they think I should pursue it with them still, but i just don't have the energy for it. So beware ... in this case, you really don't get what you pay for!

Arm Chair

I purchased a chair June 2013 from Lazy Boy Furniture on 171 Street Edmonton. Two months later I noticed loose fabric coming from one of the arms. After further investigating, I found the fabric wasn't attached to anything on the inside of the chair. The store sent over one of their service personnel and he advised that it was very common in these wide back chairs and that is why they have discontinued this style of chair. They couldn't guarantee me that it wouldn't happen again. I contacted the sales person (Tom) who said he would make it right and get back to me. 2 weeks went by and I didn't hear from him so I again contacted him. He advised me the service dept. was being difficult and he will get back to me shortly. Again, I didn't hear anything so I again called back. This went on until December. I got very busy and didn't pursue it any further. I am living with it. However, I do tell people of the low quality furniture and the awful customer service they give. In my opinion, they are selling very low quality furniture at very, very inflated prices. I am disappointed in the quality of product and service. According to the reviews, they could take a lesson in customer service from the BC stores

Laz Boy

We ordered a couch set from Lazyboy here in Calgary. First off the sales guy told us 8-12 weeks. When the couch finally arrived after 12 weeks, and many phone calls to lazy boy, they tried to schedule a delivery 2 weeks in advance. Since our house was empty and my parents were coming before the delivery date, I had to go pick up the couch and rent a truck. I subsequently dropped the corner piece off the back of the truck and had to take it back to get it fixed. It took an additional 4 months for them to fix the piece.

- Lazboy has no clue about service....You have to call them for everything.
- The furniture comes from north carolina and thus takes for every. I should note that we ordered furniture from other stores in calgary and delivery times were shorter than what we were told when we bought it....unlike lazy boy.
SO my recommendation, even though the furniture is nice.....never never never buy furniture in Canada from these clowns.
