Pool Renovation and Maintenance

I have been a customer of Jameson Pool and Spa for many years. I use their opening and closing service, have had them replace parts as they get old such as the sand filter and pump, use their water testing service and buy the pool chemicals. Last year they replaced the liner and installed LED pool lights. I have always found the staff to be courteous, friendly and very knowledgable. I email Vi regularly with questions and to make appointments. She responds quickly and has always been very helpful.

This season I decided to enroll in Jameson's weekly pool maintenance service. Jessica did a thorough and excellent job and I am delighted that this summer I can just sit back and enjoy my lovely pool - no work involved!

Inground Pool Design/Installation

Outstanding ownership, amazing service...can't say enough good things about this company. Paul came in with his ideas for our difficult yard and gave us his perspective. We were looking at 3 companies and chose his...no regrets! They were quick, accurate and a pleasure to deal with. Many neighbours have used them too. So nice to know you can call the owner if you have troubles (not that we had any). Highly recommend this company!!!!

Pool install

Jameson Pool installed our pool and completed our back yard landscaping through the summer of 2011. There were several small issues with install that were corrected to our satisfaction. They closed and opened our pool as scheduled. I am VERY happy with my pool and landscaping and would recommend Jameson Pool to anyone for this service.

Pool and Landscape

We had Jameson put in a pool and do our patio this year. They comleted the pool and patio before expected, it was done in about 2 1/2 weeks.
Everyone at Jameson is very professional and the crew were all very courteous, hard working and clean. Paul (the owner) was by on a regular basis to make sure everything was going smoothly.
The designer Connor helped us with all the planning and colors and everything looks fabulous. I know there are some bad reviews but I would just like to say I would highly reccomend Jameson to anyone putting in a pool. They treat you like family and have all done a great job and worked with us to help build our dream backyard. Thanks to everyone at Jameson for their dedication in making dreams come true.

Pool Opening

I must say I am suprised at the level of service (read, LACK OF) we received for our pool opening recently and the lack of customer service from one of the GTA's largest pool installers. I would have expected that the service department be a more complementary factor to the number of installs they do to keep revenue up but after our experience I can only do fellow pool owners justice with the following review.

We opted for the full opening. They neglect to tell you they don't do heater start up until after you book it and its in small print in the email. Fair enough. We don't have a ladder or board so that wasn't required, my loss no biggie. Our winter tarp the previous owners used was leaky and all the leaves had fallen in and made a mess. So what do the openers do? The pulled off about 80% of what was there and dumped the rest in the pool!!! I told them not to clean the cover as it was garbage. I just saved them two jobs and they added more to my work.

I asked about the heater opening at the perfect time as the guy was standing in front of it smoking a cigarette thinking it was abandoned. I know he does this every day, but really? Smoking in front of a gas heater?

They were to clean the deck area, and they didn't. Sent pictures to the manager. They were to scrub the scum lines, they only scrubbed the steps. We called and left a voicemail and were offered a $25 credit. I sent the pictures and were offered $50 and nothing more for the extra ~$200 service we paid for.

They aren't a turnkey company either which is odd. Gave me a number for a diver for our leak, and the heater startups they don't handle either.

Won't call them again, this was really not a great experience except for the half dozen hose clamps he threw in.

New Pool & Waterfall

We had a new pool and water feature installed by Jameson in the spring of 2010. All the neighbours were amazed how quickly things went. We are very happy with the final product, and have been happily swimming for the last 2 summers! We have also used their services to open and close the pool each year. I have been happy with their service department, and take my water for testing every 2 weeks there. This is a local company (owner lives in Oakville) and we have recommended to others as well.

New Pool liner

Sorry I chose this company. Worst customer service ever. Pool liner is five years old and I need a new one. I've had several pool companies out and all have said it was the worst job they have ever seen.
When I first had the liner put in I complained about the protruding bumps. Some how that was my fault. Every thing was my fault until the year warranty was up and then they said they didn't want me as a customer.
DO NOT USE THEY PEOPLE!!

Customer Service for Pool Opening

I called Jameson Pool to book an appointment for our pool opening and spoke with a woman named Vi. She gave me May 31st and told me that they would be there between 9-11 am. I asked her if she could be a little more specific on the time but she told me no that I would have to call her that morning to find out exactly what time they would be there. Vi rushed me off the phone and was quite rude and abrupt.
When the day came (May 31st), I waited around for the crew to show up. It was now 11:15am so I called Jameson Pool and asked to speak with Vi to find out what time they were showing up but I got someone else who told me that Vi was busy with a customer. I then explained to this other person what I was calling for. She took my information down and told me she would call me right back to let me know. When she finally called me back, she explained to me that they had switched my appointment till the end of the day. I was quite angry and asked her why nobody contacted me to let me know. She told me she wasn't sure. When I explained that this was unacceptable and voiced how angry I was, I was then put on hold only to get Vi come back on the phone and ask me what the problem was. Once again, she was nothing but rude and abrupt with me and denied ever giving me a time frame when I booked the appointment with her. I told her that yes, she had told me it would be between 9-11am. We argued back and forth (which is unprofessional) only to be told that I didn't have a choice but to accept that they would be there at the end of the day. Not even 5 minutes after hanging up the phone with her, the crew was knocking at my front door!!! Talk about unorganized and mis-communication with their staff!!!

Later, when my husband got home, he went out to inspect the work and looked at the bill. They had charged us an extra $40.00 to just turn on our waterfall!! We never asked them to do that as I think we are more than capable of doing it ourselves. This probably should have been included in the price anyway! He had a few questions so he called Jameson Pool and asked for Paul the owner. He wasn't available so my husband left a message to have him call him as soon as he could. It'll be interesting to see how long this takes.

Open/Close Service

As was noted in a previous review Scott and Amanda provide an excellent level of service as I too have found over the last few years. However be sure to request both by name for any service call as the level of service provided by other members of the service staff is poorly lacking.

In particular after paying for a full pool closing last fall I returned home to find the cover installed with clear signs of tension where it was detaching from the clip in strip due to being installed backwards and water lines left open/unplugged at the heater and return manifold. The service crew returned when called to re-install the cover. With full fall conditions leaves had already started to fall, which was of no concern to the crew as they simply pulled the cover, letting the collected debris fall into the pool, and clipped the cover into place. I was summarily told by the crew not to question how they did their job when I pointed out the damage that would be incurred to the liner and water quality by leaving debris in the pool over the winter. A follow-up visit to Jameson resulted in no response from the Service department management and when Paul Jameson happened by a further comment indicating that his crews were the best and were not to be questioned.

Opening the pool this spring has predictably revealed that the water is heavily contaminated with algae and the liner stained. All previous years openings showed clear water with no staining given the closings had been done properly. The Retail staff continue to be very helpful in providing advice re how to clear the problem however I have be left with many hours spent to date cleaning and paying for chemical treatments. The Service staff have continued to point out that the situation is my problem given I did not use Jameson to open the pool this year and their belief that the service crews are all as good as Amanda and Scott. A request to have a service crew come out to help deal with the problem was simply ignored.

If you choose to use Jameson for any service work be sure you are getting Amanda or Scott else you will be left to deal with the potential mess, time and expense you will need to personally clean up the problems.

Installation of new pool

We had a new pool installed in our yard in 2009 and after obtaining quotes from several companies, we decided on Jameson pool company. The work took about two weeks to complete as we also had a waterfall feature installed. The whole team was very professional and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
