Gem Windows and Doors

We hired GEM windows to upgrade our front living room and kids bedroom windows. Quotes were timely and affordable (best price out of 2 other quotes.) Windows arrived approx 8 weeks later. Installed in one morning by Walter and David. They did a very professional job and left our house clean. The windows are beautiful (heritage style in front, double hung in bedrooms) and keep us nice and warm...no more drafts!

the door has been good but the lock has been nothing but a nightmare. The staff have serviced it more time than I can count and we were locked out at least once. The door itself looks beautiful.

This is the second time I have called on Gem Windows to put in some new windows. The first time a few years ago I got two new casement windows for the front of the house and a new front storm door. These were a great improvement and I have never had a problem with them. Two months ago today I called Gem Windows again to ask about having a few more old windows changed. This company is very prompt and courteous. The salesman came a few days after I phoned and was right on time. He answered all my questions and then emailed me a quote. As he took the time to measure every old window in the house that gave me the chance to think about having more of them done than I at first had intended. The company offered a volume discount that was substantial and so I agreed to have all of the old windows replaced. An installer then visited and took more precise measurements and answered more questions and we signed a contract to have the windows custom made to fit the spaces of my old Victorian house. Today the installer returned with his assistant and all the new windows. They worked from 9 to 3:30 without a break or a hitch. They put down special throws to protect the floor and they cleaned up everything and took away the old windows. The new windows are really great looking: white on the inside, brown on the outside. They are made of vinyl with metal cladding on the outside. Of course the glass is the special high R-factor. When he finished he came back inside with the bill for my final installment, but he first showed me how the new windows worked for cleaning and locking. He assured me that if there were any peoblem with the windows I should call about it and they would be on the issue right away. I have full confidence that that would be the case. I have already recomended this company to two friends and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants a good product, prompt service, and an excellent price.

The salesman was professional and very helpful.The instalor did the job thoroughly and to our satisfaction. i would buy more windows from this company because the cost matched our budget .neat and clean after the job was completed.

Very happy with Gem Windows and Doors. Windows look great and they came when they said they would come....even though it was a bad snowstorm the day installation was scheduled. Would definitely use them again or recommend them to family and friends.

I have used GEM Windows and Doors for the past 17 years.

They replaced all the windows on our last house, all of which worked beautifully for the life of the windows. We have just replaced several of the windows and two of the doors in our new home. Our new windows and doors are beautiful work well and are air tight. The installers worked quickly and cleanly. They were very professional in appearance and working manner.

Whenever we had problems at the old house they repaired and replaced the parts without questions and in a timely manner.

The office staff and repair staff has been so consistant over the years, I feel I know them well.

I would recommend GEM Windows and Doors to everyone.

We have had a terrible experience with Gem. They do not return calls, and takes YEARS to do repairs. I have been trying to get them to fix the bay window they installed for over a year, and this is not the first time I've had this problem with them. Really shameful... avoid this company.

Had to replace the windows at one of my rentals. Did half the windows and these guys were great. Competitively priced and I was able to get those "green" windows and at the time get money back from the government. I would use these guys again but didn't cause they no longer represented the windows that I got way back when.

We replaced our front and back door. We experienced a long wait time. The service was slow, and expensive. We were happy with the finished products though. They had to come back a couple of times to do adjustments which they did wothout a problem.

I had gem window installation done and Symour took care of us. This company is a bit privy and this is due to the nice showroom they have. So you can see what you are buying. Great work.
