CB Tree Service

The owner, Craig, arrived promptly (witin 1 hr of my call) to give a resonable quote for trimming large trees. He seemed very honest and knowledgeable so we booked a time for his service -- I have already reffered him to a neighbor for tree removal...I will post again but really impressed. OH..who ever posted on Apr 14, 2014 is so wrong about this service!!!

I have 3 Manitoba maples which have been giving me problems for the last few years, reaching approx. 100 feet in the air, after meeting with a number of contractors, we selected Craig from CB Tree Service. Craig came up with options to stay within our budget while getting the required work done on time with no surprise extras when done, taking down the dying trees and pruning the one that was saved (no one else brought up this option). He did all this with phone lines underneath and our neighbours garden sheds, all with out damage. What a relief!
I would strongly recommend Craig and his crew (and have)

Last fall we hired Craig (CB Trees) to remove one tree and prune and cable a second tree. They did everything except cable the second tree. After about 10 phone calls and 3 or 4 promises to complete the work, they still have not finished the job -- 5 months later!!! Never again...

In response to the company's reply, the above review was fully vetted by Homestars before they allowed the review to be posted. That included sending them a photo of the invoice we received during the initial consultation. To Craig: as of today the job is not completed as per the agreed upon contract. You can dispute this review as much as you'd like, but we have a contract on CB Tree letter head with a detailed description of the job that was to be completed, and it is signed by you. ***** re: Craig's 2nd comment: Craig, one of two things is possible here: either you are blatantly botching the facts about the cabling job, or you have a serious memory problem. I find it hard to believe you've forgotten all three phone conversations where you promised to return to finish the cabling within the week. The contract you signed doesn't stipulate it is an estimate, but does indicate it is a legally binding contract. Perhaps you should consider being more professional and honest with your customers in the future.

We had a 70 year old Norway Maple, damaged from the storm this winter. Craig came out within a day to give me a very competitive quote. We had three quotes from companies, but I was impressed how readily he had a full insurance coverage paper he left, along with the quote. The job took a little longer than expected, due to the complexity of hydro wires amongst the tree. I have never seen trades men work so hard!! Clean, efficient, professional and took care to ensure all the remains of the tree were cleared up. Logs were taken for firewood by one of the crew and all branches were mulched. Recommend highly.

We have huge 60 year old spruce trees at the back of our property. We needed some very large branches trimmed up high enough to permit us to build a large shed/studio. Craig came out and gave us a price on the day we called and arranged to do the job 2 days later. When he was delayed and could not honour the time that he had arranged to arrive he phoned to let us know that he was delayed and what time he anticipated that he could arrive. He and his assistant worked carefully and safely on a very cold, -9 degree day. After the job they cleaned up thoroughly even used a leaf blower to clean up any debris that had fallen on our neighbour's driveway. Craig has been in the tree business for over 40 years. He himself climbed that big spruce tree to ensure that it was trimmed safely and correctly. At the end of the job, in spite of it having much exceeded his quoted estimate, Craig still honoured his price. Please remember that he has a business that is hard to time accurately and that you may have to wait while he completes the job ahead of yous. However, he remembers to phone and give you updates on his anticipated schedule. We highly recommend CB Tree Service.

During the December 2013 ice strom in Toronto I had a couple of huge tree branches damage my roof. Craig was very helpful, always picked up my calls and did a very professional job. Managed to save the tree. Would hire them anytime.

I'm sorry I haven't had time to do a review before this. CB Tree did a tree trimming for me in the summer of 2013. Craig and his crew were fantastic. He did a great job of trimming the tree. I was reminded of this during our recent Ice Storm and noticed that I did not have one fallen branch in my back yard! Also, Craig is a very effective communicator. My neighbour was very reluctant to do the trimming but Craig explained every to him and put him at ease. Craig is very knowledgeable about trees! Thanks again to Craig and his hard working crew.

We were extremely pleased with Craig, the owner of this tree service. He runs a busy practice and some waiting is required to avail his service; however, when he arrived, his work was thorough, professional and we felt at ease with his recommendations and quality of work. As luck would have it, he got to our tree a couple of weeks prior to the ice storm and hence saved us a potential headache with managing through the storm. I could hear the chain saw in my neighbours yard. The hedges had not been cut for 34 years, so they were dangerously leaning on my house. Craig and his crew were trimming the branches. I asked for a favor. In my backyard, the apricot tree made a good bridge for squirrels to jump on my roof, where they could ruin the tiles. Craig came in 5 minutes with a short chain saw mounted on a long arm. He cut the branch in 20 seconds, and did not want to be paid. Finished, neat, no problem. It was a problem for me as a senior lady, but for him it was just "Veri, bidi, vici". So, dear Craig, most obliged.

Craig brought his crew right away after hearing a branch was hanging 4 storey high by a tread. They were courteous, efficient, and clean. They gave an honest price that was very reasonable, and as we decided to prune more branches, we negotiated another price that would be hard to beat. Their work is neat and they are a pleasure to work with. Craig gives honest advise and I really respect that.
