Last fall we hired Craig (CB Trees) to remove one tree and prune and cable a second tree. They did everything except cable the second tree. After about 10 phone calls and 3 or 4 promises to complete the work, they still have not finished the job -- 5 months later!!! Never again...

In response to the company's reply, the above review was fully vetted by Homestars before they allowed the review to be posted. That included sending them a photo of the invoice we received during the initial consultation. To Craig: as of today the job is not completed as per the agreed upon contract. You can dispute this review as much as you'd like, but we have a contract on CB Tree letter head with a detailed description of the job that was to be completed, and it is signed by you. ***** re: Craig's 2nd comment: Craig, one of two things is possible here: either you are blatantly botching the facts about the cabling job, or you have a serious memory problem. I find it hard to believe you've forgotten all three phone conversations where you promised to return to finish the cabling within the week. The contract you signed doesn't stipulate it is an estimate, but does indicate it is a legally binding contract. Perhaps you should consider being more professional and honest with your customers in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review today.i'd like to point out a few truths that you probably aren't aware of. We were never sent any verification from homestars regarding your work, they explained that it contravened their privacy policies and that we'd have to wait to hear from you. This is the first time we've been able to verify any dealing with you. We deal with 40 to fifty calls a day, help a huge number of people with their tree problems, but unfortunately we can't remember everybody. The picture you've posted is a cost estimate only, to perform a tree removal and pruning which we completed last fall. That work was paid for and we thank you for it again. Please understand you were never charged for cabling your tree and you've never made it known to us before today that you wanted to proceed with the cable wires before now. It was my understanding that you were going to wait until the following spring 2014 when the tree came back into leaf and the cable lines could be tensioned properly before you went ahead with cabling the tree. To tension the cable lines before the tree is in leaf and the full weight of the branches can be determined, could cause the cable wires to be over tensioned and in turn cause the wires to fail when the full weight of the branches is realized when the treei comes back into full leaf. This was explained to you when we removed the tree for you last fall which we did as you know, professionally, timely, and without incident or damage, in spite of the tree having been split in two and resting on your neighbors roof before we were called in to remove it. At the time you were extremely thankful and praised our good work. The cost of cabling was deducted from your estimate and you only paid for the work that was completed. I'm disappointed that you've chosen to try to discredit us now publicly and are now privately threatening us with a lawyer to perform work you were never promised or never paid for. I maintain you should wait until the tree comes into leaf before you try to have it cabled. It will be a much better job. Finally let me say that we're extremely proud of our reputation. Our forty year service record speaks for itself. Over a hundred and thirty reviews speak for us. Perhaps if you improved your attitude, you may find that people may be more eager to work for you. Good luck with your healing. Craig.
