Misleading Warranty Terms and Sales Tactics

I was convinced to include the "Solid Gold" Warranty with my purchase by being misled about the terms. Was sold on comprehensive coverage for all damage to material for 5 years! A clear rip was accidentally made in the cushion of the couch, but coverage was denied on the basis of expected wear and tear.

I feel misled by Lastman's Bad Boy and it feels as if they don't believe in the quality of their own products.

Never buy appliances at Badboy Furniture

Bought a dryer online with delivery service. Took two weeks to get it delivered just to find out it was broken (not heating up). Called customer service, "NO EXCHANGE, NO RETURN"!!! I have to deal with the manufacturer now, what a rip off!!

Over priced bunk bed cracked before even put together!!

Back in December 2019, we bought our daughters a bunk bed from Bad Boys Furniture in Whitby. They told us it would be a month due to it is "customized furniture", but it was only painted white. It came when they said in the first week of January. However; their were 9 pieces that had cracks in them. So the same day I emailed pictures to customer service (as per their store), and waited till the next day for a response. I called and was told it will take 48 hrs to hear back from a rep. So I waited the 48 hours, and no one had contacted me. I called again, and someone from their office told me that the pictures didn't go through due to their size. I immediately resent the pictures, and asked for conformation! Waited another two days with no response. I called the store and told them the run around I was receiving from head office. Also that I have a 6 and a 3 year old, and didn't need a mattress and parts of a bed hanging around. We didn't repack it all cause it was so much parts and we thought it would be resolved sooner. After going back and forth on which parts are cracked we were told we would get replacement a week later. Fast forward to that week, and there was no "delivery truck for that day" so we have to wait till the end of the following week. We finally PICKED UP the replacement pieces only to find that we didn't receive all of them. AND they gave us someone else's pieces that didn't wouldn't fit our bed. So back in contact and was asked when we bring back the damage pieces to bring back that extra part. But no one told us we were to bring back all those parts. Fast Forward another week, we dropped off the other pieces and picked up the missing pieces for our bed. Today we tried to put the bed together, started with step 1 attach the brackets. As my husband try to screw into it, the wood starts to crack! So he stopped, and tried the other side. But didn't take much for it to crack on the second part ( video below). So I called our contact at customer service, and she told me not to screw it all the way. Then said we were too rough?! I ensured it after the second turn of the screwdriver that wasn't even the case. Plus this is to hold the support of the bed so we can't 1 have the screws half in and 2 cracked! My kids have to sleep on it! SO at this point I just wanted to drop it off at their store and get a refund. But She said " She can't do that" Right now we are waiting for them to get back after I emailed the pictures again! However; was warned she was going to be gone as of the end of the week. I'm posting this to warn others, because they shouldn't be in business. I posted on my page, and one of my friends told me how 8 years ago her son fell through the bed. She went through problems getting a replacement and it happened again so she just took her loss. I will not go that route. Sorry for my long rant.

Bad Boy sells second quality manufacture defective. And no return policy!

I bought 2 side chairs. Both were delivered with defects. Bad boy replaced them with 2 more defective chairs. I selected a made in Canada brand (paid more money) to replace the defective made in China brand, but they too were defective. 6 chairs 3 deliveries. All defective! Buyer beware no return policy and they sell unsuspecting customers their manufacturers second quality items. There can be no other explanation. The no return policy confirms that they know customers will want to return their furniture. They do this to keep your money.
I have been in this process of trying to get 2 new, half decent quality side chairs for almost 2 months.

Misleading Sales Practices

I was shopping for a bedroom set for my son last Friday and saw a set on your website. I decided to go into your Whitby store to see it in person. I showed the unit on the website to the salesperson and they showed it to me but suggested an alternate set. Upon taking a look, the other set looked like it was better quality for a slightly higher price. The salesperson quoted the other set as $1868 so we decided to go with that one instead.

Having made the purchase with our 2 little kids in tow and trying to manage them, we left the store thinking we got a good deal. However upon reviewing the set on your website, we discovered the price was (and still is $1748).

As a result we felt ripped off and the salesperson wanted nothing to do to correct the price other than offer a store credit which is ridiculous considering the price we paid was incorrect. Furthermore, we were charged $20 delivery for literally up the street whereas the website says free local delivery.

These inconsistent pricing practices are unfair and crooked. We were told you price match however you can't even price match across your own sales channels.

Your salesperson would say nothing except they have nothing to do with the website and the price given is the price. Very unprofessional, condescending and rude in tone. We called the head office only to be given the run around. Left a voice mail for a "manager" but no call back.

Upon delivery, the delivery guys were rude, clearly didn't want to be doing their job and started talking in their language when asked to remove their wet shoes. There was a rip in one of the boxes and we wanted to ensure there was no damage. The delivery guys just left the house without notifying us.

WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A RETAILER

Extremely poor customer service! Holding purchase money hostage - no merchandise, no money returned, no satisfaction - treated so badly by Bad Boy!!! Left holding nothing including my money!! Sales staff will say anything to get merchandise sold. When asked for a comparable item sales manager wanted to "make a deal" for me to purchase a higher priced item "in exchange" for item not delivered. Wanted to cancel my contract but can only get "in store credit" - so - no merchandise - no return money - no comparable exchange.

Don’t buy warranty, useless service department

Warranty gets you no where, do not buy it. Don’t expect service to call you back in a timely manner. Franca from service is useless. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.

Buyer beware! Stay away!!

On September 12 I ordered 2 counter height bar stools on line, the expected delivery was 3 to 5 days. Today’s date is December 9th and I have still not received the proper bar stools. We received a delivery of 2 stools we did not order and when I called and told the customer service of the error they informed me we have to put the stools together, take a picture and e mail the complaint in... why would we put together the wrong stools but whatever we did what was asked of us and still have not heard anything regarding our stools!!
I feel like we will never get this resolved... so frustrated!

Horrible customer service

I bought a dryer two years ago from Bad Boy. About two months ago the dryer stopped working properly and was deemed unrepairable and replaced under their solid gold warranty. Which was all good. However, the dryer they delivered to replace it arrived scratched AND did not work AT ALL. When we called Bad Boy to report this, they directed us to GE. GE sent a repair person, who discovered that the entire motor of the dryer was not working. This was the supposedly brand new dryer that they delivered to replace an already broken dryer! I am a reasonable person and I understand that GE manufactured it and it is mainly their fault, but when I contacted Bad Boy to let them know about this, they essentially said sorry about your luck but it's GE's fault. In my opinion this is not very good customer service. When I asked if they cared about the quality of the products they stock they simply said we have no way of knowing what condition they are in. Well yes that is obviously true but most companies stand behind the products they stock and would have said okay, we know it's not us but let us take the dryer and deal with GE (I have a friend who had a similar situation at another company, who did exactly as I described) or at least have apologized and offered a 10% discount or something! It was overall a very disappointing and frustrating process. I am left without a dryer for over a month, with a small baby and not even so much as an actual apology from Bad Boy. I actually really liked the salespeople there but will not be returning to the store based on this experience.

Brutal ordering a new dishwasher online required more than 4 phone calls

I ordered a new dishwasher monday as the old one died on the weekend.
on tuesday they took payment (confirmed by Visa to me)
On wednesday I still can't get the delivery scheduled after 4 calls and 4 different employees.
They have their own rules that are NOT inline with Visa requirements.
They are asking to see a passport or drives lic. for online purchases.

Follow up note ONLY after I sent them this review would they call me to schedule the delivery "sometime Friday" and woul call again at 7am to tell me a 4 hour window then at 7 am so still need to plan for all day waiting for a delivery ??????

Final note they charge and I paid $ 30.00 for "Full removal of the dishwasher" but it is appearnltly not "Full" removal is just carrying the old dishwasher out of your kitchen only after you have removed it from the counter. They did nothing for the $30 refused to take it and I am still having to chase them for the $30. More than a week later. I anicapate that by the time Iam done with my online dishwasher purchase I will have had to spend hours phoning emailing and generally chasing them for a simple purchase. Be sure to add YOUR time into the cost of the product...it may not be the deal you think it is.
