I contacted Higher Place Tree Care after seeing their reviews on Homestars and I am glad I did. Chris was extremely easy to deal with, was prompt at giving me a quote and was able to get the work done within a few weeks. I am very happy with the work that was done on a very tall and large cedar hedge. Chris and his crew did a great job, property was cleaned up and the hedge looks great!! I would highly recommend Chris and his team and I will definitely be calling them back for some tree work in the near future.

I was looking for someone to do some small repairs on my plaster ceiling and around my doors on a 1950s bungalow. I researched and found The Wall Doctor. After reading all of the wonderful reviews I hired them to complete the job. Best decision I made. Daniel and Babar came and inspected what needed to be done. Babar was here every day right at 8 am as he said he would. He did an amazing repair job on the ceiling and repainted. You would never know there had been a huge crack in several places. Excellent work, punctual, easy to deal with and great customer service. Penelope in the office was easy to deal with and always responded to my inquiries. I would highly recommend Daniel and his team for any job and will definitely have them back for future jobs.

I called to have an old shed and some carpeting removed. They showed up on time with a courtesy call before they arrived to go over the items to be removed. Two very polite men showed up and got to work. Very hard working and the job was done in no time. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again.

I contacted this company because of their amazing reviews. I cannot say enough of how pleased I am with their service. I had a different company (that has a great reputation) give me a quote on a drain pipe that was clogged with roots from a front yard tree. They told me I had to eliminate the 80 year old tree before they would even look at my issue. Living in Toronto. That’s impossible. I called New Canadian for a leaky under sink line. Mark showed up. Fixed my issue. As I spoke to him about the root issue. He said. No problem. We can put a camera in and figure out a solution. The next day a crew came in (in February) dug down 9’ and replaced the 5’ of clay pipe with roots from the tree. I cannot say enough of the professionalism and amazing work they did under extreme conditions. From Mark and his recommendations to the guys who showed up everyday.....thank you. Hard work. Professional and after the work was done. I cannot even tell they were here. If you need a plumber. This is the company. I have recommended them to several people. Thank you for everything.

I hired The Marble Clinic after being recommended by a friend. I needed the marble in a small bathroom re-grouted, sealed and “cleaned” up. I called and Amanda was out the next day to give me a quote. Luckily there was a free time slot the next day and Nareen and his partner showed up when they said they would. They are amazing. The workmanship was second to none. They were meticulous in the grout and silicone replacement. Friendly, cared about their work and cleaned up everything afterwards. Nareen and his partner were proud of their work and so they should be. I would highly recommend Marble Clinic and will definitely use them again.

I researched several deck companies to have a large two tier deck replaced. I use Homestars a lot and found Ryan from Golden Valley Decks. He lived up to his great reviews. He was prompt at coming out to give me a quote, did the job on time and cleaned up afterwards. Ryan was a pleasure to deal with and when I asked about having certain parts of the deck replaced, he told me they were solid and didn’t need to be done. He’s honest and knowledgeable and I am very happy I chose him for the job. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional company who does the job right. Thank you for a great deck. I will be enjoying it all summer.

I contacted Phantom screen to fix a screen door that had come off of the tracks. Vanessa was very pleasant on the phone but required that I send pictures of my issue before she would send someone out to fix the problem. She advised me she would send me an email to which I was to respond to with pictures. I waited 7 hours for the email. I then sent a request through their contact form on the website. At that point I got an email that stated “As we discussed earlier on the phone, we require pictures of your screens to more accurately determine what is needed to service your screen.” Poor customer service. I found someone else who could fix it.

I called Drainworks after reading the reviews on Homestars. I was having issues with a gurgling basement toilet while doing laundry. Armando arrived the next day and put a camera in the drain and found a tree root had grown into the outside piping. He fixed part of the clog in the drain but recommended replacing the drain under the front lawn where the root was. I requested a backwater valve and he recommended replacement of basement drain pipes. The next day they showed up. Dug up the floor in the basement. Replaced the drains. Put in a backwater valve. Matt came back to do the final inspection. What a great guy. Put the camera through the pipes again. Ground up part of the root through the pipe with some tool and now I have some time to figure out how to remove the tree in order to replace the pipes. Excellent service. From the gentleman who answered my first call to Armando, Matt and the gentleman who did the digging.....first rate service. I will definitely use Drainworks for any future plumbing work.

I called Derek's Tree Service when I realized I had two dead trees in my yard this spring. The quote was reasonable and the time frame for the job was perfect. The guys came out and within two hours the trees were down and they had cleaned up the yard. You would never know they had been here they were so great at cleaning up. Would recommend them for any job. Friendly, punctual and hard workers. Once again I used Homestars for a job I needed done and the company I hired was great!!!

I researched many companies that dealt with electric fireplaces. I was interested in having something installed with a custom mantel. I found Sonny and Toronto Comfort Zone on Homestars. I met with Sonny at his store and immediately knew I was in the right hands. His knowledge, advice and overall help he provided me was great. I sent many, many emails and changed my ideas several times. He was always there with sound advice and wonderful ideas. He was very patient with me through the choosing of a mantel and I have to say the end product was great. I will be using Sonny again for an upstairs fireplace and custom designed mantel. I would recommend Sonny and his team to anyone looking for a fireplace.

This is the second time I have used this company...excellent customer service and excellent work. They answered my inquiry within a day and had the job started within 2 weeks (weather permitting). The crew came out on Sunday to finish the staining and the deck has never looked better. I would recommend Ryan and his team to anyone wanting to renew the look of their deck. Great job!

I always research companies on Homestars but unfortunately did not do that this time when my furnace stopped working. I found Service experts online as they service Lennox furnaces. The customer service for this company is atrocious. When the technician finally arrived to diagnose the problem he was on the phone with his office trying to figure out how to diagnose it and was told over speaker phone that he was using the wrong tool and had the right tool on the wrong setting. He was also told to follow the directions. He then told me that he was going to do it "his way". This does not give a customer a very confident feeling in the technicians ability. He then left the furnace in pieces on the basement floor as he had to have the part ordered and return the following day. When I contacted the company about when they would return as I had no heat, I was put on hold for 25 minutes and then cut off or hung up on. The furnace was eventually fixed the next day and the technician was 2 hours late. The furnace now makes a humming noise and the technician stated I needed the control board replaced. The furnace is 2.5 years old. I have spoken to 2 people regarding this company and neither had positive things to say regarding this companies customer service or technicians. I have used Homestars on four separate occasions when hiring contractors and have always been happy with the people I've hired based on their ratings. Service Experts have a mediocre rating and I now know why from my own experience. There are many HVAC companies out there and many with exceptional ratings. Next time I will choose one of them. I learned the hard way.

I contacted Paul after reading his reviews on Homestars. Paul quoted me a job for installing 8 interior doors. He was knowledgeable, meticulous and arrived when he said he would and completed the job in the time he had stated. Paul's work is excellent and he works as a true professional. I would not hesitate to contact Paul again for any work I may need done in the future.

I wanted to have crown moulding installed in my house and went to Homestars to find someone reputable to complete the job. The first person I called was Richard. He responded immediately and was out right away to give me a quote. Richard and Paul arrived as scheduled and completed the job quickly and meticulously. I am extremely happy with their work and would highly recommend them.

I contacted Artisan Bathrooms and Kitchens after reading the many good reviews on Homestars. I was not disappointed. Bob was professional, extremely helpful with design ideas and took the time to meet with me to pick out tiles, fixtures and counter top selections. Bob was never more than a phone call away when I needed advice on design questions. I would highly recommend Artisan for any renovation and I will not hesitate to use them again for a renovation of my kitchen in the future. Thank you Bill and Bob for your professionalism, expertise and attention to detail. I love my new bathroom.

I contacted several roofing companies after after I discovered a leak in my bedroom ceiling. Norris Roofing answered my call immediately and Rob showed up the same day and found the problem. He recommended several solutions to the problem but ultimately I decided to have the whole roof redone. Rob was very professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful in giving me ideas on how to repair my roof as easily as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend Rob and his "guys" for any roofing job. They are there when they say they will be, they are professional, knowledgeable and they clean up like it was their own house. Great company.

I hired Seal Tech Inc. to power wash and stain my deck as it hadn't been done in several years. The crew that came out was incredible. Hard working, efficient and friendly. The work was excellent and the deck looks great. I would highly recommend Seal Tech Inc.

I hired Pallotta Construction Ltd. to create a patio in my backyard and replace the steps and porch at the front of my house. Paul's design ideas, pride of workmanship and professionalism were amazing. He communicated with me every step of the way during the project. The crew he has is pleasant and hard working. They were there when they said they would be and they completed the job on time. I would highly recommend Pallotta Construction.
