I was worried about wasps that were hanging around an exterior wall of my house, so I contacted Canucks Wildlife Services and Keith came out and inspected the area. He determined that it was just wasps keeping warm on the southern wall of the house and that it was not something to be too concerned about. Keith sealed up some holes on the house and gave me some advice on how to deter wasps and woodpeckers. I would definitely recommend Canucks Wildlife Services to anyone to needs to protect against pests or critters entering their homes.

JP from Cadieux Roofing installed a roof on my townhome in Barrhaven a few years back and did an excellent job. The work was done efficiently, all of my questions were answered to my satisfaction, and he gave my neighbour and me a great deal as we both had our roofs done at the same time. More recently, JP repaired an issue with my roof and charged a very reasonable rate. I have used Max's Tree Services on two occasions - first to trim branches from trees, and most recently, to cut down two large maple trees that were leaning and starting to rot. I saw lawn signs all over the Manotick area for Max's Tree Services, so decided to give Max a call, and I am glad I did. I found his prices very competitive, and the services performed were excellent! Max and his team efficiently and safely cut down the large trees in sections and left me approximately 2 cords for firewood at my request. They removed all of the wood that I didn't want, and then returned a few days later to grind down the stumps. After they were finished, it almost looked like there were never trees there as they left the area so clean. I threw down some grass seed and now it looks great. I would definitely recommend using Max's Tree Services for your tree removal or tree pruning needs.

I like the detailed reports that the technicians provide after each fertilizing and weeding visit, but the price was too expensive for me to continue using the service, so I now handle the weeding and fertilizing myself. I still would recommend giving this company a try when evaluating different providers.

After coming home from work and hearing what sounded like a waterfall coming from the basement, I went downstairs to find water shooting out of the sump pit all over the place. I called DS Plumbing (now called "Out of this World Home Services"). After the representative on the phone explained the $249.00 + tax emergency call-out fee, I agreed and Brandon called me back less than an hour later to let me know that he would be on his way over. He arrived about an hour later and got to work. Brandon did a good job at recommending different options, and then proceeded to efficiently replace the disconnected connections and glued them in place. Brendon was a friendly and professional young plumber, and he mentioned he had about 4 years of experience and would be going to get his Red Seal designation soon. I would recommend this company to anyone needing a plumber, however I do find the price a little high, as prices are charged per part ($72.60 per fitting). I don't use plumbing services often, so perhaps this is normal for the trade. I would gladly use this company again in the event of a plumbing emergency.

Denis from Stewart Roofing repaired my roof leak which occurred where the roof met a wall in two locations. His work was performed efficiently over two days and consisted of removing the lower 2 pieces of cedar siding to expose the wall, and also removing the flashing, shingles close to the wall, as well as step flashing. Denis then installed a waterproof membrane on the edge of the roof deck and lower wall, new step flashing, shingles (to replace the ones that he removed) and also new wall flashing, which looks great. The roof looks better now than it did before he started, as he finished it with a nice brown-coloured flashing with a J-trim to make the cut siding look neat and tidy. The debris was cleaned up on both days and I felt that Stewart Roofing respected my property. Denis gave me some good advice regarding the prevention of ice damming, which I plan on following. He also moved a down-spout at my request to allow me to more easily remove ice from that area of the roof. When having a new roof installed, be sure to have new step flashing and wall flashing installed at the same time to avoid leaks in the future. I learned the hard way about this, but thanks to Stewart Roofing, I now feel less anxious when stormy weather approaches and am looking forward to testing next Spring’s ice melt to truly test the roof and flashing. I would definitely recommend Stewart Roofing to anyone looking to have a new roofing system installed, or for leak repairs.

John from DrivewayRepair.ca repaired some holes on the edge of my driveway by cutting away the sinking section and filling with crushed rock, and then using hot asphalt to seal the section. John then returned to seal the driveway with an oil-based sealant, and the driveway now looks as good as new. Before he started the sealing work, he trimmed the edges of the grass to ensure he didn't miss any spots while sealing, and taped off the interlock and decorative stones to protect those areas. While sealing, he also filled all cracks and gaps with polymeric sand, which is above-and-beyond the service I experienced when using other companies in the past. I would definitely recommend using DrivewayRepair.ca for your driveway repair or sealing needs, as well as for lawn care, as John has a lot of knowledge in this area as well. I also purchased some fertilizer from John at a great price and will follow the advice he gave me about caring for my lawn.

Mike from The Irish Plumber is a pro and fixed my leaking bathtub very quickly and the work performed was top notch. I am very happy with the professional service received and it was refreshing to see that there are still companies out there like The Irish Plumber who care about customer service. I recommend calling The Irish Plumber whenever you have any plumbing issues or even need any home improvements.. such as plumbing for a wet bar :)

Before moving into our new home in Manotick, we had the septic system inspected, and it was determined that there was some corrosion to the partition wall and it was also recommended that we have a effluent filter installed and a riser with access panel so that we would not have to have the system dug up each time we have it pumped. Justin from Proactive Septic Solutions provided an accurate quote via email and then came over on time to do the work. Justin did an amazing job! We are very happy with the work he did to take care of each of our concerns with the system, and we are very appreciative of the time he took to explain what he was doing and that our septic system should last us for many years to come. I would very strongly recommend that you use Proactive Septic Systems for your Septic maintenance or repair as their rates were better than the competition and their service was A+. I arranged a pumping of my buried septic system and Carleton Environmental Service/Carleton Pumping came to dig up the tank and pump it out. Arranging the work was easy through email and I appreciated the checklist reporting the condition of the various components of the system. I would recommend Carleton for those who need a septic pumping.

Mansoor from Oria Heating and Cooling installed a gas line for my new BBQ and did an excellent job. Before he started the work, he provided an accurate quote and showed me his licenses and proof of insurance. The friendly and professional service received really was top notch, and I really appreciated the safety checks that Mansoor did, and the fact that he took the time to teach me how to properly operate the BBQ and shut off valves. I will be using Ottawa - Heating and Cooling for my Furnace and AC maintenance checks every year from now on because of their honesty, professionalism and friendly service. We were very happy with the service we received last August (2016) with our move from Barrhaven to Manotick. There were a couple of hicups: We were promised 4 free mattress bags (for boxsprings and mattress for 2 beds), and only 2 bags were brought. We were also promised 2 free wardrobe boxes, and only 1 was brought with the truck. A second was eventually dropped off by the manager. The person who came over to do the estimate underestimated the size of the truck required, so 2 trips had to be made, but I was not charged for extra travel time that this involved. The 2 movers were brothers and they were very friendly and careful with our belongings. We would recommend this company to anyone needing a mover in Ottawa area as the price was very competitive and overall the service was good.
