My wife noticed a lot of frost on the back of the bottom freezer of our 14 year old Amana refrigerator and the frozen juices and ice cream were melted. I knew I had to call someone to come and take a look at repairing it. I was hoping it wouldn't be the compressor which means we would have to buy a new fridge. I searched Homestars, found Cascade Appliance Service and read some great reviews and gave them a call. I have used another company in the past, but wanted someone local and more importantly, someone who can come right away. Everything other reviewers have said is true. I spoke to a wonderful lady, Linda, on the phone who was able to arrange for Steve to come out and look at my fridge the same afternoon. Steve showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, and offered a few options. The issue was a failed defrost thermostat and Steve quickly replaced it at a reasonable cost. During the entire process, Steve showed me what he was doing, and kept me informed as to what he thought was wrong and even gave me some pointers in maintaining the fridge afterwards. A really friendly guy who did a great job at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Steve at Cascade Appliance Service if you are in need of appliance repairs.

Steve takes great pride in his work. He likes to show up prepared. That is why we ask lots of questions before we arrive at your door so we have the parts in hand. Glad he was able to repair your fridge so quickly

I needed new garage doors as the ones the builder installed was rotting at her bottom and I wasn't sure it would survive another winter. I got quotes from a number of different companies and also got a referral from a neighbour who had used Dodds for their doors. Dodds had the best price for the Garaga doors I chose by almost 15%. The ordering process was smooth as Antony came by at the scheduled time and answered all my questions. The doors arrived from the manufacturer and an installation date was set, all within the 6 week time estimate that I was told when I placed the order. Installation date came and the installer was actually early and was in and out in about 3 hours. I did have a few issues but were corrected. 1 - The spring bar brackets that came from the manufacturer was not the right ones for my door. The installer had other parts on his truck which he installed which meant we didn't have to reschedule. But the brackets were different, so I have 2 types of brackets, one on my left door and a different one on my right door. 2 - 1/2 inch gap between the weather stripping and the door which let in cold air. I called Dodds the day after the doors were installed and was told someone would call to schedule a visit. 2 weeks after that, I called again and was told the manufacturer? will call me to come out to take a look. Another 2 weeks go by and I called again, and spoke to Angie who was very helpful and had some one come out 2 days later and repaired the gap. 3 - One of the weather stripping is bent, probably from when it was shipped. The service man said he had 2 new weather stripping, but they're different from the ones that I have. He did say I have a year warranty on the parts so I'll probably wait until the spring before calling back to have the weather stripping replaced. Overall, I'm very happy with the quality and look of the doors. It was 5C out today, with a wind chill of -2C and inside the garage, it was 11.5C so I would say the R12 Garaga doors are providing better insulation than the wooden doors the builder put in. I would recommend Dodds but did take one star off for the issues with the weather stripping and having to call 3x to get someone to finally come out. I will update this review in the spring when the weather stripping is replaced.

Thank you very much for this review Dan. We are unable to ascertain who this client is but please be advised that there is no need to wait until the spring to replace the weather-strip as we do this type of work throughout the winter. Please contact J P Moore at 416-225-1600 to arrange. At DODDS our job is never done until you are completely satisfied.

My 13 year old Kitchenaid dishwasher was making a lot of noise during the wash cycle and then it eventually stopped working. I called JSN Appliance Repairs and Sam came to provide an estimate for the repair. Ended up the motor had seized up and needed to be replaced. A new part was ordered and Sam came back and replaced it. Great work and friendly service. Reasonable pricing as well. Thank you Sam!
