Park Paving completed the side and back laneways of my commercial property in September 2015. At the time, the job looked great upon completion. However, this year, much of the paving has become cracked and broken due to substantial plant encroachment and weed growth. As well, the grading was too high near the back entrance and water seepage is occurring during heavy rain periods. I have phoned Park Paving on 4 separate occasions since the beginning of May to kindly inquire about these issues and to have someone request to take a look. Each time, a secretary or reception person received my call and promised to forward my issue. Not once has any of my 4 calls been returned. It is not necessarily the work I am disappointed about, it is the lack of service afterwards that is concerning. All new work looks great but if the company is completely ignoring requests to follow up or address issues than any potential client should be concerned.

I had a fridge that was overcooling and called Ajax Appliances. They sub-contracted the work to another company and charged me $200 and never fixed the issue; they only moved the thermostat probe. They told me that to replace the thermostat it would cost several hundred dollars (when in fact the part only cost $40 as I found out later). They are only interested in collecting service fees and not actually fixing anything.

Mimmo and his crew did a wonderful job with our backyard and front walkway. We are quite happy with the final product. He was professional, efficient, and clean. I had to book him in late October 2013 for this spring 2014 project, and my only suggestion would be that extra time could be taken during the estimate process to explain some of the different paver/stone options available with differential pricing, preferred use of sealant, and pros/cons of certain pavers as I think our initial meeting seem somewhat rushed. However, I realize Mimmo is very busy, and I do very much appreciate him accommodating our requests. What I liked most was that he was always there and accessible, that he did the work himself (rather than sub-contracting it), and the workmanship definitely shows. Thank you again.

Chouinard reshingled my roof and redid the eavestroughs in 2008. In 2012 I had wind damage and Chouinard came out to repair the blown off shinges for $150. On a Monday in April 2014, after what I would describe as a mild wind and rain storm (gusts up to 93 km/hour according to Environment Canada), the roof lost large sections of shingles and leaking ensued. Chouinard does not make after hours emergency so I had another company tarp and weather-proof it. I called Chouinard the next day and explained the extent of the damage and two days later (Thursday) someone came out late in the day. They did not bring enough shingles to patch the roof so they left leaving the roof as is. I asked if I would be rescheduled and he could not tell me. I called again the next day and was told it was my fault I did not inform them how many shingles were needed, though I am sure I did mention it to them. Besides, what was I supposed to do? Climb up and count? I was promised a call by the end of the day as it was now Friday, however, no call came. In total, I paid another company $750 do have the weather proofing and repair work done. I finally received a call from the manager the next week and she agreed to reimburse me $125. Most of the workers at Chouinard are sub-contractors and it is hard to speak to anyone who is willing to take ownership. My roof was still under warranty, and though it does not cover "wind" damage, I could easily say that my roof is one of the relatively newer ones on my street and I was on the only one to have any damage over that last few years. Jerry completed a bathroom reno for us. The finished product looks great and no detail was spared. His attitude and work is professional and he will not hesitate to take the time to do things right. The only downside is that he does "take his time", so a contract end date would not be a bad idea. Otherwise, job well done!
