Chouinard Bros Roofing

Chouinard Bros. installed a flat roof over my garage 5 years ago (new construction). During winter thaws and heavy rains, it leaks into the garage below.

I called them to get an estimate to repair. Its been more than 1 month since their techs came out to look at the problem. So far, no written estimate of what is required and how much they intend to charge me to repair a leak which should not have occurred so early in the roofs lifetime.

Customer service has been unhelpful in resolving this issue.

Not only do they not stand behind their work, but they have no interest in even providing an estimate or attempting to repair the defects in the work they did.

This is not what I would have expected from a company like Chouinard Bros. who call themselves the "trusted choice" and experts in flat roof installations.

Very disappointed.

Did not seal roof next to chimney, water damage from rain in house. Nails still rain down around the house every time the wind blows

3 times shingles needs repair in same location of roof . Builders do not hire this company.
Customer service lousy and wont honour warranty.

Terry and Leslie went above and beyond with agreeing to replacing my bathroom vent. I was experiencing some issues and when Terry arrived he explained it really was not covered but he understood my concerns and agreed to replace it. I was impressed with how the work was done and the professionalism booth Terry and Leslie showed. Great work Chouinard Bros!

I have nothing but appreciation for Chouinard Bros and the entire team that I had the pleasure of employing this summer. Chevy arrived and expertly guided me through all the product and colour decisions for full replacement of shingles, eavestroughs, downspouts, dormer siding and flashing. The installation job itself was completed with attention to detail and oversight of the entire process was ongoing from start to finish. I could not be more confident in the the quality of the job or the company's assurance that they stand behind their work. The entire team was knowledgable and experienced and their patience and collective attitude made the whole project a very satisfying and happy experience. I had Chouinard replace my shingles in 2014. As always I asked that they install a long lasting shingle... 25 or 30 year life. They repeatedly delayed the installation until very late in the season.. I left a message and told them I wanted to wait for the warm winter. They didn't respond, but the next day I returned from work to find the workers in the midst of removing the roof..... so now I was forced to le5 them go ahead un spite of the weather being cold.

EVERY YEAR since then, I lose shingles. The first couple of years I called the company and paid a couple of hundred dollars for them to repair. Now I climb on the roof myself to do the ANNUAL repair .

The problem is twofold... 1. They didn't remove the plastic strip from the tar adhesive on many of the shingles.... result is a lack of adhesion . See the attached picture 2. They often only used 3 nails when 4 or 5 would probably have been needed... also, the nails they did use are much smaller than the replacement nails I have been using.

I would definitely NOT recommend this company.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. After 8 years I am replacing my roof, after 10 plus incidents where I've lost shingles completely or had them lift up leaving bare wood. They send their own inspector who sides with the company. I was told it was not an installation issue, funny thing, my house is the ONLY one who has had this issue. In particular, I have had to fix my roof 5 times since December 2021. They did not nail down the shingles properly. SHAME on this company. DO NOT USE. PLEASE save your money and stress.

Very pleased with all aspects of Chouinard's service, now for a second time. Our old roofing shingles were installed 16 years ago by Chouinard. Unfortunately, they wore out prematurely because our attic never had proper intake ventilation, which caused us to repeatedly suffer blow-offs due to high winds. Of the 3 quotes we got, Chouinard was the lowest and best. We easily could confirm this because Rob, Chouinard's sales rep, made sure he priced our job on a like-for-like basis with the other 2 companies we considered. Next, Rob helped us figure out how best we could fix our attic's ventilation deficiency. The work done by Chouinard's installation crew, including their job site keep-up, was all well done and completed in just one day. Throughout, the installers demonstrated high professionalism under the expert supervision of Adam, Chouinard's production foreman. Happily, Adam came by several days later to check that my job was done right and to my satisfaction. After having decided to invest in better quality shingles with a higher wind rating and proper venting this time around, I now look forward to 30 years or more of no roof-related problems!

I had my roof replaced. Their work was quality and on time. They cleaned up after each day. At the end of the job, a supervisor came by to ask if I had questions, went up on the roof to inspect,took pictures and provided a comprehensive report. Excellent service and dependable. Highly recommended!
