We purchased a bedroom set from Urban Barn & chose the option to have it delivered & setup. AMJ Campbell was the company that Urban Barn uses for their white glove delivery service. I received several updates on our order status before the delivery date & confirmation of the time window the day before delivery. The furniture arrived on time & Raymond & Prince did a fantastic job of setting it up & assembling the bed. They were very careful not to scratch my floors or ding my walls & they removed & took away all of the packaging. They even put felt protectors (supplied by me) on all of the legs so that if we needed to move the furniture in the future, we would not scratch the floors. Thank You AMJ Campbell for the great service!

We are currently redoing our bedroom & I found an area rug that I really liked. Unfortunately, the sizes offered were not a good fit for the room so I purchased a larger rug then searched for a company that would resize it to my specifications. From my initial dealings with Kathy, right through to delivery, everything went off without a hitch. Sydney emailed me to confirm how I wanted the rug cut. I sent a diagram explaining what I wanted & my instructions were followed to a tee. From start to finish turnaround time was 2 weeks. Love Your Rug did a fantastic job & I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Mr Tree Man was recommended to me by a friend & I couldn’t be happier with their work. James initially came to the house to assess what I wanted done & to provide an estimate. I have a very large linden tree that was overhanging at one end of our pool & a spruce tree beside the pool with a branch that hung so low we had to bend down in order to walk under it. James took his time explaining what they could do to help lessen the mess in the pool caused by the trees & to open the yard up to allow sunlight longer on the pool’s surface since the lower branches were shading the pool very early in the day. The crew (Matt & Joel) arrived promptly on the day of the job. They first put a tarp at one end of the pool to prevent leaves & sawdust from falling in while they pruned. It worked great! They asked me several times to come out to see how the work was progressing & to make sure I was 100% happy, which I was. When they were done, they thoroughly cleaned up & left the yard spotless. The trees & my yard now look amazing & I am one very happy customer. Thank you James, Matt & Joel for a job well done, I would highly recommend Mr Tree Man to anyone needing pruning services.

Craftsman Custom Built Shutters was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. I had 2 sets of shutters refinished for our upstairs bedrooms & a new set built & installed in our downstairs guest room. They custom matched my colour perfectly & delivered/installed the shutters when promised. Thanks to Adrienne, Wayne & Mitchell for the excellent customer service! If you are looking to refinish your existing shutters or to buy new, I highly recommend this company.

We have used AC Electrical in the past & have always been very happy with their work. Today was no exception. Hank was very knowledgeable,friendly & efficient. He arrived on time & quickly diagnosed the problem with several older light fixtures. Unfortunately he determined that the dimmer switches he had on hand were not compatible with my older fixtures so will be returning to replace them at a later date. We also had him install a whole home surge protector on our electrical panel which I purchased through them. Once I decide on a new bedroom fixture, I will be calling AC Electrical again to do the remaining work. I consider this company my go-to when I need an electrician.

A-1 did great job. Spencer was on time (actually a few minutes early). He explained what he was going to do & also showed me how to open & close the damper since this is our first wood burning fireplace. He thoroughly cleaned both of our fireplaces/chimneys & left the surrounding area spotless. I would definitely recommend A-1 Quality Chimney to anyone needing their chimney inspected & cleaned.

Torontonian Flooring was a joy to work with. From start to finish, Mike was always available if we had any concerns or questions & made sure we were happy with the end result. We originally booked TF to carpet one room in the basement & remove carpeting & underpad to refinish the hardwood in 2 rooms upstairs. After we had chosen the basement carpet , Ryan quickly removed the old carpet & underpad & Mike laid the carpet the same day. He did a fantastic job & the carpet looks great. Ryan spent the rest of that day meticulously scraping off the old underpad from the upstairs bedroom floors but once revealed, the refinishers determined the 50+ year old hardwood was too dried out & brittle to refinish. In the end, we decided to go with vinyl plank flooring & Mike had great samples to chose from. We decided to do both upstairs rooms the same colour & we couldn’t be more happy with the result. Both Mike & Ryan were very professional, hardworking & we would not hesitate to use them in the future. Thank you Torontonian Flooring for our beautiful new floors!

Thank you micro moves…another homestars winner. I needed a queensize adjustable bed base moved from the main floor to the basement. The guys were friendly, fast & took great care not to damage anything. I definitely recommend this company & will be using them in the future!

From start the finish, these guys are A++++ I initially chose Avenue Road Masonry because of their excellent reviews here on Homestars & I was not disappointed. After contacting the company, Chris came to my home and provided a detailed estimate of the work that I wanted done. He answered all of my questions & also suggested a few minor repairs (tuckpointing) to the bricks of our aging home. On the day of the repair, Robert, who was in charge of overseeing the project, checked in several times & kept me updated on its progress. The workmen were on time, did a fantastic job & thoroughly cleaned up before leaving. They made a point of showing me the finished project to make sure I was happy with what they had done. Robert even called the next day to confirm that I was happy with their work. This is what I call great customer service! These guys obviously take pride in their work & it shows. If & when I need masonry services again, I will not hesitate to use this company & I highly recommend them to anyone else in need of the same services. Quality work at a reasonable price & Excellent customer service...what’s not to like.

Our laundry tub was backing up & draining much slower than usual. When I tried plunging it, I accidentally broke the seal on the tub drain. Valentin knew that the pipe cleanout was probably partially blocked & causing the water to back up. In a matter of minutes, Val fixed the problem & also provided a solution so that we didn’t need to replace our aging tub right away. We have been relying on Valentin for all of our plumbing needs over the past five years. His work is always top-notch & he consistently provides fast & friendly service.I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable plumber.

My mom had used Strong Plumbing Co last summer & was very happy with Valentin's work so I didn't hesitate to contact him when I needed a new kitchen sink installed. I requested a quote and he immediately got back to me. Fortunately, he was able to do the install the next day. He arrived on time and took care to make sure everything was done just right. I highly recommend these guys who really went above & beyond what we expected. Upon meeting Ashley, my mom & I were impressed, He gave us a reasonable quote for the removal of four cedar stumps, the pruning of a large Birch & Linden tree as well as bringing in topsoil to fill the hole. He took his time explaining what needed to be done & also gave us advice about a few other trees on our property. When the day came, it was clear to my mom that Tyler & Tim knew what they were doing & before she knew it the job was done. They cleaned up very well & even took the wood chips away which we did not expect. I would not hesitate to use Tree Care Specialists again. Thank you Ashley, Tyler & Tim!

Philip and his team did a FANTASTIC job cleaning my mom's windows inside & out. His friendly & professional team wasted no time when they arrived and made sure every window was thoroughly cleaned. They took extra care when working around our inside furniture & outside bushes & Philip even cleaned the glass panes on our backyard lantern. I had used AC Electrical before so didn't hesitate recommending them to my mom. The quote to install two outside wall lights was quite reasonable & we were very happy with Nick who arrived on time and did a fantastic job. He even put up new house numbers for my mom & took extra care to make sure they were straight. We will definitely be using Nick again to install some path/garden lights in the near future. I highly recommend this company!!!

My mom's outdoor faucet had been leaking through the handle for a while so we knew it was time for a replacement. She originally called another plumber who needed a week’s notice and when he came he advised her that replacing the faucet would also require breaking through the wall to install a shut off valve. She was nervous about doing that since the other plumber made it sound like it was going to be a big deal so she decided to call Strong Plumbing for a second opinion. Val was able to come right away and did agree with the first plumber’s recommendations but he reassured my mom that everything was going to be fine and that he would be able to do it no problem. He replaced the faucet and installed the inside shut off valve leaving only a small cutout in the drywall. He worked quickly, efficiently, stuck to his quote and did a fantastic job. He answered all of our questions and offered some great suggestions. We will definitely be using Val again for our future plumbing needs.

My mom's Eavestroughs were leaking in several corners so after researching Homestars we called True North for a quote. Philip explained that the Eavestroughs were old (which we knew) so that our best option was to replace them. He did offer to do a repair but given the age of the Eavestroughs we decided to replace them. Since we also needed the downspouts disconnected to comply with the GTA's new rules, we had that done at the same time. Philip gave us a detailed explanation of what would be done & the quote we received was very reasonable. On the first day of the install, the crew showed up on time and got right to work. It was clear to us that they knew their business & that we had chosen the right company, They worked until about 3:30 then left for the day. Honestly this review should really be 9.5 but the only reason we're not giving them a 10 is because they left for the day without informing us. Since the backyard contains a pool, the gate needs to be locked at all times when unattended. We had opened the gate for the workers but had no idea when they left. Only after going outside did I realize they had wrapped it up for the day. They had left equipment plugged into the side outlet & the gate open. I wasn't even sure if they were coming back, but decided to lock up since I had to leave myself. When they returned the next day they said they had left because they were tired. We just wish they had let us know at the time. That being said, the crew showed up bright & early the next day & ended up finishing the job a day early. They were pleasant, hard working & did an excellent job installing the Eavestroughs. They listened to my mom's concerns about the downspout disconnection & did their best to make it look as good as it could given the circumstances. Philip came the following day (day 3) & completed the work by adding a Zip Hinge to a downspout in an area where my mom needed to walk through so that she wouldn't be tripping over it...a practical solution that works very well. In conclusion, I would highly recommend True North Eavestroughing to anyone needing new Eavestroughs. The Eavestroughs look great and we're confident that they will last for many years.

My mother's fence had three fence posts that were rotting out so we searched homestars and after reading First Choice Fence's excellent reviews we decided to give them a call. They were prompt at returning our call and coming out for an estimate. Pratema was very nice & suggested that instead of replacing the existing fence posts which could ultimately break more of the fence, that we erect posts in front of the existing ones thus straightening and stabilizing the fence. Once weather permitted, Pratema and her team came out to do the job. The team got straight to work and for the most part did an excellent job. Although they had a bit of trouble installing one of two posts on the west side of the yard, they did finally manage to get it in and both looked great. The reason I am not giving a 10/10 rating is because of how the the one post looks on the east side of the yard just inside the gate. It was the last post they installed. I believe the problem occurred when the post was not cut to size properly before it was put in the cement. Unfortunately since they had already laid it in the cement and had another job to get to, they tried to size the post by sawing the top end after it was up thus not giving an even and smooth cut like the other two posts. We also noticed that this post was probably not the best looking out of the three to put just past the gate since it's quite noticeable when you walk into the yard. This may be a small thing but I know the look of the one post bothers my mom since it's not perfect & it's quite noticeable being at the entrance to the yard right beside the patio. In the end, we took some sandpaper & sanded down the top as best we could to make it look a little better but we would have preferred the cut was done straight & smooth in the first place. As far as function, I have no doubt that the posts will do the job so we have no complaints there. Edit: The posts held up amazing & with time have blended in perfectly with the rest of the fence. I have changed my review to 10/10

Andrew is very busy & we did have to wait a few days for service but he & his son arrived promptly on the date of repair. They were courteous & did an excellent job replacing a laundry room faucet that was leaking. My mom had originally called another plumber who wrongly suggested that the sink was leaking & needed to be replaced. She was relieved when Andrew confirmed that the leak was in the faucet & that the sink was fine. He & his son answered all of our questions & offered some helpful suggestions . I would definitely recommend Mister Plumber & will use them in the future.

My washing machine sounded like something was caught in between the inner & outer tub (rattling noise when spinning & changing cycles), Steve arrived on time & after removing the drain pump determined it was a dime. He was professional, courteous, fast & the price was reasonable. Moral of the story: check pockets for loose change ( my fault). I will definitely use this company again for future major appliance repairs.

AC Electrical were a pleasure to deal with. Jim & Quinn did a great job & answered any questions I had. They arrived early & completed the work very quickly. If I need electrical work done in the future, I will definitely use them again.
