I had already made a purchase at this store and went back because I was so pleased with the first experience. It all fell apart when the box spring/mattress was delivered. The delivery men (who are not at fault) had a receipt that said I was owing $500 but on my receipt, it said $400 and that's what I had on hand. When one of the delivery men called the store, I was asked to speak with David which is the son of the owners. He said there was a mistake and I owed $500 and I said "well my receipt says it is $400". He yelled at me and said "can't you do math"? I was so shocked! I further said that I was a repeat customer and asked if that's how they treat repeat customers. His reply? "I DON'T CARE!!!" He yelled that at me and threatened to take back the box spring/mattress. I said fine but I expect my deposit back before I let the purchase out the door. He said that he'd have to get the delivery men to get the money but that they would take the purchase with them. In the end, I relented which I now regret just out of principle and had the $100 tacked on to my credit card. I believe they should have honoured what was written on my receipt which was written by his mother (Lucy). In the end, that $100 lost them approx. $1500 to $2000 in business as I had mentioned to Lucy that I'd be back to purchase a sectional sofa. I will never set foot in that store again.

I was buying a boxspring/mattress for my brother. After another company failed to show up 3 times with my purchase, I cancelled and went to Simply Elegant. Not only were they professional, the prices were excellent! They called in advance to confirm and delivered exactly on time. The delivery men were very kind and respectful. I'll be going back for another boxspring/mattress for myself.

When I first called, I spoke with Sabrina who was very friendly but didn't volunteer information like the fact they were having a $1.00 for the first month special. When I brought that up, she said that it was for a bigger unit. Of course I opted for that since it would be cheaper in the long run. However, she did reserve the unit without asking but I was fine with that. The day before the move, I went to their office to do the paper work. This is where I became unhappy. It was 5:30PM and they close at 6:00PM which was plenty of time to fill out the paperwork. Sabrina ended up charging me for that day. When I disputed that, she remarked that I didn't tell her it was for the next day and that that was the way the computer was set up and if I wanted to move in the next day, I should have come the next day. I let her know that I disagreed with paying for that day when I'm not moving the items until the next day and I wouldn't have time the next day as I would be bringing a moving company (didn't want to pay them extra for waiting around). Since they close at 6PM, I assumed that was the end of the day. She said the office closed at 6PM but access is given until 9PM which is how she justified paying for that day. She kept arguing that I didn't tell her that it was for the next day. Since this was my first time renting a storage unit, I believe it is her job to tell me everything. I should mention we arrived in a car with no items to move into the unit and we parked just outside of the office window.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Not to make assumptions about the customers wants/needs or whether this is their first time renting or their 10th time and to enlighten the customer and give as much information as possible.

This company was referred to me by my real estate agent. I read the reviews and became concerned that the reviews were really bad. I spoke to the person in charge and he assured me that this was under previous management so I took a leap of faith and I'm glad I did. It was a small move that consisted of the equivalent of a one bedroom apt. from a house to a storage unit. They arrived a 1/2 hour late but only took 2 hours for the move (plus 1 hour travel) and the 2 movers (Jeff & Tim) worked so hard and they did an excellent job. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. In fact, when we move the items from the storage unit, I'll be calling them again.
