I had these guys come in for racoon removal as well as mice treatment in the attic. They were exemplary in their service so when silverfish and centipedes decided to make their home in my house I knew exactly who to call. Sharda in the office was great with booking and re-booking my appointment to work around my schedule. Loved the email confirmation and very detailed instructions on how to prepare and what to expect. The day of the appointment, Moe was prompt and very courteous. He was a pleasure to deal with and did a thorough walk through of the home before starting the treatment. On completion he called me to confirm he had completed the job and followed up with a detailed report via email. It's been a month and although I continue to find dead bugs in the basement, I have not seen any live ones since the treatment. He was definitely very thorough. Once again, very happy with this company.

I had already been through two other color consults by other designers with no success when I remembered Anita as she had helped us many years ago when we still lived in Vaughan. I wasn't sure she would be willing to travel so far (west end) but I was pleasantly surprised when, without hesitation, she was able to book me in within a few days. This lady knows her colors! Mine was quite a challenge as I had an open concept floor plan, tricky lighting and a wallpaper feature to work around. Not only did she succeed to find the perfect color, but all within a very reasonable amount of time and managed to turn what had been a very stressful experience for me, worry free and fun! She has amazing ideas too and is extremely honest (she advised against repainting some of the areas I wasn't 'loving' as she did not think it was necessary). Very impressed with her professionalism: she took the time to mail me a beautiful package with all the selections and very inspiring color quotes. Definitely my go to color consultant!!!

I contacted Kris for backyard fencing. First conversation over the phone was slow as he struggled to communicate & get my address but we manage to arrange for an in person estimate. 15 mins before the meeting he phoned to cancel so we rescheduled. When he showed up, he felt free to walk through my house without removing his work boots but he was quick to give me quote and it seemed reasonable as I had trouble finding someone to take on a 'small' job like mine. So after talking to the neighbors we decided to go ahead and invited Kris back to draft the contracts. A week later I personally drove to meet Kris at one of the job sites to hand him the deposits as he did not want to make a 3rd trip to my house. Few weeks later as we were getting close to the scheduled time Kris phoned me and his first words were: 'We have a problem, there's no access to the backyard, I have to go through your house'. I was flabbergasted as I had very clearly told him when he came to quote me that access to my backyard is via the chain link neighboring the ravine behind. Not rocket science and an easy access that all other contractors that worked on my row of townhouses had used with no issues. (Btw, he just turned up at my house that day – no phone call, no heads up , so I had to drop everything and rush to meet him!) I told him it I am not comfortable with him going through the house (he did not show any courtesy the first time he came over) and that seemed to push him over the top. He had a complete meltdown and threatened to walk off the job, as in his words 'he was doing me a favor' by taking in a small job (apparently 4k is small peanuts to him). He got in his truck and left. At that point I considered finding another contractor. Two days later, as I was having dinner, I look into the backyard and I see his truck pulling up. So again he just showed up - no phone call, no heads up but it seemed that he was trying to be reasonable and use the access behind my house. I thanked him for that and hoped things would go smoother. I asked him when he'd start and finish the job - to my surprise he said 'tomorrow I come and do everything'. Now, everybody knows fencing cannot and should not be done in one day as you have to let the posts/cement dry out for at least 24 hrs before nailing the boards. I tried to reason with him and ask him nicely to do it over a 2 day period. Another meltdown and again threatening to walk away as he does not have time to waste. So far in the process and mentally exhausted I decided to just let it go. He showed up the next day as promised and he was preparing to put in the posts, he noticed that my neighbor’s deck was crossing into my property. Surprised, I asked him to wait so I can get in touch with my neighbor and see what can be done. By the time I walked around to knock to my neighbor's door, Kris had decided to cut the deck! I was beside myself and prayed that the neighbor would be understanding of the situation. I left for work and returned around 6pm to find the fence up and a very gruff Kris. In his typical manner, he demanded payment without giving me a chance to inspect the job and started insulting me. Apparently he had finished his drinking water at 2pm that day and he was dehydrated and somehow this was my fault for being a poor host, or his own words ‘not human’. He then told me he regrets taking this job. Needless to say I paid him happy to put an end the nightmare. The job he’s done is questionable: some panels go all the way to the ground and some are so high, my 8 yrs old daughter can crawl underneath. I’ve never had such a poor experience and most of the contractors I’ve hired– judging by my other reviews have been more than decent. If you want to deal with adult temper tantrums, be insulted, blackmailed and end up with shoddy workmanship hire Kris and Fancy Fence!

Two of the homeowners on my row of townhouse contracted this company in spring 2014 for backyard fencing. Timing not being ideal (neither of my next door neighbors were interested and I was planning on doing a patio first), I was not able to join in. Later in July, as circumstances improved, I invited the company over for a quote & I was quoted just under $ 3700 which was in line with what the other homeowners had paid. Unfortunately the company could not schedule me until mid August so I decided to put it off to next spring. In April 2015 I contacted the company telling them I am ready to go ahead with the work. They offered to come by to go over 'everything' once more. To my surprise I was presented with a new quote, under the pretext that access to the backyard was now more of a problem then back in July. I was quoted 45% more for a total price of over $5000! I tried to understand their rationale of saying access is now more difficult than back in July, when in fact, nothing had changed. In the end the salesperson admitted he doesn't remember what the access was like back in July and I can take it or leave it. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with their lack of professionalism, which I had read about (see below) when I first researched the company. In fact, the first red flag went up when I was not able to find any feedback on Homestars as I had very good experiences with contractors that I found on here. Overall, it was a good experience. My coordinator was Patrick and he was great to deal with! Love the fact that they ask for a list of items before giving a quote, ours was 100% accurate! No hidden costs, no gimmicks, the right amount of supplies & right number of people. They showed up on time (they called to let me know they were running 5 minutes late...5 minutes!), worked within the quoted timeframe, showed a lot of curtesy and care towards my items (more than half were mirrored and/or glass!) and they completed the move with absolutely no damage! The only constructive criticism is that it can get a bit messy. The runners they use to protect the floors are a bit dirty and I don't know that they get cleaned between moves so a lot of dirt gets tracked into the house, but i suppose that is to be expected. After the move, Patrick followed up with me to get feedback...what amazing customer service. Would definitely use them again!

I have to admit I was nervous making a purchase after reading all the negative reviews, but i loved the furniture so decided to take a leap of faith. I have to say, definitely exceeded my expectations from the sales to delivery and leather treatment. My sales consultant was Vern - lovely lady, prompt, took the time to mail me a copy of the invoice for an order placed over the phone along with a handwritten note to say thanks. Furniture arrived on time, in perfect condition & delivery crew was courteous. The 2 phone calls i made to head office with few minor inquiries were answered promptly. Absolutely no issues and would shop there again. Love the pieces!

4 yrs ago, I purchased half of my furniture at the UB in Vaughan location. Dealt with Ricardo and had an amazing experience (see my other review). 4 yrs later I still love every single piece I bought there and turns I’m not the only one. I recently put my house up for sale and the buyer asked for almost every single UB piece I had! Of course I said yes, delighted to go shopping again at my all time favorite UB store. I happened to stop at the Richmond Hill location as I was in the area and lo and behold, who is behind the counter: Ricardo ! He remembered me from 4 yrs ago and was of course, a pleasure to deal with again. I was also helped by Lyn who was absolutely delightful! I got delivery of my pieces and couldn’t be happier: great style, good quality and I love how affordable they are. I also like the fact that they continually update their product line which makes for more of a unique product rather than the mass produced stuff available at big chain furniture stores

Was in the market for a new central vac and so I emailed a few stores asking for a quote. Mike was quick to reply with a few options at a very competitive price. After deciding on the brand I went to see Mike and complete the purchase. I’m not an easy customer and he was extremely patient in explaining and walking me through all the options and helping me pick a unit that would suit my needs. 2 hours later, I walked out with a system I absolutely love at a price no one else was able to match. I asked for installation the next day (Sat) and they were able to accommodate. Great service, great product and an absolute pleasure to deal with Mike.

I was referred to Tony by my contractor (P&P Reno) as I was looking to replace the countertops & sinks in my ensuite. Tony is a straight up, honest guy with great customer service. He was courteous and patient and he made picking the right countertop easy and fun experience. Price was competitive and he delivered within the promised timeframe. He did not do the installation (I had P&P do that), but the finished product looks really beautiful! Thanks Tony, it was a pleasure!

We had Dial One clean the ducts in our current home and since we have purchased a new one, wanted to get the ducts cleaned before moving in. Originally booked them for a Saturday but then realized there was going to be overlap with other deliveries so I called and asked to move the appointment to Friday – which happened to be a holiday (Good Friday), and Joe, the owner, was very gracious in accommodating our request. Wil came over and he explained what needed to be done. He spent over 1.5 hrs at the house and showed us some of the stuff he was doing. The filter the builder had put in was overflowing with dust, absolutely disgusting and he also showed us the access point the previous company used for cleaning the ducts was way too small to be able to properly clean. He told us the ducts were not too bad, but there was a lot of fine dust which we expected with a new build plus we had some other renovations done. The next day, after the job, we felt an immediate improvement – no more of the stuffy nose/headache. I also liked the fact that they charged a flat price and none of that ‘per vent’ gimmick.

I needed to finish a room in the basement of my new home and so I contacted at least 20 reno companies & handymen for quotes. Although P&P was not the cheapest, they were the most professional: they took the time to and see what needed to be done and then followed up with a very detailed quote along with their credentials, warranty info and references. Of all the people I contacted, they stood out through thoroughness and presentation. I dealt with Natanael Sr. (the owner) throughout the duration of the project. If I was to sum up with one word, it would have to be RELIABLE. He started on the day he promised, he showed up every day as promised and finished BEFORE the estimated completion date. Since I hadn’t moved in, he also took the time to email me every day with a progress report: what was completed, what’s next and estimated completion date. The room was done very nicely and with great attention to detail (their painter even took the time to call and ask if I wanted egg shell or flat paint). Since I was happy with their work, I asked Natanael to do a second job for me replacing the countertops in the ensuite. Although it was a last minute request, he managed to fit it in, and get it done within the promised timeframe. Beautiful installation! Best of all: no hidden costs or surprises. P&P delivered on time and on budget and definitely on my go to renovators list.

I used their services twice in the past 2 years. First time for cleaning the barber carpet on 2 floors of my home and second for in home cleaning of 2 area rugs. Both times, I received professional, trustworthy service. Adel was very honest to recommend the right package, Ruby was very good handling appointment times and Daltony did a great job cleaning. I thought the rugs would be a quick job but Daltony was there for more than 1.5hrs and made sure the job was done properly. They followed up with a courtesy call to see if we were happy with the service and if we had any issues and they sent us a work order detailing the service prior to the appointment as well as a paid invoice afterwards. Very happy customer!

It was an absolute pleasure working with Beata. We started with an initial consultation over the phone. When she arrived at the house with the fabric samples we were absolutely impressed how well she understood the style we were trying to achieve. It made the fabric selection very easy and stress free. Throughout the process, she was delightful to work with: made great suggestions without imposing , was very patient and considered with budget constraints. We moved into a new house and needed a lot of furniture. Spent months looking online and in downtown stores until we found that UB had opened a new store in our neighborhood. First time we went in just to look. We dealt w/ Ricardo, he was absolutely amazing and very helpful. We went back a few months later and he remembered us and the products we looked at previously. We love their stuff and find it very affordable, especially with the sales they've been having. We ended up ordering various pieces of furniture, for a total of $4k. They all came in ahead of time (some 1 month earlier). We love the fact that they underpromise and overdeliver! Definetly our fave store and definetly the best customer service. Thank you Ricardo!
