The crew is courteous, professional, and have moved piano before. Since I only needed a short move, it was quick and done less than an hour.

Update: After many request and phone calls, Domar eventually did come and finished all the requested job. In addition, after going through now some time, the quality of the work with weather/elements has shown to be very good. There are stress relief cuts in the concrete, and that is required. There are no other cracks given Toronto winter. As a result, I have upgraded my review to 9/10. I only wish the company can be responding to remaining work in adequate amount of time. After doing a number of research, we decided to go with Domar Group due to their quality of work. We had an older house, so we wanted to do both water proofing as well as concrete paving of a shared driveway. At the pre-sale stage and work stage, Stefano was very quick to reply, coordinated well with our neighbor, and completed work in a reasonable time due to complication that arose. The reason the cost/time was higher than initial estimation was due to finding out that the house needed better underpinning support, and we agreed with Mr. Manno's assessment with additional work. Overall, Domar's group made what could be a more complicated situation easier to deal for a home owner, completed what is necessary and important, and did the job well. The one issue we had with the team is that the majority of work is done by sub-contractors who are quite busy. So after the work was completed, there was some minor details that needed touch up. However, almost 3 months of waiting with repeated call to Stefano with many promises, that portion of the work has not been completed. Because of this, I am hesitant to provide an outstanding rating as for referring this team to another friend, and I would suggest unless you are completely satisfied with 100% of the work, withhold amount back until the work is done. My dad (close to 80) is a very trustworthy person and paid all funds so I feel he is being taken advantage of eventhough Domar does advertise on good post-work support.

Swimming pools are nice. But here in Canada, lack of practicality and safety concerns steered us towards major reno in our backyard. So the search begins. After talking to a number of companies, I decided to work with ForeverStoneDesign. The type of things that I appreciate are attention to detail and quality work. For those looking for a quick summary, two things are the utmost important to us AFTER working with a contractor: 1. Will you work with the same personal/company again? 2. Will you refer them to your friends and family? The answer for Mimmo, who is the owner of ForeverStoneDesign, is both yes. Mimmo understands that sometimes changes are required, and he works with us on the changes we want given the situation, and adds a customization of his own. In the end, we are very satisfied with the work, and plan to invite him back to do add-on at a later time. Here, I wanted to show some before after pictures. We had limited budget and Mimmo delivered on top of it. It used to be above ground pool with a deck. We also replaced the slope with stone steps. We wanted some additional natural armor stone and certainly there are plenty of it here. I don't use a lot of dramatic words or adjectives. I want to thank ForeverStoneDesign and Mimmo for their service, and look to have your crew back.

In a lot of the home star reviews, you will quickly find a lot of 10/10s. That is because after a job, these companies solicit a review after a good engagement. This review is unsolicited. Also by my standards, and imagine, with all those 10/10, is it real? Comparing to those reviews, Mike and Linda deserves 10/10. I choose a quality shingle with blue color and it looked very nice against sky. Team showed up on time, finished everything in 1 day, and left no mess. Because it is an old house, some plaster did crack a bit, but I think it may be possible with anyone. I am quite happy, and waited through the winter to ensure there is no issue before writing this review. Team is also considerate where they placed all vents towards the lake side for better breeze and while looking from street, it is a clean look. Things like this really makes a home owner appreciate. I am picky, detailed, but fair. I would recommend Durham Region Roofing and would use them again.

Despite decent reviews on this company, I didn't have a good experience. In terms of the feedback here, I will stay as objective as I can with facts and allow reader to decide. Aris was the main contact. Upon initial quote a phone call, he understood what it would take to remove Asbestos, we felt Canada's restoration service offered the most comprehensive procedure and decided to go with them. Given we had other quotes, Aris matched other quotes at 1k+tax. On the day of service, my sister was present. When the crew came, she called me saying the crew looked extremely young. Upon asking them for their qualifications, one male staff said he took a course in college. The other even younger staff didn't. As Aris promised that professional staff will be handling this job, I told my sister to go ahead anyways. For the Asbestos removal, home residents can not stay in the house. So my sister left the house. Upon returning, here is where the problem started. My sister noticed that the central AC fan is on, and workers didn't wear masks to protect themselves as the AC fan was still left on. When she asked why wasn't the AC turned off, the crew responded with it is not necessary. She immediately called Aris. Aris called his crew. Then the story changed, Aris said they did turn it off. And the crew's story also changed. Here is my subjective opinion: 1. Aris and Canada's Restoration Service placed their inexperienced worker at harm. They could have been breathing in some of these Asbestos fibres (which is why you want to remove them in the first place). Our HVAC company won't come to fix anything until this was removed. The workers are young, and maybe inexperienced to protect themselves, but it is Aris and Canada's restoration's responsibility, not some course that they took. 2. There was no admittance of changing story and presenting inconsistency from Aris and Canada's restoration. 3. They put family and home owners at harm as well. What I did immediately is going to home depot, bought HEPA air purifiers for about $500 to ensure any air bourn fibers can be caught and filtered. We also asked Aris to return as I think there might have been some residue. Aris did come to our place, when I was there. I told him I did buy the air purifiers due to this incident and expect him and his company to subsidize/pay for. Aris said I did not consult with him, and didn't understand that I did it to protect my family. He said no. Aris went back, some how generating another invoice showing 20% discount but we had agreed to 1k+tax, it ended only being $70 cheaper. Anyways, it is not the money that I am concerned about. Canada's restoration service perform the type of service that can make families well or ill. Their crew showed inexperience and I was not satisfied with their service. I give 1 star because Aris did come to my place for a second time.

By chance, I found out that Enbridge is running a rebate on furnace. After consulting with constant home comfort, among research on furnace size, prices, I decided to go with them. What was a nice about the installer crew was that once he arrived, he also asked me what other things the sales person promised in addition to what was written. There was none but I thought it was considerate due to the fact that every install may have minor details. The install crew put card board box along the outside as to not to make a mess. To patch holes, they used mixed concrete rather than silicon which I thought is better. Lastly, I waited 6 month to write this review to ensure all system worked, and I got all of the rebate as promised. Rebate took a really long time. Overall, I am very satisfied, other than the rebate took so long.

I bought a home with 1/2 of the windows and doors replaced by Loyal Seal Windows by the previous owner. After 1 month, I found 1 set of 4 panel windows leaking. After some additional investigation as we had several raining days in October, 2013, I found the source of the leak. Loyal Seal Windows leak. Let me repeat, Loyal Seal Windows leak. And COMPANY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT EVEN IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. I got Loyal seal windows contact from the previous owner. When I first called them, they indicated I should email them. I did, with attached photo. No one replied after 1 week. Then I called again, and the receptionist said someone will read my email. No reply after another 10 days. Then, I emailed them again, finally a representative called me. After finding out that I am not the original owner who had the windows done, she indicated that the warranty does not apply. I understand why they would do this to minimize cost, but when you buy a second hand car, if there is defective or manufacture recall, the manufacture covers it. Anyways, I simply asked that it would be appropriate if someone comes over to take a look. If the defective window isn't covered, to be consistent with other windows, I could still replace that, most likely at my own cost. The representative indicated that it is a $120 for a service call to come and take a look. Then, I specifically told her that I will pay for a defective window but please come and look at it first to verify without the service call charge. Loyal Seal was not willing. Also, 2nd week of November was quite windy, on the 2nd floor, another set of Loyal Seal windows had very strong cold draft coming from it. I went to a set of old windows on the same floor facing the same side, and there is no cold draft. Loyal Seal does not stand behind their product. Their window leaks. This is consistent with several other reviews that you will find here. AND, they won't even help if you are willing to pay. Quite unbelievable. I give them 1 star because the representative on the phone called me, and returned my call, and answered my questions.

What could this company do to improve their services?
They do windows, make sure it doesn't leak
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
stay away from Loyal Seal

Dear Mr. Wang,
As you are not our customer we are at no obligation to provide you with free service. Due to high volume of false alarm service requests we charge a minimal fee to send a service technician to examine a problem. In order to minimize unnecessary costs to OUR clients we request pictures and an email describing the problem. Just by viewing your photo, it is absolutely clear that you are experiencing condensation issues (NOT leaking windows). During the winter months when humidity in the home is high and the temperature outside is very low, it is normal to experience condensation on the inside surface of the glass, especially when you have window covers such as shutters. The water drips to the bottom of the window and leaves marks on the frame (as evident in your own pictures which you have attached)
Thank you
