This is the 2nd time I have used GEM Windows for replacement of old, inefficient windows. The job consisted of replacing two kitchen windows, French doors, a bedroom window and an en suite window. From start to finish GEM did a great job. The initial site visit and quote was done by Jim and a followup done by Ziggy the installer just to ensure measurements were bang on. Jim also called an additional time just to double check before the factory manufacturing commenced. The duration of the installation was estimated as two days. However as the first day progressed the installation team was able to turn the job around by the end of day! The crew of 3 lead by Ziggy were prompt, professional and efficient with their time. They did a fantastic job and cleaned up the site before they left. We are very happy with the final job and would highly recommend GEM for window and door replacement.

We were very happy with the service provided to us by GEM As related to our ground floor windows being replaced. From the initial visit from Jim to the final cleanup by Ziggy and his helper the work was professional, high quality, and on time. We are very happy with the look and function of the windows. The installers also did a great job of showing up on time, installing within the estimated 2hrs and and cleaning up the job site. I would definitely recommend GEM if you are looking for reliable service and a quality product. My only suggestion for improvement would be their payment policy. It was inconvenient that I had to come in and pay the balance owing in cash or via cheque or get hit with a service charge if I chose to pay via credit card over the phone.

When we discovered that our new home's hard-wired smoke detector system was not working we knew it was time to call in an expert ASAP. We immeadiately searched reviews on 'homestars' and decided to contact Hi-lite Electric based on customer reviews. I spoke to Angie explaining my concern over an urgent safety matter. We arranged for an appointment the next day. I was surprised when minutes later Luciano (the owner) called me back to give me some tips to troubleshoot the smoke detector system myself to save the cost of a service visit. After performing the checks myself it was confirmed that problem was for a professional. I called Luciano back and he told me that he would come out himself the very next morning. Luciano arrived right on time and immediately reviewed his qualifications, transparent pricing and walked us through the approach to diagnose our issue. Our issue was quickly diagnosed and fixed ensuring the safety of my family and home. In solving our problem he revealed that there were some further safety issues and a code violation. Hi- Lite provided a temporary fix and promised to return the following week once an additional resource was available along with parts and a permit to do the required work. I appreciated the attention to compliance and details to ensure that the job was done right. Sure enough Luciano returned and fixed the items which were non-compliant and performed a top to bottom circuit check for our home. We were very happy with level of professionalism, transparency of work and focus on customer service. I felt so positive about the service I received that I already recommended Hi-Lite to my family!
