Retained Titan Landscaping as regular gardener was unable to reach tops of hedge. Only one person came to do the work and took four days to complete the task, whereas my regular gardener and assistant were able to trim front, back, sides of hedge in one day at a much lower cost. The Titan topping was uneven and worker had to be reminded several times to level off sections and remove left-over branches. Photos attached. There were late arrivals and a day cancelled by the worker, suggesting poor time management and scheduling skills. On the final day worker presented additional charges for bin rental, late fees, gas without providing documentation for the rental and late fees, or mileage and gas receipts, despite several assurances that the quoted price was fixed. This initial review was posted Feb. 20 and the owners called the same day to fix the uneven topping without further cost. We arranged an appt. for Feb. 22 at noon, as I had onlne classes until 10:30. They arrived at 10:15 which interrupted my class. While I appreciated their initiative in remedying the uneven work, I am unable to increase my satisfaction rating to full approval, as they knew my schedule and ignored it, and only did the remediation work after the initial negative review.

Adanac replaced my roof in 2017 with a duradek vinyl and did a great job. There were some minor leaks two years later and they were fixed promptly. Recently the wood fascia developed rot and Kurt at Adanac responded promptly again. He sent Manny out for both jobs and Manny did great repairs. Before and after photos appear below.

Initial confusion about A/C model required for size of house, lineset required and slim duct covers needed. Crew installed A/C lineset through interior joists to garage and out to back yard, so less lineset was required, but they neglected to bring the slim duct covers and initially just covered the exterior lineset with black duct tape, which looked terrible. Contacted Direct Buy estimator and 2nd crew came and installed exterior slim duct covers, in a timely manner. Photos showing the duct tape version and the slim duct cover version appear below. Very please with final results.

John responded almost immediately to my service request and over a weekend we decided on the style, colour, and trim for the garage door replacement. He was able to order the replacement and installed it on Monday. He arrived on time and completed the installation in about 4 hrs. and removed the old door and rails. I was very impressed with his efficiency.

Over the weekend I noticed that the front patio area was flooded and contacted several plumbing companies for the repair. Drain Master was the only company that used a proprietary trenchless method that would replace the old pipe without disturbing the patio brickwork and landscaping. Jose and Victor worked efficiently throughout the project, from installation to clean-up. There was a slight glitch as they had the impression that the water main shut-off was on the west side of the house and spent some time digging in the wrong place, but once I contacted the city and obtained the coordinates for the WM shut=off and they found the unit, they worked steadily until the job was completed. The before and after photos are attached. I was very impressed that the patio bricks did not have to be dismantled and re-assembled, which would have been an additional expense. I obtained three quotes before I decided to go with Adanac Roofing, as I a was impressed with their product information, warrenty and professionalism. The Adanac crew did a great job in replacing my 35 yr. old roof in three days. Clean-up was thorough, and my house perimeter was left spotless. Kurt Livingston, the project manager, also arranged for a complimentary replacement of four leaking elbow joints...the before and after photos are shown.

My old garburator sprang a leak, so required a replacement. I bought a replacment unit but was unable to disconnect the old unit, so called for help from GVA yesterday, and they were able to fit me into their schedule for 12:30 the next day. Work was completed in a timely efficient manner and they removed the old unit for recycling.

My dryer duct had fallen out and the dryer vent screen was cracked, so I called Andrew for the repairs. I provided the materials (duct pipe, clamps, exterior vent, interior connectors to vent and dryer) and sent him photos. He provided a quote and estimated time for the repairs. He was able to schedule me within a week, and completed the work within his estimated time frame. Andrew has done work for me previously and I continue to be pleased with the quality of his workmanship, as he goes one step beyond the job, such as cleaning the floor in the dryer space and care in caulking the exterior vent. I would highly recommend him for any handyman work.

Staff arrived on time, completed work within estimated time frame, and price was as initially quoted with no hidden costs or surprises. As dryer vent was blocked with lint, extra steps were taken to clear the vent. Suggestions for a furnace filter cleaning schedule and alternatives for avoiding future dryer vent problems were given.

Gerald at Mother Nature's has maintained my lawn and trimmed my cedar hedge for over ten years. He is meticulous about clean up and disposal of garden waste. His rates are reasonable and competitive.

I had four sets of door frames that were weather damaged and in various stages of deterioration. Andrew provided a reasonable estimate and was able to complete the work in three days. He was professional and organized, and cleaned up the work site each day. I have attached pre-and post repair photos on the garage door entry as a sample of Andrew's work. I would highly recommend him for any handyman repairs and would call on him again should any other work be required.

I needed my ceilings painted and contacted three companies for quotes and available times in July, 2012. ProRise’s initial quote was twice the amount quoted by the other two companies and I was prepared to wait until September when the other companies were available. In the meantime, Joseph Halfar re-contacted me and presented a revised quote that was more in line with the other companies and stated he would assign a two man crew for Aug. 18, 2012. As we were having a family wedding and guests Aug. 24th, I decided to give ProRise a try. On Aug. 18th, a two man crew arrived promptly at 9:00 AM, prepared the areas by taping protective plastic on all other surfaces, and worked in a professional and efficient manner. They removed all the potlight housing prior to painting and replaced them after completing the job. There was an error in the paint color, and this was pointed out by the crew. I appreciated the fact that they informed me of the paint color difference, rather than just blindly using the paint because it was there. The situation was quickly rectified with replacement paint that was a closer match to the original paint. The crew left a quart of left-over paint for future touch-ups, cleaned up, replaced the potlight housings, and even painted one that was discolored, and moved furniture back to their original places after the job was done. I am highly satisfied with the professionalism and efficiency of the crew assigned to this job, and would recommend them to friends and family; however the same cannot be said of Joseph Halfar, who made errors in the job quote, invoicing, and paint match, as he neglected to take the available paint sample and formulation that was offered. He also posted an abridged version of my feedback without my prior permission and when I commented that future customers should have full disclosure, he agreed to post the complete version but did not.
