We found Andy on Homestars after reading a lot of reviews and company profiles. These days it is so difficult to find someone, let alone someone to at the least call you back. We feel fortunate that we found Andy because this project has take a lot of energy to get going. With Andy it has been a breeze. Amazing communication, fair quote, quality materials, and he is very knowledgeable when it comes to finding the right materials or which method of repair is best for the situation. We also went with his roofer and were really happy they could seamlessly co-ordinate their work flow. Andys roofer also did things properly rather than cutting corners. Thank you for getting the job done properly Andy, its a weight off my shoulders we will definitely be using you again.

I did my online research and came across Window Blinds Direct. The main things that stood out to me were that they were a family owned business, good communication and responsive if there were any issues, high quality products and smooth installation. During these COVID times I didn’t have the time or energy to get multiple quotes or have multiple people in my space. I went with my gut and contacted Michael at Window Blinds Direct. He was very responsive and provided a lot of information prior to Charles coming to measure. Installation went well and Charles was able to install in a particularly challenging location above a set of stairs. The whole process went so smoothly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. After getting a few quotes, we decided on Quality Age Build because of a trusted friend’s recommendation. I was impressed by the professionalism throughout the process. The quotation process was thorough and went through the waterproofing process in detail. The job was done in a timely matter and the job was fully completed without any loose ends. I have called Valentin for any plumbing issue for the past few years. He is always reliable and able to address our problem the day I call or the following day. He is very professional and always is very knowledgeable of what he is working on. As well, in these COVID times, he comes with his PPE and is respectful of the spaces he enters. We had a leaky outdoor faucet. Probably the original piping. I was expecting it to become a large job, but he was able to address the problem with a non invasive reasonably priced option. We have used Renato multiple times for our HVAC needs. He is the first person I call because he has a very quick response time. Almost always he is able to address the problem on the same day that I call. Renato came and quickly was able to assess the issue and fix it. He also explains in detail what the options are and what he is going to do. He also gives helpful advice on caring for your HVAC to prevent the issue from happening again. Thank you Renato!

The shut off on our shower faucet broke late at night. We had to turn off the main water supply. In the morning I telephoned Valentin hoping he could address the problem ASAP as I am at home with 2 children and its not ideal having no water. He immediately responded to my text and was at our house late morning. He also took the time to explain how to replace the shower cartridge on my own in case it ever happened again. I appreciated him taking the time to do that. Thank you Valentin. You are always our go to plumber!

We have used Pete in the past. He promptly addressed and trouble shot our problem over email on the weekend and came to make the repair early Monday. The repair is located at our rental property so it was great that it was dealt with quickly and without any stress. Thank you Pete!

Marcos has helped us with various plumbing projects, including 3 bathrooms, new plumbing for our laundry sink and hook up to the washing machine, and most recently a leaky outdoor faucet. He quickly will respond if called and tries to address the issue promptly. He can easily assess the problem and problem solve a solution. We have used FC Locksmith a few times now. They have always been able to respond quickly and get the job done promptly. The technician is very knowledgeable about locks and helped explain which lock was best for our needs. The locks that have been installed are high quality and we have had no problems with any of them.

Debora and her crew were very accommodating to my last minute need for a cleaner. They did a very thorough clean, including the inside of all appliances. I will definitely be calling them for any future cleaning needs. Thank you!

I have been trying to find a good electrician for a few years now. I have found some on Homestars which have good ratings but are terrible at communication and the work doesn't get done. Mark was great with communication and committing to getting the work done. He is very knowledgeable and will explain what options there are for a given job. When we moved into our new house we were informed that there was asbestos on the ceiling pipes in the basement. I contacted a few companies from Home Stars, but went with Canada's Restoration Services because they were very detailed when explaining their processes to me and they had a competitive price. The work took about half a day. We were very pleased with the final product. All of the pipes were stripped clean of asbestos and the floors were left clean. Thank you, it's nice to know that is out of our house!

From initial contact, Insta-insulation gave great customer service. They were good at explaining the different options and what the process would involve. When we had addition questions, they were easy to reach. While working, they were very respectful of our space and protected the floor surfaces. Thank you!

Sometimes when I have gotten people to do work on homestars that have great reviews, they are almost too busy with work to give good service. Renato had great communication and really focuses on each job. He is very knowledgable and explains as he works about what he is doing and why. He repaired a few things which were not done properly when our furnace was initially installed by someone else. He will be the person I will contact in the future.

The reason I initially went with Warren is that he contacted me by phone and not a string of emails. He is very personable and all communication is done directly. He is very easy to reach and keeps you up to date with how the project is coming along. As well, I found his rates to be great! It allowed us to purchase top of the line paint. Peter immediately called me after I emailed him through Homestars. He quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to obtain the parts needed to repair my stove. He was very flexible and able to work around my work schedule to come at a convenient time. He was prompt and was able to repair the stove quickly. Would definitely use Pambis again. Thank you!

I don't know what more to say other than we have found our plumber for life! Valentin responded to my homestars message by phone minutes after I contacted him. He was easy to book a time with and when he arrived, he was prompt. He is very knowledgable and quickly told me my options and what to expect with each. He isolated the problem and had it fixed in less than half an hour. He then had time to install the vent, which we had not previously discussed. He was very accommodating and efficient! A&A Masonry did a great job with the tuck pointing of our house, but mainly I was so impressed with the brickwork they did over a basement window. It looks amazing, and they matched the brick so well that you can barley tell work was done. As well, they stuck to their quoted price. Thank you!

After having a hard time getting a handyman to follow through on their quote and actually start work, Charlie was a life saver. Immediately after giving us a quote he set up a schedule to begin work. (And he stuck to the schedule). Charlie was easy to reach and prompt to return our calls. All of the work done was meticulous, especially with the plumbing, and the job site was always left clean.
