I bought a duct cleaning package from one of the voucher companies. It was easy to book the appointment. The guys showed up on time and were professional. I have no complaints about the service or company. I would use them again.

Bought a new couch from here. I had a store credit from a previous couch for which I bought an extended warranty. I never get those, but I am glad I did this time. The warranty cost $100 at the time (it's more now) and they gave me a full refund for the previous couch in the form of a store credit. My first couch was a floor model on a huge discount so they would only reimburse what I paid but I was fine with that since they gave full value. Anyway, I bought a new couch on sale and it's perfect for what I need. I have two toddlers and a dog so I'm not looking for anything high end. I just want something decent that I won't freak out about if it doesn't last long. I'll get 'adult' furniture when the kids leave! I was happy with what I got, happy with the extended warranty and they knocked off half the delivery cost. I only gave 3 on recommend because I wouldn't recommend them to everybody necessarily. If you want affordable furniture, then yes. If you're something high end then this might not be for you.

I needed a couple small basement windows for my basement reno and I am glad I went to Brock Windows. I went to the store in Scarborough. They were very professional and helpful. They did not feel like salespeople trying to upsell me on things I did not need. I actually asked about a couple things and they told me I did not need that for the type of windows I was getting. I picked the windows up and they were perfect. They went in easily and look great. I did not use their installation service as a friend did the install for me. I'll go back to Brock any time I need a new window.

I called Woodbridge Climate Care to reconnect my furnace and hot water tank after removing them while I lowered my basement. Somebody came over the next day to review the work needed. While here, he said I may also need a new chimney liner which meant more money. He said he was not certain as he just glanced at that part but would have the guys bring one over when they came and they'd be able to tell once they opened it up. I got the estimate and to be honest, it was a bit higher than I was expecting. But I felt good about them. Even though the guy said I may need more work, it didn't feel like he was just adding it on. I accepted the estimate and they were here the next day to do the job. They showed up on time and worked for most of the day. They did a great job and in the end I did not need the new chimney liner. They were honest about it and said it was not required so that made me feel pretty good about them. They were not adding on unnecessary work for the sake of making more money. Overall, I am very happy with the job they did and will call them again for any gas issues.

I had some large limbs removed from a tree in my backyard. Steve came in and gave me an estimate and was in to do the work a couple days later. He did a nice job pruning the tree and removing the dangerous limbs. His operation is bare bones. It is him and one other guy. They don't have a chipper or anything like that. Where you save money is by putting the wood out on the curb by yourself. He cuts everything down to firewood size and stacks it in the yard and then you haul it out front for people to come pick up. It took me about 30 minutes to get it all out front and when I woke up the next morning, all the wood was gone. If you don't have a major job (i.e. taking a massive tree down) and don't mind doing a bit of clean up yourself, call Steve.

Tony came recommended by my neighbour who used him for the same job the previous year. I had my basement lowered, underpinned, waterproofed, new windows and window wells, and new steel support beams for the ceiling. Tony and his crew did an amazing job. These guys work hard! His crew is very polite - my 2 year old loved them. They are very clean and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Tony is very helpful and gave some great advice for questions I had about the next stages of my reno. And the best thing about Braga is they have the best rates. I had five estimates and Braga's was by far the best. But don't let that fool you. These guys do amazing work and totally deserve their high rating. Highly recommended.

I bought a Groupon for custom framing from the Framing Dames. I thought it was a bit far out to go for something I can get in many places close by, but bought it thinking it was a good discount. Boy was I wrong. I brought in a couple 8x10 photos to get framed in a basic thin black wood frame. I thought that a $100 voucher would cover most of the cost. We started with one photo, picked out the frame and border and she gave me a quote of $170 before tax for one picture! And this was one of the cheapest frames they had in the store. $170 for a single 8x10 photo to be framed is insane. The lady who was helping me was finding ways to bring the cost down a bit (smaller border inside, for example) but it was not having much effect. The other lady, who I assume is in charge, told her she could not do certain things to reduce the cost because I had a voucher. I then told her that I thought her prices were very high considering that I have had pictures twice that size framed for half the price downtown and she said that it was probably shoddy work. I suppose she was offended by me saying her prices were high because she then said 'Look, we're a business, not a charity.' I packed my things up and left.

Roots from an old tree grew into the drain pipe that goes out to the sewer causing a back up in my basement. I called Roto-Rooter and they came by soon after to inspect. They dug up part of the basement and replaced the old clay pipe with PVC so the roots will not grow back in. It was done the next day. For things like clogged pipes, Roto-Rooter is great. I was very satisfied.

I had a tree in my backyard that had been destroyed by carpenter ants. The trunk was hollowed right out. I called CB Tree and was lucky to find that Craig was in my area so he came right over to inspect the tree. He gave me a very reasonable quote that included trimming back a few large limbs from another tree that were overhanging my yard. The crew came by a couple days later and took out the tree and the limbs. They did an outstanding job. The clean up was incredible. My yard was cleaner than when they arrived! And the price was excellent. It was much less than I was expecting. If you have any tree issues, I highly recommend CB Tree.
