We had a huge move, and were anxious about getting the right movers. Kingston's First Choice Movers had very positive reviews. After meeting with Cameron, we knew we were in good hands. Our move was somewhat complicated, and involved two absolutely full truck loads spread over two days. The same crew handled the move each day, and throughout, they demonstrated the same level of professionalism, friendliness, and tireless work. Mike is incredibly knowledgeable. He did a long, very detailed pre-offer inspection. We were anxious about buying the house, but he did a long, thorough masterclass on every component. As he took us around, he explained in great detail exactly what would have to be done to address any issues, however minor. His report was huge, and serves as our roadmap for future work. Mike has remained available for followup and questions, and has pointed us in the right direction for finding good contractors to help with future repairs and projects around the home and property. After a violent storm, water leaked into the interior walls of our upper stairwell. After contacting Diane, she looked at all possible entry points for the water, then brought in a team to perform an Infrared inspection for leaks in the roof, eaves trough, and the north side of our house. After pinpointing the source of the leaks (a poorly installed skylight with cracks in the frame), the original skylight, membrane and surrounding shingles were removed and all replaced. No more leaks! Once everything has dried up inside, Diane will then arrange to fix and paint the inside where there is water damage, but we aren't there quite yet. Through it all, Diane has been absolutely amazing. She is very personable, extremely conscientious, and a bundle of energy. Diane is only satisfied when she does top quality work at a very good price. We couldn't be happier! David & Kristine

Our central air conditioner had a refrigerant leak (again) and was finally beyond repair just as the temperatures soared into the 30’s. After filling in the Belyea online request form, which included information about a bedridden family member who was stuck upstairs in the heat, we received a call first thing in the morning on the next business day. The team prioritized sending Bruce out within a few hours. He (and later, Philip) answered our many questions, and arranged for the installation of a new Daikin DX13SA central air conditioner just a few days later. The installers (Paul and Marc) were considerate and efficient, and, after more than half a day's continuous work, left everything neat and functioning well! Thanks to Belyea for rescuing us -- we are very happy with the service and the results!! D & K

Our basement floor drains were from the original house (1945), and were quite a mess! Sewer gases have always been a problem. Recently, the problem escalated so much that we could barely stand being in the house. We called Sewer Squad and Phil called back almost immediately. He came out to give us an estimate, and showed us a detailed video of our entire drain system and sewer line. There were lots of problems with broken and shifted drain pipes, backflow damages, and unused branches to old drains and the old downspout connection. We gave Phil the go-ahead, and within a few days or so he and his crew had completed the job. The floor was broken up and the drains were replaced/repaired. A number of old branches were deleted, and a mainline backwater valve was installed. Additionally, part of our driveway was excavated to repair the damaged sewer line. After all that, no sewer gas, and fully functioning drains — wish we had done it years ago! Throughout the whole process, Phil answered a ton of questions, and dealt with us in a friendly, straightforward, and honest manner. The work was done with professionalism and great care. I would not hesitate to recommend Sewer Squad to friends. Thank you Phil and Sewer Squad!

We have had some mold issues in one area of our basement. Even though they seemed to be more or less under control, we decided to contact Gregg about removing a room (and floor) that was largely causing the problem, properly finishing and insulating the area, and finishing up a few small areas in the basement. The job would take about 5 days, and involved a wonderful team – Edward, Shane and Colm. They were always on time, checked with us promptly when decisions needed to be made, and were extremely honest and respectful. Our house looked a lot better afterward; you couldn't even tell that a crew had been in the house working for a week or so! The work was top notch, and updates from Gregg (and Edward) were frequent and helpful. They made sure that all off-gassing of paint and other working materials were sealed off in the basement and fully evacuated. Although we usually experience difficult side effects due to the chemicals and toxins related to construction and renovation projects, we could barely tell (other than the sounds) that a part of our basement was being transformed. An older tankless hot water heater had self-destructed, leaving us without any hot water. We were beginning to panic. Looking for a trustworthy, preferably local company to deal with this was stressful, to say the least. Then a friend recommended Belyea Bros. Stephen and David came over to survey the situation. For various reasons, a new hot water tank had to be installed in a new location closer to the main water and gas lines. This would require new connections for water and gas, along with a tank (which we purchased from Belyea as part of our agreement). The installation team came out exactly when scheduled, just about noon. They worked quickly and efficiently, finishing by late afternoon. And the work was of top-notch quality. We are extremely pleased, and would highly recommend the very professional and friendly staff at Belyea Bros!

We looked for a positively reviewed handyman in our area and came up with Mr Rescue. After contacting Charlie and having him over to check out the situation, he recommended that a roof repair company be contacted to fix some roof problems, but was more than willing to take on our other jobs. Charlie scheduled a week for the work, and he and his crew showed up raring to go. A stud wall was built in our walk-in closet, closet components were installed, a rusting shower base was torn up, rebuilt and retiled, and a few other small issues were fixed around the house. We couldn't be happier. The work was of very high quality – we wish we had found Charlie earlier. Already planning the next project!

I guess our problems were a long time in the making. After having a 2nd storey added just over 8 years ago, we realized there were a lot of quality issues with the addition and renovation. Not being roofing experts, we didn't know that the flashing around the skylight, wasn't done properly, and we increasingly became aware that the roof ventilation was inadequate. Then in late June we noticed a small leak coming through near the skylight. Water had apparently come through and entered the attic space and into our 2nd floor ceiling right next to the skylight. Lots of mould, and some minor water damage. But it would only get worse if we didn't do something. So we called Elvis at All-Call Services. What a breath of fresh air! Elvis was very knowledgeable, knew exactly how to fix things, and would come out within a week, even though he was busy with a lot of other projects. He came to East York (not exactly in his neighbourhood), removed the skylight, fixed the ice and water damage around it, re-shingled a fair area around it, and replaced the skylight with a properly sealed flashing. Each step was documented with pictures, which we were shown. In addition, 3 additional roof vents were installed. We can already feel the difference, as less heat is staying trapped in the attic. The 2nd floor is a little bit cooler. All in all, thorough work, a fair price, a high quality result... Thank you Elvis! -- David & Kristine

We have health issues related to mould, and our doctor had insisted that we have our basement checked out. I called Accu-Star after checking out reviews. Nev came over within a week of my phone call. He was knowledgeable, helpful, honest, friendly, and extremely thorough. He scanned the entire house with a thermal scanner, making sure that we understood everything we were seeing. Nev then identified a number of key areas which will be dealt with in time, and made sure to brief us after so that we fully understood what he had found and what our options were. He recommended holding off on testing until we had completely removed "stuff" from a busy area of the basement - testing will be completed after we have finished removing and checking everything. I cannot recommend Accu-Star enough! No regrets!
