A basic basement renovation quoted to be completed within 3 to 4 weeks took 11 and was not entirely fulfilled to the promised standard. What began with promise ended as a very negative experience overall.
The project is over, yet there is still work to be done. I chose to look for other certified professionals to complete the job. The remaining work relates to plumbing, electrical, drywalling and painting. All items which should not be outstanding.
If I had required a tiling job or basic bathroom remodel, LCR Planners would have sufficed, but a basement project involving plumbing, drywall, electrical, flooring and painting proved too much to handle. I did not find the work done to be at a professional standard and leave this review and project with much regret.
Unfortunately, I would not hire LCR Planners again.
UPDATE (10/24/2023):
Both LCR Planners' response as well as the aftermath of the mess left behind warrants an update to this review.
LCR: 'We understand that [...] a renovation on a budget can be challenging."
Response: Im not sure what this means. All renos are on a budget. I accepted the initial estimate and contract as is with the promise of prestigious work and finishing. Our budget was blown because of additional costs incurred paying for multiple damages which could have easily been avoided had there been more care and attention as well as a higher level of accountability and professionalism.
The agreed upon contractual timeframe of 14-23 days wasn't exceed by only a few days or weeks. It took more than 70 days and was still incomplete.
I've since had 2 certified plumbers raise concerns about the work and I am now (again) having to pay to tear down and redo part of the bathroom shower fixture, tiles, and drywall. I must throw out a shower panel that was unnecessarily taken apart during the installation.
I'm still, to today, cleaning up the mess left behind. This includes removing and re-applying caulking, sanding, and finishing all new drywall and ceilings as well as completing all remaining contract items. Considering the amount of work left to complete and the general repairs to what was supposedly finished, I still elected to part ways with LCR Planners as my best avenue forward.
My feedback was intended for LCR Planners to perform a self-audit to see where the planning, scheduling and risk mitigation was heavily lacking. Please do continue to work on improving your services.
