Happy Reno

We are writing this today in order to warn everyone from dealing with Dmitriy HappyReno. Dmitriy started the job in a very positive way but afterwards we discovered that he is a dishonest and does not stand by his words. Although the job looks nice, the quality of it is unprofessional! We renovated our bathroom a year ago and at a moment we are dealing with leaks from the bathtub and from the shower area. Our dining room ceiling is completely destroyed. On top of that he damaged our hardwood floor to the point that it needs to be replaced. He promised to make it right, but he never did. We brought a different company to try and fix the damages that he had caused to our bathroom and dining room ceiling and they are shocked from how it was done. A total mess! Neither Dmitriy or his crew are professional plumbers. It is probably our fault since we never asked for his license or proof of insurance in order to cover damages caused by his work, which he doesn't have !!!! He not does not take responsibility for his actions and the damages that he caused and does not respond to letters he received from our paralegal. A
The only good thing he can do is sell.

Hired Dmitriy to do a basement reno, when it came time for 2nd installment which was a prepayment, he said he would finish my basement within the week. I paid the $12k installment and he didn't do the work. Left a huge mess in my house and outside. He kept saying he is coming back next week and didn't show up. Would ignore calls and text occasionaly to say he was coming back soon. Some of the work that he did was not proper and actually created more work in repairs. Pics of empty space in basement that was supposed to be a kitchen and garbage he left outside. Kept promising to remove it and never did.

Dimitry and his team started out great. They had promised to complete a master bathroom full renovation in about 7 days. With some delays and poor planning it was almost about 42 days and then when around 90% of the project was completed. Dmitriy took the last payment and disappeared. Tried calling and emailing but no luck. Had to finish project thru another contractor almost 60days later.
Not sure why or what happened but things started out well, Dmitriy was very accommodating thru the process . But then vanished. It's too bad as I had 2 other referrals for him. He left the bathroom old materials which I had to get rid of. Unfortunately wouldn't recommend seeing he didn't finish the project. Things happen but it how you handle it that matters, wish he was more of a man to just pick up the phone to chat and explain what was wrong. If he couldn't finish for whatever reason just say so instead of ghosting and disappearing. Like the review before don't pay in full until the job is done. My mistake was i trusted him.

Experiencing delays and non responsiveness from the contractor. Happy Reno has committed to fixing issues, but its been dragging on for months now.

Our experience with "Happy Reno" is the worst contractor experience we've ever had....and we have worked with numerous trades. We hired them to fix a shower that we suspected may be leaking. And now, we have an actually leaking shower and way more problems. At first, it seemed like Dimitri and his team did a beautiful job. But it was a painful experience. They dropped concrete all over my stairs, scratched my front door and spilled concrete on my front porch. Then, the caulking job was the sloppy. There is caulking all over the glass doors, footprints on our floor...all which cannot be removed (I have tried everything). THEN, within 3 months of the renovation, the shower leaked and damaged our kitchen ceiling. Another pro told us it was a tile installation issue. After educating ourselves, we learned that they used the wrong products to install the tile and did not waterproof the shower walls. Total shower system failure. When I called Dimitri to fix it, they came super quick (awesome), but Dimitri dismissed the root issues that we identified. They did a quick patch which will likely get us through the next couple of months. Then, to patch the hole in my kitchen ceiling was another nightmare. No timely follow through and MORE errors. The ceiling was patched WITHOUT adding taping around the drywall edge. This is such a basic thing...how did professional contractors not know this? Overall, we regret going with this company. We've spent so much time, stress and extra money fixing their mistakes. Be warned....
