We are extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with Heyde Haus’ performance, including a severe lack of attention throughout the entire project. As a result, there were numerous issues and deficiencies that we needed to rectify at our cost:
Numerous issues of negligence were encountered: interior walls were not square or plumb, stair treads were uneven, etc. Heyde Haus refused to rectify these problems. An independent carpentry crew had to be retained to repair the walls in order to apply the drywall correctly. This additional work cost approximately $45,000 which we have yet to collect from Heyde Haus.
Another major issue was the roofing. During installation, parts of the roof had to re-done twice due to lack of attention on the part of Heyde Haus and the roofing contractor. As a result, the roof leaked causing internal damage. Heyde Haus has refused to provide corrective action for their negligence and convinced the New Home Warranty not to cover the replacement. We had to have the roofing replaced at our cost. We are now forced to go through the courts to apply for collection of the costs from Heyde Haus.
We also purchased very expensive European doors and windows through Heyde Haus. Although these are high quality doors and windows, Heyde Haus has insufficient knowledge of what they were selling. We are still working through the final solution for the doors.
We strongly discourage anyone from using Heyde Haus as a builder.
