We are very disappointed by how we were treated by this company.
Sean came to our home on August 4th, after my husband had found his company contact information through Google. Two of our sliding patio doors needed repair, as they were getting harder to slide. He came by and offered us a quote to do the job, and mentioned that he could offer to do this work right away for us, since he had all the components available for the repair in his car. We accepted.
He repaired 2 of our sliding patio doors by placing new sliders underneath for $700. This work first of all did not take him too long to do, so at that point we also thought that he had over charged us. Not to mention that we now know since checking on the web, that the type of sliders he put in place cost less than $30 each, and this is the retail price.
After the work was done, we paid in full, and then at that point he asked me sign the receipt which also included his 1 year warranty, that he had promised to offer us for his work. He placed the receipt on the side of our kitchen table, we thanked him, and we said our goodbyes. All seemed ok at this point.
After he left, I took the receipt which was his “so called warranty”, so that I could file it safely away. Upon reviewing it, I was very surprised to see that all he left us was a generic standard invoice signed only by me, which did not even have his company name or logo identified on it. So basically, all we had was a piece of paper which identified our payment, without his company name or signature on it.
One of the doors was still a bit tough to open and squeaked, so we hoped for him to come back and fine tune it. We contacted him the next day. Both my husband and I text messaged and emailed Sean several times, and all we heard was I will send my guy, and this between the time frame of August 4th and August 28th. More than 24 days later, we were still trying to get him to come by. He kept saying that he will send his guy. Then he started with excuses like “his guy came to our home and we were not there”, and that “his guy also called us 10 times”. And these are his exact words, which were sent to me through text.
We never had any missed calls showIng on our cell phones, nor were any voice messages ever left. All we had was him arguing with us and excuses why they had not yet come by. At the end, all we wanted from Sean was for him to send us his 1 year warranty through email. This in case the door got worst over the winter months and could need repair at some point later in time. We asked for his warranty to be sent simply through email, and he refused to send it. To this day almost 7 weeks later, we have still not received it.
My husband and I work from home and we use our phones for business, so during the day our phones are always on, and we are always at our desks. We are home at all times, and even on the day that his guy “once supposedly did try to visit us, and also rang our door bell”.
We feel that Sean was sure quick to take our money, but not honourable enough to come back to do the repair or provide his official “1 year promised warranty to us”. At the end, all we wanted was for him to just send us this warranty, and he refused to do so.
I will let you decide whether you wish to work with a company like this or not. Beware.
