Kitchen Hood Fan Service call

I was told that the fee to come out and look at the problem would be $80. I had a broken fan that needed replacement. I had the replacement there (there were issues getting the unit out after a kitchen Reno and I was hoping parts could be exchanged). After briefly looking at the problem, we were told that the motor would need to be replaced (we knew that). We were then charged $320 on top of the service fee for labour!! There was No labour. The guy that came out didnt even have a ladder or a service vehicle or what seemed like proper equipment. He said he couldnt do anything without a new motor that would cost an additional $580. I had the parts there but he said it wouldnt fit. He rushed out and that was the transaction. I called customer service who explained that him looking at the motor and identifying it needed to be replaced was servicing. They didnt care. Absolutely the worst service I have ever worked with. Please stay clear of them.

Unscrupulous business practices/unethical

I called the Appliance Repair Team and was told it would cost $80 for the service call to come and repair our Jenn-Air fridge that was leaking water from the bottom and when the technician arrived he stated that he would do an indepth analysis/service to repair the fridge for $320+tax. After working for less than 30 minutes, the technician stated that the fridge required a new main board and condenser fan for $2400+tax. I was absolutely shocked and requested that they leave my home immediately, however I had to pay the $320+tax and my fridge was not repaired. I called the manufacturer (Jenn-Air) and they sent a qualified technician through their preferred provider and the technician repaired the fridge for $120+tax. The qualified technician told me that our issue is a very common and simple matter to fix. Appliance Repair Team's business practices are unethical and unscrupulous to say the least.

Dishwasher repair

My Bosch dishwasher is displaying an E15 error code. I looked it up and found out that this indicates a leak in the base of the dishwasher. When the technician arrived he did no open the bottom of the machine to see what was leaking or where the leak was located. After looking at the machine for less than 5 minutes he tells me that the circuit board is malfunctioning and causing a leak.
I said to him that you haven't looked at the machine. How do you know it is not a cracked hose or something simple that is leaking. He insisted that it was the circuit board. Also that the repair would start at $280 plus parts and taxes.
After repeated back and for he finally pulled out the machine and found a puddle of water. He then told me again that the circuit board is malfunctioning causing a leak.
Actually it is the water inlet valve that is leaking. I was able to pick up the part from a supplier for $30.59. It is a matter of unplugging the valve then unscrewing it and replacing the same.
This young man told me that I was extremely rude and even if I wanted him to repair the dishwasher he would do so.
After he found the puddle he asked me if I wanted him to go ahead. I asked him if the price was still as he quoted. And that the part was around $30. He laughed at me and said that wasn't true.
I would never recommend this service to anyone!!
I even told him that I would leave them an unfavourable review and his response was that "he didn't care". That says it all.

Samsung Washer tE code

My Samsung Washer displayed a tE error. When I contacted ART (Markham) via phone, the CS lady notified me that the technician will give me a quote for fixing the problem and parts will cost extra. I agreed for a technician visit to check my washer. Upon arrival the technician said that it will take around 2-3 hours to fix the problem and quoted me $320 + tax as labour. Within an hour he informed me that I need to buy a new temperature sensor which will cost me another $340 + tax. I could pay to him the cash for it now or contact the CS rep pay via Paypal. When I checked the price of the sensor online, it was only $50. I was wondering why he was quoting me such a high price when I already paid him his labour charges to fix the issue. To find some clarification, I called the CS rep the next day and shared my concerns but instead of any resolution, she threatened me to pay for the part or get it fixed by someone else. I requested her to give me the contact information of the manager but she refused and hung up on me. AR Team was unprofessional and rude to me. Their only motive is to make money out of innocent customers who trust the technicians who come to fix their broken appliances. DO NOT GET ANY APPLIANCE SERVICE FROM THEM.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AND TECHNICIAN
He ordered wrong part, after 13 days when they came the new part had a same problem, he was so unprofessional technician, if he didn't misdiagnosis, we didn't loose our money and also more than $200 meat and fish and groceries.
I PAID $840 JUST FOR WRONG DIAGNOSIS

UNSATISFACTORY SERVICES

VERY POOR SERVICES, TWO AGENTS HANG UP THE CALL WITHOUT LISTENING CAREFULLY. THIS COMPANY IS MISGUIDING THE PEOPLE AND THEY CHARGE FOR NO REASON. THEY MENTION THAT MY FRIDGE WILL START WORKING AND COOLING AFTER 12 HRS AND MY FRIDGE STILL NOT WORKING AFTER 19 HRS. AND THEY CHARGE $452 AND NOW THEY ARE ASKING FOR $785.65+ TAX FOR THE PART. NEVER EVER APPROACH THE COMPANY . THIS COMPANY IS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH AND THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS.AND THEY ARE NOT LISTENING THE CALL AND HANGING UP THE CALL. THEY DONT DISCLOSE THE REAL FACTS WHEN THEY SHOW UP AT YOUR HOME. AND ON MY CONSISTENT REQUEST , THE AGENTS ARE NOT PASSING THE CALL TO THE MANAGER.

Horrible Service and experience

The service tech came in to look at a small wine fridge. He looked at the device for 2 minutes, claimed that he knew the problem and that he had seen it before, and told me the repair is a simple part replacement which will cost $250. I agreed, but after 30 minutes he claimed that another part was also broken and that that part was an additional $400ish. I was already $250 in the hole so I agreed because he assured me that this would solve the issue. After he did the work, he said its working, and that the fridge would take a couple hours to cool but we noticed pretty quickly that the fridge still wasn't working. I called him back and now he told me that I need a new compressor and it's not worth repairing given it costs $1,500.00. He told me to call customer service to see what they can do, but I wish I never contacted them.
Email communications were rude, and I was pretty much told in 1 line email exchanges that that since parts were installed, they cannot issue a refund, taking no responsibility that the work was agreed to based on the recommendation and assurance of their service technicians.
I called in to see if I could have a better chance speaking with a person, but it was the worst customer service call I have ever experienced. Wish I had a recording to share but she literally did not let me speak, speaking over me and eventually putting me on hold while I was speaking, only to offer me 10% discount on the new $1,500 compressor which I told her I was not interested in.
I wish I had checked these reviews before calling them in the first place, as its obvious now that my experience is very common. Do not use this company!

microwave repair NOT done but customer charged

my microwave door was stuck in lock position. Their repairman came,
said a new lock part needed to be ordered, charged $423 up front.
I was on the fence but decided to go ahead. Paid them upfront. Repairman came back and found another problem with the door that wud be a few more hundred dollars to fix. I asked about refund and the repairman said I shud get partial refund. I called Customer svc/acct'g and the unpleasant rep said repeatedly NO REFUND.
DO NOT USE this firm altho they will likely just reappear under another name.

Do not use this Company

We had issues with our ice maker. They basically defrosted the freezer and told us we have to replace the valve another 349 with no guarantees that it will work. After they left the display on the fridge no longer worked spent time on the phone with customer service who told us to send an email. No response and its been two days. The woman on the phone tried to tell us it has nothing to do with the repair even though it was working until their repair guy showed up. We had to google how to reset and fixed ourselves. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - Ice Maker

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They are clearly not a factory authorized or trained service company. Do not waste your money and time with them. They will charge you $90 to show up and do absolutely nothing. Then they will provide a quote for repair... in my case $265 to unplug a refrigerator and defrost it.... i can do that for free THANKS!!!
Then they will have you sign off off saying your accept their terms and conditions despite causing damages. When you do as they ask and send them a picture and description of damages they will tell you that did not receive your email and that emails take time to receive... it was 4 hours BTW and still no email???? Hardly think that is the truth

They show up in plain clothes, in a personal vehicle, an older model sedan with dark tinted windows... Should have been my first clue. Not as advertised on their website showing Uniformed professionals and company branded service vans. Did not even have the foresight to ensure his PIN Pad was charged for the day to make payment seamless and efficient. Very unprofessional

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE

I have since made a report to the Better Business Bureau Ontario and encourage anyone else that has experienced similar from this company to do the same
