Remove and reconstruct a new deck around a 24' x 15' swimming pool.

Ryan and crew did an absolutely amazing job. The deck they built was above expectations. (After all, building a deck totally around an above ground pool, is not an easy task... or so I thought)

Ryan and crew were very meticulous with the build, but also listened and addressed all concerns I had. I cannot express how professional and accommodating they were from start to finish.

Ryan and crew also informed when thdy would be on-site, so I always knew when to expect them...other than weather issues of course.

I would recommend if you have "any" projects that your looking to have completed to make Ryan at E & L Creations your first call.

Thank you, Ryan for everything... we love our new deck!!

Workshop Garage Addition

We were the general contractors when we built our home 24 years ago and that experience taught us that no matter how much you know...we could not know enough. Therefore any further projects we dreamed of needed to be well planned, thoroughly questioned, and documented. We were relentless in the process of submitting requests for proposals and interviewing submissions for 2 years before we felt comfortable moving forward. What gave us confidence was Ryan's honesty. That honesty prevailed throughout the project. He gave updates to timelines...good or bad and intervened when the subcontractors were not up to par or delayed. We can contest that the stress was less with Ryan! We know we can think about future projects with excitement..we know where to go!

We love our fence

Ryan and his team built our fence, and they far exceeded any expectations we had. Ryans communication was excellent, and his professionalism was exceptional. The quality of work and attention to detail is more than we could have asked for. This project from start to finish was flawless. Thank you so much!

Unique Kitchen Installation

We had a very unique job for Ryan and the team. We converted our garage into a certified kitchen to prepare and serve food.

I dont mean we polished the concrete and put in a couple of appliances, we sealed off one of the garage doors, put in a floor over the concrete and installed a split ductless heat pump for temperature control.

The twists and turns this project took from the start were amazing. The permitting process and COVID supply issues extended the timeline and increased the costs, but Ryan was resilient. He could have walked away at any point, but did not.

We are using the kitchen today and are really happy with it, so the actual construction was a 10/10, but thats not the part I liked most about dealing with Ryan.

The part I liked most is that he was always thinking about different ways to tackle challenges and presented us with options and recommendations.

We couldnt be happier with the work and would bring his team back in a heartbeat if we needed anything else.

Kitchen Renovation

I am absolutely thrilled with my new kitchen thanks to Ryan. My home is about 100 years old with beautiful character particularity in the naturally finished solid chestnut trim. My goal was to update my kitchen but still keep the character of my home. Ryan and his crew took special care to preserve the trim and to work with the odd measurements so common in older homes. Also of special note: Ryan changed an odd wall feature to accommodate a large plumbing pipe from the floor above, Ryan magically was able to wire lighting into a cabinet on the other side of the room from the lighting source, Ryan and Cody came in on Sunday to ensure all was done so I could host Thanksgiving the following day. Ryan was always respectful, calm and creative when dealing with challenges and absolutely fair with billing. I must also add how caring and patient they were with the ever present, concerned [annoying] kitty. Thank you Ryan, Leith and Cody for a job very well done.

Basement Reno

We choose E and L creations to finish our basement last winter. Ryan was great to deal with from the first time he quoted the work right to the end of the job. Always responsive to questions or concerns. The quality of the work was great and Ryan his team (Taylor and Leith) were always nice to deal with and great with our kids which was a bonus as well.
I would recommend them(and have) to family or friends and we plan to use them when we do our ensuite in the future.

repairs

Well I will start of that I was very excited about my project.

I wanted my bathrooms redone. The main reason I was getting my
main bathroom done was i needed my ceiling replaced as it was in rough shape. I was told by Ryan that his professional opinion that the ceiling didn't need to be replaced, if any issues he told me he would fix for me. It is in worse shape then it has ever been. Also the bathroom doors installed I told him were not square, I can't even close the main bathroom when I have a shower. The work was finished in March/20 , we didn't even do a walkthrough as he was busy. I paid for the service.
I have tried to communicate with Ryan multiple times in the summer and have tried a few times in September, but with no luck. I am very frustrated that i was told it was all going to be done and now I have a worse ceiling than I did before and a bathroom door that does not close properly.

Company Response

I wasn't sure what to make of this review when I first read it, But after going through my old phone messages and paperwork last week, I'd like to clarify a few things.

If we replaced the ceiling, that wouldn't solve the underlying problem, which was never investigated. Either your exhaust fan was clogged, or there is moisture getting in from the attic. You were certain replacing the drywall would solve it. I'm as certain now as I was then that this is incorrect. We re-mudded and used an oil based primer. There is little to no chance that moisture from within the room has caused that damage. They looked good when we left. Drywall compound doesn't simply fail after a few months. If it did, the entire ceiling would be affected. It is my professional opinion that I was correct the first time. If you can verify I was wrong about this, I will gladly refund you for that part of the work.

As for the door; Again, this would be the first of the hundreds (maybe thousands) of doors I have installed that simply failed or fell out of square. If the door was installed incorrectly, it wouldn't have shut properly in the first place. If it somehow shifted, you'd see the trim separated at the seams. I've never heard of such a thing happening as a result of anything other than misuse. Perhaps I'm wrong. If you can verify this to be the case somehow, I will also refund this.

While I fully admit you are correct that I was difficult to reach and make a schedule with, I would not have repaired those issues under warranty, for the reasons I just laid out anyways. Perhaps I erred in judgement and should have explained that in more detail. If you felt ignored, You do genuinely have my apology. That is far from the reputation I hope to maintain.

Also, in my text messages, I can confirm that I did indeed request a walk through and it was you that declined. So I don't accept your assertion. I'll let our other reviews speak for themselves where our integrity is concerned. It was March 2020 as you said. We were the least busy we've ever been. I also think your previous 10 star review will attest to that fact as well.

Sorry you are unhappy.

Backyard Deck

Wanted to have a deck built on the back of the house. Got four estimates, E&L was the only one who could do all the work (remove and fill in windows, excavate to necessary level, build deck) and the only one that provided an itemized quote. The guys showed up to do the windows after I provided a deposit, and had the windows out and close to matching brick in place in one day. They came back the next day to dig for the footings (by hand!!) and had them in place by day's end. I was told that the lumber necessary to build the deck hadn't all arrived, so it would be a couple of weeks before they returned to build. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I received an email that weekend, informing me they would be back Monday morning to start framing. The deck was completed by Wednesday afternoon. The guys were great about answering any questions or concerns we had, and dealt with all the little things we wanted done (like tailoring the side to accommodate the river rock beside our planters). Even better, once the work was completed, our final bill was less than the quote. Couldn't be happier with the quality of work, and the attitude of the crew. Would definitely use this company again.
