This is the worst business, in my entire life, that I have dealt with.
It started with the sales person. They didn't know anything about the ontario rebate program or straight up deceived us about what is able to get a rebate from the government, including selling us windows for our garage that didnt qualify. Also, he upsold us on a larger door than what could be installed (as per the final "fitment" guy that came a couple weeks later). So after taking the time to pick the door in person we were forced to do it over the phone with the new shape, size and available materials. (Spoiler: we hate the door, but are stuck with it now.)
We had delays for install, which in today's "Covid is an excuse for everything" I accepted. It was approx 6 months of delays for the windows, and about 10 months for the front door. Finally, when the windows did finally get installed none of our blinds fit anymore. Apparently this is in the fine print of the contract, but you would think you might mention it to the customer?
The window installers were nice guys. Unfortunately, the install was sloppy. Mitered joints on the trim is sloppy in some spots. There is missing caulking on the outside above some of the windows.
The windows themselves are pretty garbage for the money. Our largest window has two sliders underneath that come off the track all the time. On our crank windows (casement style) the locks are incredibly stiff. To the point that the installers broke one of the mechanisms while testing. They replaced it with one they had laying around in their truck (which I appreciate, because it took months to get someone to come out and replace it with a new one.) We don't lock those windows anymore because it honestly feels like we will snap them if we try because of the effort required.
The windows that are small enough to crank open as one piece awnings, their locks are smooth and easy to operate.
The plastic sill on all the windows is thin and when you touch it, or tap it, moves around all over. On our biggest window it actually has waves in it that look horrible. They didn't caulk any of the windows on the inside. Truthfully I'm not sure if that should or shouldn't have been done, but with how horrible the gapping is and how thin they are- the couple bucks on caulking would likely hide this terrible product from future customers.
The sliding back door was installed a few months later. By a guy, by himself. He smashed the door frame off a bunch of stuff all the way through the back yard. Was miserable and rude to my wife. The outside caulking was done with the same level of quality that I would expect if I let my 6 year old try. Caulking everywhere, uneven, drops smeared into the brand new deck I built. No caulking above the door. And the best part of it all, the screen was installed without testing it and the first time we opened it the screen fell off the track. I looked to put it back on and couldn't because the bottom track is actually broken. I imagine either the installer did it or came broken. Either way the guy disappeared when he "finished" and we had to find out on our own. So, our new back door has no screen. Neat.
Before our front door had been installed we had been in contact with their office multiple times (I can't even count the amount of attempts.) To try to get someone to come out and fix and replace the crank mechanisms, the broken screen, put caulking where it should go, check why the internal screens on all the windows fall out so easily on their own, why the sliding windows below our big window won't stay on the track, look at damage from the back door installer...etc etc.
Most times, no one answered the phone, sometimes we got a hold of someone in the office and they would tell us their manager is going to call us soon - they didn't. Never did. They did schedule a repair guy for just the one mechanism that was broken and replaced with a used one waaay back when the first windows were installed. Didn't tell us the date or time. Multiple weeks later we got a call letting us know someone would be coming "tomorrow" no idea what time - no idea for what, just coming. The guy came, cussed and swore the whole time trying to fix it. I stood over him because the window was in our babies room and the baby was sleeping- because we had no idea when he was coming. He didn't like that obviously by the way he rudely talked to me. Asked me why we even needed it replaced. Also, when I asked why it was so hard to use the lock - just like all the other windows with two piece windows he said he was going to goto the truck to find out why. Literally drove away. (Truthfully, at this point I wasn't being very polite, that might be why).
After that guy came, we were unable to get anyone on the phone until we got a call that told us our front door was being installed. They gave us a time window for arrival. He was late, of course. He was miserable too. He ripped off siding during door removal, we have torn siding next to our door - so that's nice. Didn't caulk above the door, the caulking job was done terribly. Left without saying a word.
We have all of our stuff, I guess. However, nothing is working correctly, it was sloppy as heck, things were left broken or damaged around where they were working. We finally had the office reach out to us after leaving bad reviews on Facebook and commenting on posts telling our story. They promised an install manager. Want to guess if he showed up the day and time they promised? Of course he didn't, no phone call, nothing. We called the office and we've now spoken to this poor woman a million times at this point, and her response was "are you kidding me!? He didn't show up or call!?!" It's pretty bad when you're own employees are embarrassed by your business.
Still to this day, it's been well over a year since this process started. No answer from them, no visit, no repairs, nothing. They have turned off commenting on all their Facebook posts. I've had about 30 people reach out directly to me to share their horrible story about their service. I don't even know what to say at this point.
PLEASE DONT USE THIS COMPANY. Save your money and either go with some fly by night guys who will have the same quality and same level of service. Or put garbage bag stapled over your current windows.
