In my front yard, the "Interlock Walkway and Steps to the Front Porch" shifted and sank within the first year after it was installed by another company.

After getting nowhere with that company, I started searching for a company that was credible, competent, and capable of correcting this huge dilemma and safety concerns.

Champagne Construction And Interlocking was the company I needed. Its managed by a skilled professional person Matt, who surrounded himself with similar people who are experts in the interlocking business.

When the representative came over to work on a quotation to correct the problem/issues, he spent much time observing, measuring, probing and asking questions. Then he clearly explained to me how he planned to correct the problems and issues, as he saw them. He told me that they would have to remove, clean, reuse, adjust, replace, and re-install the interlocking stones and steps. He later gave me an estimate and notified me that the price could change (increase) depending on what he found within and below the base underneath the interlocking stones and steps.

I accepted the estimate because I trusted his honesty and believed his expertise based on reviews I read about the company and comments from my friend and a former customer of the company. However, I waited a while (no regrets) for the company to get started and realized then that they took their time to get their jobs done correctly in their first attempt.

When they started my job, I observed their careful and confident approach, and the quiet dedication and commitment of the team, particularly Dustin (Michael) who did a great job in rebuilding the steps and walkway.

Matt and his team did a fantastic job in our front yard interlocking and walkway. He was very flexible and worked with us to plan the project within our budget. He and his crew were highly professional individuals and kept the site neat and tidy at the end of every day. Matt and the team can be highly trusted with the work they do as they did a high quality job at our place without any supervision from us. The main highlight of their work is how they did the base preparation for interlocking. They spent over a week to make sure a solid foundation is available for laying stones. Their craftsmanship was second to none. I would highly recommend Champagne Construction for anyone looking for an interlocking company. The downside is, Matt is very slow to respond to emails or texts, just a minor inconvenience for a picture perfect end-product!! Now our front yard is the highlight of the neighborhood:)

We had our existing sidewalk replaced with stonework (large pavers and stone edging). We had seen other work in the area done by Champagne's company and were impressed. We talked to the people who had the work done and they highly recommended this company. We got various quotes and spoke to the bidders to determine how confident we would be working with them. Matt from Champagne came across as the most cooperative and informative. He explained in detail the job he would be doing, and took into account our particular concerns (making the front edge of the steps a different shade than the flat surfaces to stand out a bit for safety, adjusting the height of the step going into the house since it was not well spaced vertically, etc). When we were confused about colour selection for the walkway, Matt volunteered to meet us at the stone supplier and spent an hour talking with us about stone selection. Matt's crew had laid one pattern close to the driveway and asked if it was OK as they laid it; we said it was but later in the day changed our minds, so Matt adjusted it - no problem, no extra cost. We needed some unexpected brickwork at the area where the old step met the house entrance and Matt arranged to have a mason do that work at no extra expense to us, no hassle. The final product is excellent. This was a hassle-free, highly cooperative contract. A lot of companies can lay stonework; we're glad that we went with a contractor who is highly cooperative and easy to get along with, someone we trust; it takes the anxiety out of the process.
