Backyard Reno

Most unreliable and most unprofessional service ever. Was told project would take 6 days, half those days they didn’t show up. Project took over 2 weeks. Was told drainage would be installed in 3 areas and that was complete, yet no refund to their cost. Broke a portion of my fence and sod on side of house and didn’t repair. Used my tools to install sod and mix concrete and they are damaged or missing. Contractor does not know how to actually mix concrete properly, I could have gotten a cement truck here cheaper. Nothing installed how discussed, nothing slopes away from my house it all slopes towards. Overall terrible experience and lack of professionalism. I withheld 10% for them to come back in 14 days for repairs and nothing has happened and zero responses to emails. Contractor did not pay out his subcontractors when he had way more then enough funds to do so and placed the blame on homeowner. All expenses for material and labour were definitely covered and the 10% is out of a GC’s fee, yet he still has not paid his subcontractor.

Wind storm repair work

I hired this company following the 2018 wind storm to repair a damaged gate going from my front to backyard. They were prompt to give a quote and were able to start almost right away (should have been a red flag but had little choice after all the damage that was done across the GTA, it was difficult to book anyone). They did the gate but the post they put in was not dug deep enough and it all became damaged over the winter. After much delay, they finally came out to repair their work in May 2019, but did a very sloppy job and left things incomplete. Overall they are very unprofessional and the work quality is not acceptable. As you can see from the pictures, they didn't put my patio stones back properly (they are not leveled and nothing is binding them together), they left a piece of metal sitting exposed, they killed my grass with all the extra concrete and left it, and some of the boards have huge gaps with exposed screws.

Unprofessional, unreliable, unskilled

Given the severe storms which knocked down numerous fences in the GTA this spring, should have been a red flag for not hiring this contractor to undertake replacing my fence when he said he was available to begin work immediately. This is a contractor who generally arrived at 9:30 AM and would work about 6 hours on average per day using traffic as an excuse to leave early. Twice over the course of this 2 week project he did not show up at all, despite assurances that the job would be started and finished directly. Work quality was average at best, with little regard to taking care not to step on or run machinery over plant material. Post holes were generally at the correct dept mostly because of my watchful eye and a measuring tape. I had to insist several times to drill deeper as the required depth was not reached. The job site was left untidy each night, gravel strewn about and final cleanup was left to the homeowner. In short, this is not a company which you can be confidant will do the right thing unless you are willing to supervise all day.
