Samsung Dryer Repair

On March 12, 2020 a technician sold me an idler assembly charging $145. Today (June 6, 2020) on Amazon it's price at 18 dollars.
My dryer is out of commission again. I agree with the other reviews and do not recommend appliancerepairman.ca.

Everything you fear about a repair company

This company is EVERYTHING you fear about a service company..incompetent, shady, and they have their act honed to a fine point. We had a technician come in to "fix" our dryer, and within 20 minutes of him leaving it was out of order. They charge you $80 for the visit, and the hustle comes in when they say they can get the appliance in working order, and roll the cost of the initial visit into the repair. They said that there "may" be a need for additional parts, but the work they are doing "should" last for a while. Well, the "additional" parts ended up being a motor upgrade on a dryer for $700. In short, there is nothing
illegal here, but they prey on your lack of knowledge and experience in an attempt to up-sell. The work performed was shoddy and rushed. AVOID

French Door Fridge repair!!! I wish

NEVER call these people, they dont know how to diagnose or repair anything and will charge you a lot of money just for showing up. Told me my fridge needed a main board and that he would call me back with a price and ETA, took my money left and never heard from them again. I later replaced the board on my own and it still did not work. I called them and they tried to blame me saying if I did not put the board in correctly they would charge me more money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they will only take your money

Total RIP OFF with terrible customer service

They charged me $316 for service to diagnose the problem with my dishwasher that wasn't draining. They gave me the option to change a tube on my own and I did. After the dishwasher was still not working, I called them back and they told me they would charge me an additional fee to come out again. Even though there is a large "100% satisfaction guarantee" on their website, the customer service agent clearly didn't care.
I even asked the customer service representative if this is how she would like to be treated if she was on the other side of this situation. she refused to answer my question and asked me if i wanted to send out another technician for a slightly reduced cost.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone that wants something fixed fairly at a reasonable price. STAY AWAY!!!

dishwasher installation

The installer came and after looking at the dishwasher and existing lines, he said he could install. "I've installed 100's of d/ws". After my signing the paperwork to proceed with the work, he got to it, bent the copper tubing for the water inlet (that's ok, the water will come through"), started using the back of his wrench to put on the compression nut. He went outside to make a phone call - turns out it was to his office - apparently it was my fault that I didn't tell the call centre I had copper tubing! I should have read the reviews on the Company before calling. Outrageous they are still in business.

Microwave repair

I needed to have my built-in microwave fixed and appliancerepairman.ca seemed like a reputable company.

Wrong. It turned out to be an expensive nightmare.

I was quoted $80 for the initial inspection. When the tech guy arrived, he even had the invoice filled out right to the bottom line.

Things changed when he realized that owner of the house (me) was out of town and that I was a woman, and that my tenant, a lovely man, was Muslim. I'm guessing this combo of people tempted him to see if he could squeeze me for more.

On the phone he was condescending, explaining how a microwave worked as if talking to a toddler, then told me that he could service it and most likely repair it for about $280. I said that was fine.

Apparently, he crossed out the old figures on the invoice, scribbled in the new numbers and had my tenant sign it.

My tenant, thinking that the cost was too high, questioned the tech guy about it. He responded, “Not to worry, if the microwave needs new parts, they won’t charge for the installation, just the parts.”

He spent ten minutes looking at the microwave then informed my tenant that he couldn’t fix it, that it needed two parts.

That ten-minute cursory glance cost me $316 after taxes.

He said they would be in touch and left.

I week later, I got a new quote for the installation and the parts - $570. So, they were going to charge me $850 to fix a microwave that cost me about $600 to purchase.

I spoke to two customer service reps and they refused to bend on the cost. They said that the initial $80 was just for the technician to show up and the door, not the inspection. They didn’t state this when I booked them. When I asked about their hourly rate, they said they didn’t have one and their fees weren’t time based. So essentially the techie could charge whatever he wanted.

So, I fired them.
