Extremely Disappointed

I had an emergency situation at my home that required the attention of a locksmith, immediately. I put out a number of messages and Check Point quickly responded and dispatched someone to change the locks to my main door and separate entrance door. I couldn't believe that the price for the work totaled $2,254.35, but this is what they presented me with upon completion. Of course, emergency situation or not I should have been more careful!

Three months later, the bolt for the separate entrance door is stuck. No matter what we do, the bolt won't unlock and so we aren't able to open the actual door. I called Check Point, expecting that they would come address the problem at no extra charge, especially given what I had paid them; they responded by saying there would be an extra charge to do the work because I'm past my 90-day warranty. They did the work 94 days before my call to them about the problem, and although it was 4 days beyond the warranty they refused to address the problem unless I paid again. Of course, I understand and respect that warranties have timeframes for a reason but when running a business I would hope that a service provider would put things into context. The fact that I paid far more than I should have had to and with the work turning out to be ineffective, it's horrible customer service to tell me that you won't come look at the problem free of charge because the call would have needed to come through 4 days earlier.

In doing additional research on this company over the last few days, in addition to seeing horrible reviews I discovered that they were featured on CBC Marketplace as a locksmith with a reputation of ripping off customers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvlzZnhZhrc

Taken advantage

Call sis company for a key not fitting in the lock. Was told that they would not be able to give me a price until they had put it in side of my lock when that was done they presented a bill of $580 for a small lock cylinder change. I had no choice but to pay it as I was unable to get into my home. I’m disgusted

False locksmiths hiding behind a false front address on Google Map

Google search of "Locksmith near me" led me to a false (non-existent) locksmith address, with a fake corporate name ; I called them nevertheless, presuming that they were new in the neighborhood, and they dispatched an unidentified "locksmith" van within an hour - the locksmith performed the two lock swaps within 30 minutes (one of which using my provided parts), then billed us for $839 - Until I received the bill, I was not aware that I was dealing with "Check Point Door and Lock ", and was presuming that I was dealing with the "new locksmith in our neighborhood" that Google map flagged - after receiving the $839 invoice, I checked their reviews on Yelp, which confirmed a rating of 1 star out of 10 for multiple reviewers - Importantly, many of the reviews mentioned a CBC Marketplace investigative story on Check Point Security . When I viewed CBC's investigative journalism report on Check Point , I felt sick in the stomach. Google should know better than allowing fake listings on their Google map search. Also, the locksmith industry should be regulated, and dubious companies such as Check Point should not allowed to stay in business. I wish that Homestars and BBB Better Business Bureau would allow to publish real reviews such as this one for all to see, to stop similar companies from taking advantage of seniors like me (65).

Fraud this company well rob you blind also known as sos

Son called for service advertised as $39 for locked keys in car. Given an invoice after door opened for over $700. Completely took a vantage of a teenager saw their mark and took it. Calling police, credit card company and bbb. Was not told how much before hand and even the service charge of $39 ended up being listed at $95 on the invoice. Airbag service to open the door was $550. This is the definition of fraud. Checked BBB many similar stories. Also less than selves as SOS. I’m sure they go by many names probably need to change the regularly.
