My backyard grass was destroyed. Michael and gang tore out the old and laid all new sod. Before the first cut it was like looking at prairie gas blowing in the wind. After the third cut the backyard now looks like a lush green bed. Very satisfied.

Michael Durham Landscaping was absolutely fantastic to work with. Not only was Michael and his crew professional and friendly, the work they did on my backyard was phenomenal. I waited two months to write a review so that I could comment on how the grass/grading was longer term and all I can say is that it is excellent! We had a lot of issues with pooling water in our backyard (among many other things) and Michael and his team regraded our backyard and we have not had issues since. If you follow the information his team provides on caring for your grass after it is laid it will turn out beautiful; I am so impressed. Just an added note, I live in a middle row townhome and Michael was one of the few landscapers willing to complete the job on our house. I couldn’t recommend his company more! Pictures below are before and then after the first grass cut (lawn looks even more beautiful now after a few more)

Happy with the quality service and attention paid to our back lawn. Was able to expedite service fir a relatively nominal cost.

Clearly I’m an anomaly with this poor review. I referred this company to my mom based on the amazing reviews. She contacted their office June 16th and was told they couldn’t visit/quote for 2 weeks. Not a problem and an appointment was booked for June 30 between 4:30-7:30. And so it began…. A reminder email was received that morning confirming her appointment for a different day. Mom emailed back to clarify and they apologized for the error and did indeed confirm June 30. We waited. No one showed. This morning (July 1) she emailed them to advise of the no show. Email response:

“Hello,

My apologies Michael stopped by yesterday evening, as it’s lawn cutting and garden maintenance he does not need to view the property so he continued to the next quote, you will likely receive a proposal today for your property.

If you have any questions or concerns please,
Feel free to call or email at anytime.

Hm. So he doesn’t need to view the property because it’s for lawn cutting and garden maintenance??? Anyone else think that’s odd? And he stopped by BUT doesn’t need to view the property. So why stop by? Why did we wait for almost 3 hours? And how does one reasonably & accurately quote services without a “need to view the property…”. (Numerous shrubs in back yard). Not to mention no opportunity to discuss the services required?
Nevertheless, she waited for the email quote. Quote was received today with a different client’s name and address.
Michael Durham Landscaping: This experience sure doesn’t seem on brand based on your company’s reviews. So very disappointed.

**update** thank you MDL for the fast response. Totally understand training new staff and the bumps along the way. Star rating “upped” to reflect responsiveness to this review. Yes, please email the correct quote and I’ll let her know.
July 13: Another update: quote not yet received..

MDL worked efficiently and smoothly. Project looks great. No more icy driveway due to runoff or pools of water in the summer! Gave me lots of tips on getting the sod to take (water the crap out of it), and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Did do a great job. And the only grievance I have I did get 1st proposal and then I decided to change few things and add a couple of things I got another proposal and both of the proposals include price of disposal been/trailer. It is my fault I should have asked to combine both proposals in to one and then agree on that. I endup paying for 2 trailers.
And I honestly don't believe the stuff that they had to take out get required 2 trailers

Michael Landscaping was fast and thorough with the job. The team worked together quickly to remove weeds, layer on new top soil and then covered our property with fresh sod. Michael came by afterswards to inspect and clean up any garbage, as well as explain maintenance & care. We are very happy with our new lawn.
