Skylark Tree Care

Hi all,

Skylark tree care is one amazing team ! At our property we wanted to basically cut all of the trees and shrubs to start with a blank canvas. This also included taking down a large Norway maple and ensuring all stumps and roots would be gone as well.

Gillian was able scheduled a time for a quote. She was so helpful in giving me information on the company. She was able answer my questions and concerns and kept me informed through the entire process.

Also, one of my requirements was insurance and certifications.This is and was critical for for when we are taking on projects at home. Skylark had no trouble providing me all the information and stands by their work ! They are licences arborists and have coverage for their employees!

On the day of the quote, Gaelan came by and assesed our property. Went over the amount of work and what my key concerns were. He was super detailed and let me know all the areas where and how they could remove my tress and shrubs. But also another key was that he was able to give me a quote and detailed all the work required in writing. This was wonderful as there would be no confusion on what we agreed on.

On the day of the job, Brain came with a crew of 3 other team members. He walked me through the game plan for the day. They were great and went after taking down all the growth! They let me know when they were going to take down the large Norway maple tree in the back and was great to see how they took it down with care! Once everything was cleared by the team they also stumped everywhere there was something removed. The team cleaned up everything and left the property in amazing shape !

Overall, we could not ask for a better team and service ! Skylark tree care will be my only recommendation from my experience. Very professional and importantly everyone was honest and great people!

This team went above and beyond and fertilized not only the new tree but all the other trees on our property.

You know when you find a company and you are so impressed with their professionalism, expertise and just all-over "niceness", that you wish they could do ANYTHING you needed done-?? well, that's Skylark. Gaelan and his team are not just experienced and can figure out the optimal way to fix any of your tree or landscape issues- they also seem to love what they do! Wow, if they could just do painting and electrical as well, I'd be in heaven. I love working with a team that not only cares about what they do but are responsive and willing to take the time to ensure their customers are truly satisfied. And they're just nice people as well.

We had Skylark Tree Care come to cut down a tree in our front yard (wasn't in good shape and was always dropping branches) and do some work on our giant Silver Maple in the back yard. To say we were satisfied is an understatement. From the beginning they were very friendly and knowledgeable, they cared about wanting the tree to be healthy, strong, and for us importantly, safe! They were able to trim back the tree to a much better shape and added cables up in it for stability as well as do some great work around the base with the chips from our front tree.

They seemed to love working on our tree which shows their passion for the work they do. If anyone is looking to have tree work done I can't recommend Skylark enough!

My wife and I saw the Skylark Tree care team working on some trees in our neighbour’s yard and as they were completing their work, we asked them to look at our maple tree. It’s a huge maple that seems to be over-growing as its branches are not only blocking our view of the street but also encroaching on our eaves and roof.

After they cleaned up next door, Gaelan came to see us. He took the time to examine our maple tree and to ask us about our concerns. He explained to us that our tree was in danger of splitting in a few areas and recommended a cabling and bracing process to prevent that type of damage. He gave us a verbal estimate at that time and we told him that we would like to proceed after we return from vacation.

Skylark Tree Care followed up with a written estimate that was exactly the same as Gaelan’s verbal estimate. We paid the deposit and the service date was set. The day before the service date, we received an email confirming an 8 am start the next day.

On that day, their team arrived, at 8 am on the button, and commenced their work. After a few hours of work, followed by an extensive cleanup of ALL the branches, leaves, and residue, the job was all done. And what a spectacular job it was!

My wife and I were both totally happy with everything - the first assessment and estimate, the written estimate and invoice, the communication with Skylark Tree Care (before, during, and after the work), and the amazing friendliness of all the Skylark personnel we dealt with and who worked on our tree.

We will be recommending Skylark Tree Care to our other neighbour as well as to anyone else we meet who may be in need of tree service.

We contacted Skylark for quote to remove two large trees in our front yard. They responded quickly and showed up within a few days to have a look at the work - Gaelan made some suggestions re: hydro/Rogers line that went through the trees and through his suggestions, we ended up saving money on the job because of a discount he offered (to disconnect during the removal process).

A very detailed quote came in via e-mail on the next day, we confirmed the job and after paying the deposit, had a day booked to do the job - with no lag time. Gillian in the office provided amazing customer service support!

Gaelen and his crew showed up when they said they would and took care of the job and did not leave a trace of their work. Incredible!

Our spruce tree had outgrown our yard so it had to go to make way for new. Gaelan’s price was competitive but his professionalism put him over the top to get the job and the professionalism showed through the entire job. The crew showed up on time and did a great job removing the tree and grinding out the stump. After inspection they took out the grinder again and removed even more of stump following the surface roots and did a great job of cleaning up the yard. The only thing left was the void where the tree once stood. They also had no problem with a last minute request to slice up the trunk into firewood sized logs.

Gaelan and his team at Skylark were excellent to work with. They communicated clearly and promptly so that I understood exactly what was involved. The work was done on time, on budget, and to high quality. Thanks!

I was very selective when I chose Skylark. I wanted a company who put tree health above all else.

The initial assessment of my two at risk trees was done very quickly. Gaelan provided an extensive review of the trees and made recommendations: one could be saved, but one was in decline with perhaps only a couple of season left at best. His expertise in was evident as he showed us all the telltale signs of the tree's stress as it tried to compensate for the failing limbs and how it would deteriorate further in a short amount of time. He also confirmed that anything you do with a tree, even pruning, has to be done properly or you could hurt the tree more than help it.

All our trees are at least 60 years old, so very large. We hired Skylark to remove the sugar maple, patch the hole in the trunk of one honey locust, prune both locusts from above the house rooftops, and remove a pyramid oak stump left after the tree had died and been cut down few years back.

All work was exceptional. The crew showed up as scheduled and left the place in good order at the end of each day. The focus was on safety and proper tree care. The result is that both locusts look fabulous. They did not do anything to compromise these marvelous trees which I expect will still have a long life. I would not hesitate to hire them again or make a recommendation.

We had Skylark Tree Care remove some trees/stumps in our back yard that were causing problems with our fence. I was very happy with the level of communication and transparency with the pricing. They did a great job with the clean-up! I would definitely recommend Skylark Tree Care!
