Furnace, AC and HRV installation
We recently replaced our Furnace and AC unit and added an HRV. After 5 quotes we decided to go with Summers and Smith in Aurora for the Lennox product they sell, the promise of a good installation and a fair price. We had cheaper quotes but when you compared the products and the proposed installations it seemed to be the best value. Blair came by the house to give us a quote and walk us through all the intricacies of the new high efficiency furnaces, the proper sizing and the rebates.
The installation happened quickly and cleanly. I was impressed with the time they took to do it right. Steve the lead installer made sure there were no shortcuts to save materials, decisions about where to put venting were made on what was best for the house. It's only been a short while but so far we are very happy and I would definitely include them on your list of companies to get a quote from.

- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- The first step for us was to become familiar with all the different manufacturers products and how they compared against each other. This way we could compare apples to apples. Every manufacturer uses marketing terms to describe the technical capabilities and I didn't find any great websites to make this easier. Once I spent a little time doing this the decision became much easier because the focus shifted to the installation and the service. In the end it was a bit of a leap of faith but it worked out for us.
